Mi Mi A1 can't connect to my home wi-fi, or if it connects, it will automatically disconnect after a while:
My router appears in the WiFi menu, stating that it is a "saved connection", but when i click on the ssid it just shows that he's trying to connect but then it goes back to the list of wifi networks, without showing any errors etc.
I've got no mac filter on my router so it can't be the new mac randomizer update already stated in the forum.
It all used to work well before updating to Pie (no root, no vpn method).
Thanks for your attention, let me know if i can provide more info about this problem
Identical issues for me, with identical conditions (no root/unlock)...
Anyone knows how to solve? I tried everything but nothing seems to work...
I'm having the same problem but only with some networks. No idea what's causing it.
had the same issue and after disabling "A-MPDU" or switched back to 54g only in router settings it worked again.

I suggest you try to disable the 5 GHz band on the router and see if it helps... on my old router running only on 2,4 GHz wifi works fine, but many other users are reporting problems, so it might be an issue with dual band routers; it's worth a try.

Yet not all users had their MAC address changed with the update, so maybe not every terminal is subject to the issue... just saying.
I have same problem. It was due to change in Mac address during update.. I just simply login to router page...by 191.168.1.1
In wireless>wireless Mac filtering> add it latest MAC address along with new name...save it and try...it worked for me.

I've got no mac filtering enabled on my modem so this is definitely not the problem. Seems a problem with the 5ghz frequency. maybe reduced bands or stability problems - can anyone check which bands are enabled for 5ghz connection?
Apparently the problem is the Modem of the official Pie ROM, because the latest Pie update have issues with LTE bands and WiFi. Hope Xiaomi will release a fix soon!

A1 over home WiFi does not work correctly. Internet access is available, but it is impossible to view mail on gmail, send pictures to tweeter, whatsup. PIE version obtained by OTA, root no. MAC address when updating to PIE changed. There is no filtering on the router by MAC. Range one 2.4. I changed the firmware of the router, did a complete reset of the Mi A1 to the factory settings. Forced to assign DNS. The result on the home router is not reached. 8 Android devices are connected to the router. All work without problems with all resources.

In my modem settings I can deactivate the 801.11n standard and only use 801.11g (with max speed 54mbit). Since AMPDU is a "n" feature it makes sense that this works, too.
I hope Xiaomi will fix this soon, I have issues with other Wifi access points, which I can't change

I suggest you try to change Wi-Fi encryption from Wpa2-psk (AES) to wpa2-psk (TKIP). Other users regained access to their Wi-Fi this way.
Same problem here..... im using MAC filter/TKIP/2.4Ghz (5Ghz OFF), disabled mac filter as workaround waiting for a fix
EDIT: Ok fix found, just remove the previous mac (before update to pie) from the mac whitelist

I have a ZyXEL P-2602HW-D1A Wireless router. I have tried all combinations of security, even NO SECURITY WHATSOEVER, and still the device won't transfer data.
Not working;
Firmware: 1.5, Build: CR817
Wifi Router: ZyXEL P-2602HW-D1A
Security: Tried All; WPA2, WPA, WEP & None.
Problem: Connect under all conditions but no data is sent
Please help.
Have you tried another WiFi access point to check the devices WiFi module actually functions?
No, I haven't tried that yet, but don't really see the point... I've connected effortlessly to the same WiFi network with my HTC Touch Diamond.

For some reason my N800 wouldn't connect to MY ZyXEL P-2602HW-D1A unless I set the device (N800) to disable any kind of wifi powersaving features it had.
On another note, how did you get your hands on the device so early? I'm guessing you are using a Cybercity internet connection? (I'm in copenhagen myself)
edit: I actually came to that solution when i noticed I could connect to OTHER accespoints, but not the Zyxel ones.
Same problem here in France with a Freebox as router
I've noticed under the router's WLAN client list that the device does not have a "Host Name". Would that present a problem?
It is assigned an IP address by the router without any problems, though.
Also the device seems to lose connection and reconnect constantly (every 5-10 seconds).
I done some digging around in the router settings and found an "AnyIP" feature. Would that possibly help?
There are a number of issues floating around. Support for WPA2 seems iffy and some people can just change to WPA or WEP and all work fine.
There are however a number of people (such as me) who can get a connection perfectly, it shows connection OK, they get an IP from the DHCP server etc, they can even browse a page for a few seconds... but after that no data is sent and everything times out. This is happening on any security from none through to WPA2.
I have seen no solution to this anywhere and believe me I have looked. Some people have given up and got a new router, but this is not a solution.
Can someone confirm that this has been recognised as a fault with the magic and is being investigated, rather then assuming it's a user or router error. There are far too many instances of this across many brands of router for it not to be an issue with the HTC Magic.

No, but since I'm by far the only one having this issue (try searching the web; see my last post), I didn't feel it was necessary. Just want some input from xda-dev that might solve the problem, if any.

I've had exactly the same problem earlier with the N800 on the zyxel. Exactly how you describe it.
Did you find out if you could turn off any powersaving features on the HTC?
same problem here
in france with a freebox
I don't exaclty know what router is in the box
but I have excalty the same
I set on never the wifi sleep(powersaving) mode.
i found it in setting wifi menu button then advanced and "never"
but the problem is still here

I also have this problem. Im in Denmark with a Zyxel P660HW-p1.
Another user of Cybercity in Denmark with the same problem.
ZyXEL P-660HW-D1
The android is the only device that doesn't work. I have tried with Iphone and laptops.
I've tried to change the settings on the router to no avail.
Enable 802.11g+ mode [on/off]
RTS/CTS Threshold [2432/4096]
RTS/CTS Threshold [2432/4096]
Max. Frame Burst [600/1800]
The device shows up in the device list with no hostname, the HTC Magic gets the right ip address (using the program WhatIsMyIp to view it)
I had the same problem before, when I set my TP-LINK draft N router with WEP security my HD can see it, connect to it (but speed was slow tho), and my HTC Magic just keep saying its not in range. However, when I set it to open security it works, so I recognise its probably the security setting... so I changed that to WPA2 and then it works.
In my case, I see different device have different tolerance to some settings (in my case, draft N + WEP is OK with laptop, HTC HD, but not Magic), so its still worthwhile to try a few different settings, and try a public wireless access point also to double confirm?
Power save?
I have Zyxel (P-2602R-D1A) router.
I had exactly the same problem with my HTC Vox (winmo)... but that was solved by boosting the WiFi in the phone.
WiFi -> Best performance
So Im guessing magic is in some WiFi "power save" mode...
I dont know how this works, but I thought maybe you could change some WiFi settings behind the hood - that is if the hardware is capable of it.
Zyxel (P-2602R-D1A) router
I am having the same issue with this router as the other posters. The phone connects perfectly and reports an excellent signal, but barely sends or receives any data. I have used a terminal emulator to ping the router and it reports an 82% packet loss. This must be a big problem for many Danish users as it is the standard wifi router provided by two of the major ISP's.
same issue here with my vodafone uk magic.
wifi connects and i can browse for a few seconds then get a connection error and can't browse until i re-start wifi on the magic...
i've actually given up using wifi at home now due to this.
router is a talktalk supplied Huawei Echolife HG520b using 128 bit WEP
i can connect fine via wifi at the office so i don't think it's an issue with the handset, just with certain routers or router configs...
this issue has been reported on the vodafone uk forums but as yet no solution.

Hi
I just received my htc hero, and I really love it.
The only problem is, is that when i try to browse the web it doesnt load webpages. My WiFi is signal is good, i even removed the WEP key but still no succes, and on my old iPhone I can browse the web using the same WiFi connection
Does anyone know what the problem is?
Mike
Can you use the internet on your pc? Is your router setup properly?
yep everything is good..
does obtain an address ??
yes its 192.168.1.101
also if connected, select the menu key and hit advanced, make sure its not set to a fixed (static) address unless you need that.
I have mine set to 14 channels too... not that I probably need that...
i did that and it is not static also set it on 14 channels but no effect
well i had that issue when i just got my hero phone. everything was fine, signal was excellent, dhcp was ok , and it even got an ip but there was no data connection present. The only solution was to update the router's driver. In my case, it was a d link 524.try that too. ( just to precise that i had no problems with my previous phones with the router)
Another thing is to try setting the router to g mode only.

what type of router do u have? u might want to search for a hacked driver for it. o know for a fact that u can find a lot for linksys.
try to connect to other AP's just to confirm that the problem is a compatibility issue bet ur phone and ur specific router and not the phone itself.
I got the same problem.
at home it works great with the router.
But at another router by my girl,
it connects to the router but the Internet doesn't work.
Sometimes it works for about 3 minutes.
I couldn't find the problem and her laptop works great
with that router.
The router is a Sitecom Wl-173.
Do you have the same router?
I am having a similar issue. It will work for a few minutes and then although the router signal says good I get no data coming through.
This is only a recent development though as I upgraded from a Linksys WRT54G router to a Linksys WRT160NL (which is Wirless-N), now I know that the Hero doesn't support N but the router is set to mixed mode as I have more G devices than N in my house so it should still work fine.
I will try tonight though swapping the router over to just work in G mode and see how I get on.
Its been suggested that the stock Linksys firmware on all models has issues with the Hero, which is why my old router was OK as it was running Tomato firmware instead of stock Linksys.
I guess I'll just have to wait until a 3rd party releases one for the WRT160NL
I had the same problem with my D-Link 524, i changed it to a netgear and internet has worked perfectly on my Hero since. It is a problem with the D-Link firmware and how it communicates with the Hero.
I had a similar problem with my router. What did it for me was to disable all security stuff (WEP / WPA) AND access control (i.e. define which devices may connect to your router). Then try to surf via hero. If surfing works, switch back on security stuff, surfing should still work. At least it did for me.

I second this, however,if you still have the Di 524,you should know that an update is out and it fixes the connectivity problem.

The wifi-stack in the kernel on the hero doesn't work well with many APs. With D-link I've found problems when the boxes run in 802.11n with b/g compatibility. The results are best with the AP locked at 802.11g.

my wi fi modem's model is "inca IM-205NX" can you google it? i cannot enter a website link on forum because of new user
i have some news i guess i will solve the problem
when i enter my modem surface, i see modem passward.. as i write before, my modem is inca, and security type Wpa/wpa2 psk..
when i change security type from Wpa/wpa2 psk..to non-security, i can access my wi fi connection. i mean if there is no password on modem, i can reach but it can be dangerous, hackers can intrude....
i will change my modem settings until solve wi fi problem and i will notify you
okey the problem has been solved guys....
i have entered my modem's surface and changed Security type from WPA*Wpa2 psk to Wep and restart both devices
Web is not so secure rather than WPA*Wpa2 psk but the important point is that s4 is working with wi fi

So, you could enter the passcode in hex. There's a small chance this could help. You'd have to do the same on the phone obviously as well. Actually, I just realized I don't have that option on my phone (and old Dinc2) so may not even be an option.

Galaxy S4 WiFi problem too
I dont see why this went to a router issue...?? I am having the same problem with the WiFi on my one day old S4. It is almost like the signal freezes because it still shows I am connected with a strong signal but nothing works. I have never encountered a problem before with any other devices(S2, S3 Note2, multple tablets) and saying that it is a router issue and saying that i have to disable security or get a new router is not a solution!
I have seen this same post on multiple forums and yahoo answers but nothing as far as a real answer to the issue or to what is causing the problem. PS...there are two new S4's in the house and both having the same issue....
I'm having the same problem, Brazilian S4, at my girlfriend's house, I could not connect to Wifi, the modem is a Fiberhome HG110-B.
Same issues here unfortunately. I think it's the router. Wifi at work is fine. Wifi at home has issues. That's a bummer because I love my Amped Wireless Router at home.
Same issue
Hi Guys,
So my S4 is also just a day old, and I am having the same issue, tried everything, only connects when I remove my wifi security(obviously not ideal), I am brand new to Android, jumped ship from Apple .
I dont have then exact model number with me now(at work) but my router is a trendNET something something 335.
All my other devices connect to my wireless without issues accept my S4, it is very annoying, we are still being screwed over by our Mobile Operators in South Africa, hence the fact that my wireless is so important to me..
Thanks for the help!
actually we have to wait for new update... hopefully samsung will solve that problem...
i am now using with low securtiy (wep) but i don have any choice now
My fix
My FIX
Hey dudes and chicks,
I used to have this problem too with my s4. Connecting just a minute or two and after it would just lose connection. At first i thought it had to do with something from the hardware, but i figured that was not the problem since it did have a stable wifi connection at my uni.
So the problem for most of the people is within the router. Here's how i solved it for me. (I have a Sitecom Wireless Media Router 300N WL-350 with 2.4 and 5 ghz, so the steps might differ a bit if you have different router)
-------------------------------------
1. Login to your router
2. Go to the setting for wireless 2.4 (probably radio 1) (For Sitecom go to tab Basic> subtab Wireless 2.4 GHz)
So what i changed here is the 802.11 mode. (there are several modes like: just 802.11b, just 802.11g, just 802.11n, mixed 802.11b and 802.11g, mixed 802.11g and 802.11n ........)
>>> I Put It On: "mixed 802.11g and 802.11n"<<< (it used to be on mixed 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n)
3. Secondly i disabled Auto Channel Scan. This allowed me to select a Wireless Channel (frequency/channel).
>>>I Chose the highest channel ("2.472 GHz - CH13")<<<
4. I used to have the Transmission Rate at the option "best (automatically)"
>>>I changed this to the option: "54" (Mbit/s)<<<
5. I have channel width at the option: "auto 20/40 MHz" (but it always used to be this one)
Furthermore i have the following settings:
> Security mode: "WPA - Personal"
> WPA Mode: "WPA or WPA2"
> Cipher Type: "TKIP and AES"
------------------------------------
Now running stable for more than 6 hours (incl heavy use like youtube and movie streaming from samba server). I believe that step 2, 3 and 4 are the most important ones. If this does not work immediately, try to play a bit with step 3 and 4
Im not that technical but if you have questions feel free to ask.
Help out your fellow Galaxy mate by letting them know whether this worked or not ;-p
Ill also post my fix at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253471
Greetings,
ps sorry if i made some grammer mistakes, not my native language
Hello guys .. so I just got my N6P four days ago .. when I first opened it and tried to connect to my home WIFI network .. it refused to do so .. it didn't even detect my network no matter how close I'm to the router .. and strangely it detected every single WIFI network around my house .. all of them .. I tried lots of things including an early factory reset "I think I've made the fastest factory reset in history after only half an hour opening the box LOL " and it didn't work .. I received 4 security updates using my data and it didn't work .. It didn't actually detect the network except for when I changed the network name from the router's page "It was on marshmallow back then"
Now I thought that it got fixed and everything was alright .. I received the official Nougat update the day after this and all worked so fine .. until I disconnected my router and re-opened it .. the mobile didn't detect the network .. AGAIN !
and again it was detecting all the networks around us .. so I changed the network name again and it worked !
now as you can imagine .. this happened with me another 3 times in the past three days .. and it's really annoying .. the mobile is just fantastic but this issue gets under my skin .
any help guys ?
thanks in advance
Any help?

How many other Wi-Fi hotspots have you tested your phone with...Friend's house, School, Public, etc? If your phone will see and connect to those, then the issue is your router.
Another thought is you say the phone "can't detect my network". If you mean cannot SEE the network, then you may have the router set to not broadcast the AP. You can still connect using "hidden networks" OR just set your router to broadcast the AP which is the default. Lastly, most routers are dual band, meaning 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Usually each has it's own password (and security settings). Try to connecting to each one, and make sure your security settings are compatible with the phone. (eg. WPA2-PSK AES) vs TKIP. Sounds like you may have some router Wi-Fi configuration issues, more than a phone issue. BUT the first step is to test with other known working Wi-Fi AP's.
I had the same, trying three roms within a few hours.
In the end I had to change a router setting, from "channel 13" to "auto".

Well.. It was my first thought that it was a router configuration issue and I tried all of these things.. Unfortunately nothing worked except for changing the SSID.. What irritates me the most that it already can see and connect to any other wifi "friend's school's etc" it only happens with my own home network.. And my own N6P only.. No other device is affected.. I'm still working on it so yeah

Unfortunately it's not an option.. I live in a country where it's really difficult to get a nexus in here in the first place
But yeah that would have been my first option if it was easy

Somehow this worked!
I don't understand how .. Or why my phone was the only one affected.. But I'm glad it's done
Thanks my friend
Glad to be able to help someone, usually it's me that needs help
I recently picked up an 8 Pro and an 8t.
Same issue.
Can connect to wifi, no internet.
Reset router, tried all different security settings, forced both on to 2.4 and 5ghz bands only, changed channels on the router, factory resets, used device MAC, Bluetooth off, etc.
No go. I can't get them to connect, period.
Asus AC86U and AC5300 in a mesh setup. I even took the mesh setup down and just used the 86u.
All other devices on my network have no issues, including a 6t, 7 Pro and a 7t. Just the 8 Pro and 8t. Both brand new, received this week. Updated to the latest official 11 OS from OnePlus.
20+ devices on the network with no issues.
I have searched the net high and low to resolve the issue. Plenty of reports of the same issues, no solid resolution. Plenty of bug reports sent to OnePlus.
Any known fixes would be great, that aren't listed above.
Your oneplus devices, are they rooted?
Or pure stock? Where did you get them? Completely official? Which variant?
Wifi being borked is a common symptom of having an incorrect boot.img installed, usually happens when rooting and using an incorrect patched boot.img, phone will boot and will appear ok but wifi won't work.
As the same symptom has happened on two identical devices i'd say there are two main possibilities off the top of my head.
1. If the devices have been unlocked and rooted, then they weren't done properly and have the wrong boot img
2. You have a limit set on your router, get a third phone and set up a hotspot, see if the wifi is functional to eliminate the phones, then just need to troubleshoot your router.
If the phones are pure stock and functional on other networks, and you can add an additional device to your router (one that hasn't been added before) then that's odd.
Did you change the name of your router and the wifi networks have synced over?
remove any previously saved wifi networks from both devices, then try again.
I have the same issue and no fix...

Both phones stock, new out of the box.
Connected both phones to a Hotspot to get them updated to the most recent official releases.
Still the same issues.
As stated in OP, I have searched the net high and low for a fix.
Seems to be a common problem, that hasn't really been addressed.
I don't rule out my network, but again, what more can I change that I haven't already?
20+ devices on the same network, without a problem.
Just doesn't make sense.

So you were able to connect to a hotspot over WiFi just not your router? Have you tried other routers? I recently switched my router and my oneplus (which worked fine on the previous router) I ky connects to the 5ghzfrequency. Will not connect to 2.4ghz no matter what. It also works fine with the routers at work. Don't know why, I've tried everything, but it refused to connect at that frequency on that specific netgear router.
Hi, try to change between WPA2-PSK/TKIP or AES settings.

Hang on if your phones were able to connect to a hotspot then it's your router or the signal from your router.
A WiFi hotspot is a normal WiFi signal so there's nothing wrong with the phones.
I'd say it's the router.
Go to 192.168.0.1 on a web browser on a device connected to your router, check the device list, is there a max allowed devices? 20 isn't an uncommon limitation.
Delete the WiFi SSID from your phone (forget network)

OnePlus is capable of all of them.
But you're on the right track, it's the router.
It has to be
Apologies, i meant on router check security settings of wifi.
