i dont know what does that mean but my modem model is
inca IM-205NX

Does your WIFI have SSID broadcast enabled? I've run into issues with some devices when I had that disabled. What about connecting to other access points?

My galaxy s2 is working and also samsung notebook.. but there is a problem in s4..... i really dont know .... what does it cause by?
my wi fi modem's model is "inca IM-205NX" can you google it? i cannot enter a website link on forum because of new user

i have some news i guess i will solve the problem
when i enter my modem surface, i see modem passward.. as i write before, my modem is inca, and security type Wpa/wpa2 psk..
when i change security type from Wpa/wpa2 psk..to non-security, i can access my wi fi connection. i mean if there is no password on modem, i can reach but it can be dangerous, hackers can intrude....
i will change my modem settings until solve wi fi problem and i will notify you

okey the problem has been solved guys....
i have entered my modem's surface and changed Security type from WPA*Wpa2 psk to Wep and restart both devices
Web is not so secure rather than WPA*Wpa2 psk but the important point is that s4 is working with wi fi

This is not a solution. Wep can be cracked in 2 minutes and somebody can style your Internet. Change back to wpa2 psk. Changing to wep isn't the smartest selection

Do you have an option to enter the passcode in hex? Seems I ran across an issue some time in the past where I had to do that. Seemed an odd solution but worked for me at the time.

Try with WPA2 TKIP or even WPA, but no WEP. WPA should work. There seems to be something wrong with your modem. Isn't there any firmware update for it ?

So, you could enter the passcode in hex. There's a small chance this could help. You'd have to do the same on the phone obviously as well. Actually, I just realized I don't have that option on my phone (and old Dinc2) so may not even be an option.

Galaxy S4 WiFi problem too
I dont see why this went to a router issue...?? I am having the same problem with the WiFi on my one day old S4. It is almost like the signal freezes because it still shows I am connected with a strong signal but nothing works. I have never encountered a problem before with any other devices(S2, S3 Note2, multple tablets) and saying that it is a router issue and saying that i have to disable security or get a new router is not a solution!
I have seen this same post on multiple forums and yahoo answers but nothing as far as a real answer to the issue or to what is causing the problem. PS...there are two new S4's in the house and both having the same issue....

I'm having the same problem, Brazilian S4, at my girlfriend's house, I could not connect to Wifi, the modem is a Fiberhome HG110-B.

Same issues here unfortunately. I think it's the router. Wifi at work is fine. Wifi at home has issues. That's a bummer because I love my Amped Wireless Router at home.

Same issue
Hi Guys,
So my S4 is also just a day old, and I am having the same issue, tried everything, only connects when I remove my wifi security(obviously not ideal), I am brand new to Android, jumped ship from Apple .
I dont have then exact model number with me now(at work) but my router is a trendNET something something 335.
All my other devices connect to my wireless without issues accept my S4, it is very annoying, we are still being screwed over by our Mobile Operators in South Africa, hence the fact that my wireless is so important to me..
Thanks for the help!

actually we have to wait for new update... hopefully samsung will solve that problem...
i am now using with low securtiy (wep) but i don have any choice now

My fix
My FIX
Hey dudes and chicks,
I used to have this problem too with my s4. Connecting just a minute or two and after it would just lose connection. At first i thought it had to do with something from the hardware, but i figured that was not the problem since it did have a stable wifi connection at my uni.
So the problem for most of the people is within the router. Here's how i solved it for me. (I have a Sitecom Wireless Media Router 300N WL-350 with 2.4 and 5 ghz, so the steps might differ a bit if you have different router)
-------------------------------------
1. Login to your router
2. Go to the setting for wireless 2.4 (probably radio 1) (For Sitecom go to tab Basic> subtab Wireless 2.4 GHz)
So what i changed here is the 802.11 mode. (there are several modes like: just 802.11b, just 802.11g, just 802.11n, mixed 802.11b and 802.11g, mixed 802.11g and 802.11n ........)
>>> I Put It On: "mixed 802.11g and 802.11n"<<< (it used to be on mixed 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n)
3. Secondly i disabled Auto Channel Scan. This allowed me to select a Wireless Channel (frequency/channel).
>>>I Chose the highest channel ("2.472 GHz - CH13")<<<
4. I used to have the Transmission Rate at the option "best (automatically)"
>>>I changed this to the option: "54" (Mbit/s)<<<
5. I have channel width at the option: "auto 20/40 MHz" (but it always used to be this one)
Furthermore i have the following settings:
> Security mode: "WPA - Personal"
> WPA Mode: "WPA or WPA2"
> Cipher Type: "TKIP and AES"
------------------------------------
Now running stable for more than 6 hours (incl heavy use like youtube and movie streaming from samba server). I believe that step 2, 3 and 4 are the most important ones. If this does not work immediately, try to play a bit with step 3 and 4
Im not that technical but if you have questions feel free to ask.
Help out your fellow Galaxy mate by letting them know whether this worked or not ;-p
Ill also post my fix at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253471
Greetings,
ps sorry if i made some grammer mistakes, not my native language

WiFi data transfer problem

I have a ZyXEL P-2602HW-D1A Wireless router. I have tried all combinations of security, even NO SECURITY WHATSOEVER, and still the device won't transfer data.
Not working;
Firmware: 1.5, Build: CR817
Wifi Router: ZyXEL P-2602HW-D1A
Security: Tried All; WPA2, WPA, WEP & None.
Problem: Connect under all conditions but no data is sent
Please help.
Have you tried another WiFi access point to check the devices WiFi module actually functions?
No, I haven't tried that yet, but don't really see the point... I've connected effortlessly to the same WiFi network with my HTC Touch Diamond.

For some reason my N800 wouldn't connect to MY ZyXEL P-2602HW-D1A unless I set the device (N800) to disable any kind of wifi powersaving features it had.
On another note, how did you get your hands on the device so early? I'm guessing you are using a Cybercity internet connection? (I'm in copenhagen myself)
edit: I actually came to that solution when i noticed I could connect to OTHER accespoints, but not the Zyxel ones.
Same problem here in France with a Freebox as router
I've noticed under the router's WLAN client list that the device does not have a "Host Name". Would that present a problem?
It is assigned an IP address by the router without any problems, though.
Also the device seems to lose connection and reconnect constantly (every 5-10 seconds).
I done some digging around in the router settings and found an "AnyIP" feature. Would that possibly help?
There are a number of issues floating around. Support for WPA2 seems iffy and some people can just change to WPA or WEP and all work fine.
There are however a number of people (such as me) who can get a connection perfectly, it shows connection OK, they get an IP from the DHCP server etc, they can even browse a page for a few seconds... but after that no data is sent and everything times out. This is happening on any security from none through to WPA2.
I have seen no solution to this anywhere and believe me I have looked. Some people have given up and got a new router, but this is not a solution.
Can someone confirm that this has been recognised as a fault with the magic and is being investigated, rather then assuming it's a user or router error. There are far too many instances of this across many brands of router for it not to be an issue with the HTC Magic.

What I mean is have you tested the device on ANY other AP except the ZyXEL?
No, but since I'm by far the only one having this issue (try searching the web; see my last post), I didn't feel it was necessary. Just want some input from xda-dev that might solve the problem, if any.

I've had exactly the same problem earlier with the N800 on the zyxel. Exactly how you describe it.
Did you find out if you could turn off any powersaving features on the HTC?
same problem here
in france with a freebox
I don't exaclty know what router is in the box
but I have excalty the same
I set on never the wifi sleep(powersaving) mode.
i found it in setting wifi menu button then advanced and "never"
but the problem is still here

Could be DHCP lease time problem. Did anyone of you tried to set up Magic with Static IP?
Yes, I tried that also - didn't help one bit.

I also have this problem. Im in Denmark with a Zyxel P660HW-p1.
Another user of Cybercity in Denmark with the same problem.
ZyXEL P-660HW-D1
The android is the only device that doesn't work. I have tried with Iphone and laptops.
I've tried to change the settings on the router to no avail.
Enable 802.11g+ mode [on/off]
RTS/CTS Threshold [2432/4096]
RTS/CTS Threshold [2432/4096]
Max. Frame Burst [600/1800]
The device shows up in the device list with no hostname, the HTC Magic gets the right ip address (using the program WhatIsMyIp to view it)
I had the same problem before, when I set my TP-LINK draft N router with WEP security my HD can see it, connect to it (but speed was slow tho), and my HTC Magic just keep saying its not in range. However, when I set it to open security it works, so I recognise its probably the security setting... so I changed that to WPA2 and then it works.
In my case, I see different device have different tolerance to some settings (in my case, draft N + WEP is OK with laptop, HTC HD, but not Magic), so its still worthwhile to try a few different settings, and try a public wireless access point also to double confirm?
Power save?
I have Zyxel (P-2602R-D1A) router.
I had exactly the same problem with my HTC Vox (winmo)... but that was solved by boosting the WiFi in the phone.
WiFi -> Best performance
So Im guessing magic is in some WiFi "power save" mode...
I dont know how this works, but I thought maybe you could change some WiFi settings behind the hood - that is if the hardware is capable of it.
Zyxel (P-2602R-D1A) router
I am having the same issue with this router as the other posters. The phone connects perfectly and reports an excellent signal, but barely sends or receives any data. I have used a terminal emulator to ping the router and it reports an 82% packet loss. This must be a big problem for many Danish users as it is the standard wifi router provided by two of the major ISP's.
same issue here with my vodafone uk magic.
wifi connects and i can browse for a few seconds then get a connection error and can't browse until i re-start wifi on the magic...
i've actually given up using wifi at home now due to this.
router is a talktalk supplied Huawei Echolife HG520b using 128 bit WEP
i can connect fine via wifi at the office so i don't think it's an issue with the handset, just with certain routers or router configs...
this issue has been reported on the vodafone uk forums but as yet no solution.

can't connect to my home wifi

i got my new omnia 7 today and i can't connect to my home wifi router. i tried to disable security, tried wep.....but it allways says "couldn't reach wifi network" or "password incorect". i tried to reset my router and my omnia 7, but nothing helped.
thanks in advance!
today, i connected just fine on one open ap, and one wep protected ap, but i still can't connect to my home wi fi ap. really confusing. my laptop and old htc prophet connects just fine, but my new omnia 7 won't. any advice?
thanks!
ok, so since no one tried to help me here, i tried every single thing on my router and it seems that the phone can't handle b+g standards, so i switched to g allone and now i'm able to connect. i hope this will help someone else too.
Nice tip
Hey man,i guess no one had the problem or didnt know what to do,anyway i had a differrent problem, when i was close to my router (no more than 8 meters) my phone connected normaly to the wifi, but once i was in my room which is further away from the router the phone wouldnt connect although it showed the wifi router signal had two bars,i tried your method in switching to g only and it worked ,now i connect to my wifi with no problem, thx for the tip ,hope they fix the issue in mango, cheers.

I have the same problem with my wifi router.
My phone is HTC 7 Throphy.
I have to reset my router every time my phone needs to connect to it.
My router is configured for DHCP.
I noticed that if there is a wireless device connected to my wifi network,
my phone gives that error and cannot connect.
If I try to connect to a wifi network which is secured with a password,
I always get 'Incorrect password' message.
I try reseting my phone with no effect.
I'm still looking for a solution.
Same prob here....

no problem man.
it seems that there are many troubles with wifi on windows phone 7 and many users are complaining. i hope too that mango will fix most of those issues. mango will bring possibility to connect to hidden network.
for other users posting on this topic, i suggest that they try switching to g standard only, becose i too had this incorect password message allways poping up before the switching. it can be done in the router web configuration interface. u get in usualiy by typing 192.168.1.1 in your adress bar.

My router is on g standart only but I still get that error.
well, if you know what you'r doing, you could try different configurations in your router. play with the settings and see if it will work, but again, only if you'r sure you won't screw up anything.
I found a fix.
In my router settings I changed the Chanel from 6 to 10.
I think the problem is that I have too many wireless devices in a small room.
you lucky bastards with wifi connectivity.. i have a pppoe account on my wifi and there is no way for me to connect to it whatsoever.
if you have access to your router settings, you can change briged to routed connection.
for some reason, i can't access router! i tried contacting my ISP, did not want to die waiting for an answer.
but i remember trying to do that before, and not knowing how.
Could you post a link with the instructions, zemljak?

i dont know if you are receiving my pm's, i dont see it them in sent.
I have this intermittent connection on a netgear wireless router too, its set to use dhcp, and only fix is a reboot of the router.
I think the phone is storing an ip (dhcp assigned) which when you reconnect to your wifi may have been re-assigned (ip lease) to a.n.other device in the meantime.
So, lets say on Monday I obtained 192.168.0.2
didnt access the wifi for a day or so
lease expires (router)
a.n.other device connects, e.g. iPad, obtained 192.168.0.2 via dhcp
then you try and use your wifi on your phone and it doesnt connect.....
so I think it might be storing the ip address, rather than checking for a new one each time it connects, or something similar.
Over a half year I had the same problem. But now I fixed it, by simply change the wlan-key, because in my old key I had letters like ä, ö, ü. That didn´t work. May be this works for you.
FIX!

Hi,
I have Nokia Lumia 800 with Windows Phone 7.5 and also have problems with my home wifi connection. Firstly I had an old pentagram router and couldn't to connect with it, I tried WPA, WPA 2, WEP, WPA 2 mixed or even no security, always had the same problem, shows "network don't respond".
The phone itself connects to other networks, but not my home network.
I thought that it was problem with my router (but every other device had no problems with conenction, ipad, galaxy s, laptops or even TV), so I took another router (techniklab) and I have the same problem.
On both routers in "active clients" I saw the phone when it was trying to connect, logs looks like:
Code:
Aug 20 22:13:31 wlan0: WPA2-AES PSK authentication in progress...
Aug 20 22:13:31 wlan0: A wireless client is associated - 50:2D:1D:E2:8A:87
Aug 20 22:13:31 wlan0: Open and authenticated
Aug 20 22:13:53 wlan0: A wireless client is disassociated - 50:2D:1D:E2:8A:87
Windows on my phone is up to date, router firmware also.
I can add that from couple of days I have Windows 8 (on PC) and it also cannot connect to my router, could it be some problems in new microsoft windows??
Any suggestions?

Wifi issue related to root?

Hi Folks,
I have been postponing this post but nothing ive seemed to do has worked. I THINK after i rooted my issues started. I am unable to browse the net or anything when connected to my wifi. I have reset the router, forgotten and rejoined the network with no avail. All my other devices do not have this issue. Im not really sure what else to say so maybe some of you gurus could pick my brain. Though this is a wifi only issue and on this network. When connected to other networks im fine. My setup is as follows. I have a hard line going from the router the ISP provided in the other end of the house to the router in my room. Like i said my phone is the only device that has issues on this network.
thanks in advance.

That's a pretty strange issue, not sure there is going to be much help... I've had some strange, random issues with my S5. I had issues with wireless, xposed and some other apps after rooting the first time. I got tired of it and used Odin to reflash the stock firmware, then performed a factory reset and rooted afterwords. I haven't had any problems at all after doing this... In all honesty, that's the route I would go if I were you. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, hope you get sorted out

Just wanted to agree with BadKarma on this. I've not had your exact issue, but I have had some similar stuff after rooting originally. I used Odin to go back to stock and rooted again and have been no issues since. Hope it works out. . .

Can you reset the settings in the router via your pc?
Try connecting standing right next to the router. I had this issue with my Note 2 and it ended up being a physical issue with the wireless chip or antennas. It's actually the reason I'm not on a S5.
Not that u want to hear this, but I had to replace my router for the same reason. My router would only pick up certain devices, had to do with hardware and firewall security settings.

First and foremost you have to isolate the issue to either ur phone or the router. In order to do that its very simple.... can you connect to wifi outside of your house like starbucks or friends wfii? If the answer is yes than the issue lies solely with your router. Let me know what you find out and I can help guide you <---- systems administrator Also please provide the make and model of your router as well as your modem and your ISP.
EDIT: I just read the line where you talk about having another router in your room. I can already tell you this is probably NOT an issue with your phone but rather your setup. The secondary router must be setup as a repeater or bridge OR on a different subnet. This gets very tricky for average home user and I do not recommend you tackle it on your own. Also your main router has to be able to play nice with the secondary and if it's one provided by your ISP it's probably a POS. Also your phone is probably not the only device having issues with this setup.... its the only one you are noticing having issues. Android OS is very sensitive to weird wifi setups and anything out of the norm will set it off. It's actually a great tool in diagnosing wifi issues.

Name N300 Wireless Router
Model F9K1002v5 (01B)
Firmware 5.00.15(Nov 1 2013)
Serial No. 12349GC2508237
Boot Loader 0.12
I use my tablet and other pcs within this wifi. It is under a different subnet as well. (i think so been a while since ive done any networking) The main router that comes in has the standard IP 192.168.1.1 and the IP for my router in my room (basically set up like this since my room is quite far and gets bad signal from the main router, Cable in -> Main Router -> Hardwire hooked into a port -> ethernet run to my room -> Connected to a port on the wireless router) 192.168.2.1. My ISP is Optimumn Online. My wifi was working fine until about 10 mins ago. seems to happen so often. I did change the security a while back to TKIP + AES on the router and made sure it was the same on the phone and it was working fine for days until like i said about 10 mins ago.

Not that u want to hear this, but I had to replace my router for the same reason. My router would only pick up certain devices, had to do with hardware and firewall security settings.

This leads me to think that perhaps the router (however old or new) may have a setting, or an actual limit, on how many devices connect to it.
If not that, perhaps if you rooted, and tried removing bloat, you may have been a bit overzealous and removed something related to WiFi and are now having this issue as a result.
I have only removed the list of apps and bloat that have been posted on Ricks Rom HERE. The ONLY problem I have seen since removing this list, was that I can no longer access PhotoVault correctly. Gives me an error saying that it has no connection to the database, but my 4G is working fine at the time as I was downloading via steam and streaming a movie, and playing a PC game at the same time...

You have the right setup with a different subnet. It's possible the main router is assigning the same IP address that your router has to another device. It would be best if you picked up another router that has repeater capabilities and set it up in repeater mode. Also reserve an IP address for your router from the main router to avoid IP conflicts.
Another possibility is simply the wifi on your router is deteriorating and it's time for a replacement. I recommend the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 if you don't mind spending the $$$. If your on a bit of a budget the Netgear N900 (WNDR4500v2) is the next best thing that supports repeater mode.
well its been still working intermediary. I have to unplug the router and plug it back in then i can browse the net on my phone. idk if id like to lay out that kind of money for a new router. there has to be something else thats causing it. i set the router to reboot everyday, also my phone. its odd though. sometimes it works sometimes it dosent.

WIFI Trouble

Hello guys .. so I just got my N6P four days ago .. when I first opened it and tried to connect to my home WIFI network .. it refused to do so .. it didn't even detect my network no matter how close I'm to the router .. and strangely it detected every single WIFI network around my house .. all of them .. I tried lots of things including an early factory reset "I think I've made the fastest factory reset in history after only half an hour opening the box LOL " and it didn't work .. I received 4 security updates using my data and it didn't work .. It didn't actually detect the network except for when I changed the network name from the router's page "It was on marshmallow back then"
Now I thought that it got fixed and everything was alright .. I received the official Nougat update the day after this and all worked so fine .. until I disconnected my router and re-opened it .. the mobile didn't detect the network .. AGAIN !
and again it was detecting all the networks around us .. so I changed the network name again and it worked !
now as you can imagine .. this happened with me another 3 times in the past three days .. and it's really annoying .. the mobile is just fantastic but this issue gets under my skin .
any help guys ?
thanks in advance
Any help?

How many other Wi-Fi hotspots have you tested your phone with...Friend's house, School, Public, etc? If your phone will see and connect to those, then the issue is your router.
Another thought is you say the phone "can't detect my network". If you mean cannot SEE the network, then you may have the router set to not broadcast the AP. You can still connect using "hidden networks" OR just set your router to broadcast the AP which is the default. Lastly, most routers are dual band, meaning 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Usually each has it's own password (and security settings). Try to connecting to each one, and make sure your security settings are compatible with the phone. (eg. WPA2-PSK AES) vs TKIP. Sounds like you may have some router Wi-Fi configuration issues, more than a phone issue. BUT the first step is to test with other known working Wi-Fi AP's.
I had the same, trying three roms within a few hours.
In the end I had to change a router setting, from "channel 13" to "auto".

Well.. It was my first thought that it was a router configuration issue and I tried all of these things.. Unfortunately nothing worked except for changing the SSID.. What irritates me the most that it already can see and connect to any other wifi "friend's school's etc" it only happens with my own home network.. And my own N6P only.. No other device is affected.. I'm still working on it so yeah

Unfortunately it's not an option.. I live in a country where it's really difficult to get a nexus in here in the first place
But yeah that would have been my first option if it was easy

Somehow this worked!
I don't understand how .. Or why my phone was the only one affected.. But I'm glad it's done
Thanks my friend
Glad to be able to help someone, usually it's me that needs help

S8 Internet connection may not be available issue

Just got the S8 and I have 3 Wi-Fi access points at home to cover the whole house. My S8 has been registered with the passwords for all of the APs but it continually rejects the connections with an exclamation mark after the WiFi icon having connected and then shown a message that the Internet connection may not be available. The Internet connection is available as other devices are connected and using it perfectly. If I switch the Wi-Fi on and off and reboot the S8 the issue corrects itself but I should not have to go through that nonsense every time I come home and want to use my Wi-Fi. I have explored the advanced options on the connection settings and they appear to be quite limited (DHCP Etc). Is there some way to solve this issue? I have no problem with other android devices connecting to the same hotspots. Any ideas that might lead to a solution would be appreciated.

I had this problem when i first got my s8 from vodafone but when i got this latest update it's been good no issues with internet anymore.
I have this problem as well with my S8 from Verizon. Worked flawlessly for a week and them today I get this error. Very frustrating. I know the SMG955U from Verizon is already unlocked but is there any way to put the International ROM on the phone seeing that the Verizon and the International are the same?
I've tried all the resets etc and the WiFi connects but I get the 'Internet connection may not be available' message.
Update 27/04/2017
Thanks for the reply. My S8 developed some interesting issues including the switching on of 'do not disturb' mode intermittently and along with the Wi-Fi issue the mobile data was failing in areas where a full 4G signal was present. Rebooting, resetting etc did not resolve the issue and I returned the phone to CPW for advice. The staff at the Glasgow store wasted no time and exchanged it on the spot after some negotiation with their technical service centre. Full marks to CPW for the prompt service and I can report that all of the previous issues have now been resolved with the replacement handset. I thought it worthwhile to post this information so that others who experience similar issues may be able to get a similar resolution.
Poor WIFI performance
I also have issues with the wifi of the phone, /i will get the terminal replace some time today or next week.
1. WIFI keeps disconnecting, actually it's flapping connct&disconnect for 5-10 min until it finally connects, on this matter I have seen on the acces point that it tried to allocate an ip from an unknown without asking DHCP server for an IP renew it actually tries to alocate itself the last known ip, and clearly disconnects because of lack of internet access, this happens normally as power saving mode is on, disabeling power saving and assigning a static ip on the phone seems to resolve the issue.
2. poor wifi signal... no fix for this thus far
- i have 580Mbps speed connection on my S5 and only 120-240Mbps on my S8, steaming not working and connection in general very bad, time ots and stuf, although I position myself at 10cm away from the wifi router antenas i only get 540Mbps signal, although I have an AC1750 router , s5 gets 840 in the same spot... I think the modem(that is part of the Exynos chipset) does not work wekll with Atheros based AP´s , I have an Archer C7 with 2.4ghz QCA9558 chipset capable of 450 Mbps theoretical speed, but only uses 2 antenas as s8 only has 2 from my knowledge and reaches a max of 140Mbps(should of connected at 300Mbps at 10cm in theory ) with the s8 and QCA9880-BR4A on the 5ghz side of things with a theoretical speed of 1300Mbps should work at 866 with the S8 because of the 2 antenas of the S8.
phone changed 90% of problems fixed
Hello, just got my phone replaced, tha new unit has way better wifi signal considering I hace atheros router and the phone has broadcom 43xx chipset... worth considerign changing to a broadcom router...
Hi,
I have found a solution to this problem.
1. GO to wifi settings
2. Forget the wifi network
3. CONNECT AGAIN BUT BEFORE CONNECTING GO TO ADVANCED OPTIONS AND CHOOSE STATIC INSTEAD OF AUtOMATIC. Enter in the ip address etc and connect.( It requires to be entered manually) Problem will be solved.

Change the DNS...
Hi there..
I had just the same problem with s8 plus and s7 edge(after updating to android 7.0), it kept saying "internet may not be available", I changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and tue problem solved. Go to SETTINGS》WIFI》SSID》MANGE NETWORK》change the IP SETTINGS to STATIC》then change the DNS1 to 8.8.8.8 hit save and you are good to go.
Sorry if there are any mistakes. I am new to XDA and not good in english.

I have same problem and it is very annoying. I got 2 S8 plus and both have the problem.
There are 3 WIFI Router that covers my house. I have problems saying internet might not be available every time I connect. This is very annoying. Other Phones in the house like Iphone do not have the problem.
What I noticed is that the IP range of my router is:
192.168.1.1
But my S8 says he is connected but the IP is
192.168.0.100
Anyone have same problem?
Thanks!

I found a quick work around on how to fix this temporarily until Samsung issues a patch.
just turn off 5ghz SSID broadcasting and you should be ok for now.
here is a quick how to video i made on just in case.
https://youtu.be/Nu5FjDPLn-M
I'm having a very similar problem with my home WiFi and my Verizon S8+ I bought from Samsung's website. I've tried switching from DHCP to static and entering all my info. No luck. I've also switched my dns1 to 8.8.8.8 and dns2 to 8.8.4.4, and my WiFi router is set to 2.4ghz only. No success in resolving the issue. Currently my phone will show the "internet may not be available" with the added exclaimation point for a few minutes when first connected, then the exclaimation goes away and I'll have regular full speed internet for around 25-45 seconds before it goes back to a non-internet state. Any suggestions?
Try changing in your router the security setting. If your using WPA2 AES/TKIP, change to just WPA2 TKIP and see if this works for you...
I was having the same exact issue for months. I changed to TKIP only and have been rock solid ever since. No more ! at all... I'm gonna switch to just AES today and see how that works.
Changed to WPA2-AES and within the hour had ! back and no internet. Went back to TKIP and rock solid again. Looks like a possible bug with AES to me. Sticking with wpa2-tkip setting for now.
I'm having this same exact issue.
Anyone who knows what to look for to fix this, what info or files do you need from me? I'm at the end of my tether with this ****
I am having the exact same issue on my galaxy tab s2, even on the replacement. Due to the being such an intermittent problem, it wouldn't do it when Samsung support checked it out...
This happens on both 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz frequency for me. I've tried downloading a wifi fixer, I've reset network settings, and turned off nearby device scanning. I've also tried doing what a forum suggested by changing the ip settings from dhcp to static but it wouldn't connect to wifi at all. Not sure what else to try...
I read that it may be due to nougat 7.0 software. I was suggested by Samsung to first put the tablet on safe mode (this disables third party apps, and would reveil if an app was causing the problem) but the problem still persists. Also did a hard reset on the first tablet I had but it still done the same problem...
I always thought that this was a is problem in 7.0, and was addressed in 7.1. Hopefully, when the next major update comes out, this issue will be resolved.
Oh come on Samsung!
It's been 4 months since the first post and still no solution.
And it's a basic wifi connection!
Internet may not be available! = Samsung may not be available
Heya all. First post I guess
Edit: Gah it was the second. I have to controll myself better and not spam.
So I had the same problem and tried more or less all.
My "solution" was to disable the firewall on the router which means some settings/security there was triggered. My guess is that it's the "Smart Network connection" that trigger it if the phone have both poor Wi-Fi and 4G. It then jumps back and forward = firewall detect strange behaviour and block. That's why there are so many strange "fix" related to the router - hidden network - no security - disable 5Ghz and so on.
Can someone please test asap as I have a plan But if it's not this to test
