Kernel Panic Mode, Bixby (probably) defect and impossible to enter download mode - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to fix a broken S8 Exynos version of my friend.
The problem is he probably flashed some invalid files and everything messed up where I can only get kernel panic upload mode.
Here's what I've tried:
- Combination of POWER + VOL DOWN + BIXBY to get into download mode and flash the stock ROM. Doesn't work and we are guessing the Bixby button hardware is defect.
- When booting I get the Samsung logo with pink text in the top left. Then the screen goes to kernel panic mode. Restarting does the same and there seems to be no way to get into download mode.
- In Odin, the device COM port is recognized but flashing doesn't work. It is stuck at "setup connection" and does not advance at all.
I've installed the USB drivers, rebooted removed the battery and tried again, tried ADB but debugging is not enabled and nothing works. Is this phone useless without a Bixby button or is there a way to get into download mode???
Any advice would be welcome,
Thanks

Firstly make sure you are using the modded Odin for Oreo. Not using it causes that random stuff to happen. What you can try is plug the phone in via USB, Open up Odin and load your files, do the Download mode button combo and hopefully the COM Port calls and Odin grabs it and signals it. Good luck.

Galaxy s phone to pc usb connection error screen

I got an error screen after trying to update my kernel. My phone's 3 button recovery doesn't work so i cannot go back to download mode to get it working again. Also i cant get it to go to download mode through SDK manager either. The phone doesn't connect to the computer anymore. Every time i open it it comes up with that error screen and doesn't go. Ive tried everything, taken out the battery and leaving it out for a while putting it back in still nothing. Can someone please help i cant use my phone anymore. Thanks in advance. Azzy
First requirement is Download mode not Recovery mode Home + Vol Down + PWR
That fails you need the download mode recovery jig .

Followed by a flash of stock rom via Odin .

Vibrant Bricked?

power reset or uknown upload mode
i get this message for some reason when i try to enter download mode i just flashed a froyo bootloader odin said PASS but the status bar was full so i took it out i can only get into recovery and thats it i cant boot up into anything else
EDIT: got into download mode man im so happy now here is the solution for anyone else who ever runs into this problem
To get into download mode do this:
remove battery
replace battery
Hold both volume keys.
plug in USB
at no time touch the power button.
Takes me into download mode every time!
If You Can get into download mode then I recommend just flashing to stock, (auto Reboot disabled) then flashing the Froyo Bootloaders again. Because It sounds as if you have either a mixed bootloader pack or a kernel issue or what not. I've never had an issue doing this..... and Ive done it ALOT.
EDIT: It's Early and I didn't Realize That you fixed this problem. Lol
Future note: if you move to the Gingerbread Bootloaders.... the sequence of buttons is VOL UP, and POWER.... No USB required

Note N900w8 Stuck

Hi, so the problems I am experiencing are that I tried to install Resurrection Remix ROM for my phone. I do not know where my idiot brain messed up along the way, but I installed ROM Manager on my phone, and then pressed backup current ROM, which immediately set the phone to be booting in Recovery Mode, but unfortunately wont be detected my phone. The error code is the following:
RECOVERY BOOTING:
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDRIOD ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
I tried pushing the VOLUME DOWN + POWER and the HOME buttons together to open Odin mode, but this is just stuck, as nothing happens in that mode. After several hours of trying to figure this out by myself, a frustrated me decided to come here to see if the community could help me out. Does anyone have any ideas? I really cannot afford a new phone right now :crying:
Flash twrp in odin mode.

Do you have access to a USB jig to try and force download mode?
Before pressing vol down, home, and power, is the phone powered off? What do you mean nothing happens? The phone won't power on?
Fixed, thank you for your help

What I did to solve the issue was flash a stock Andriod 4.4.2 tar file from Odin. The computer would not recognize the device sometimes, however, I did manage to get it through. After that I managed to get everything figured out and get Reserruction Remix ROM on my phone. Thank you for your guys help!

Stuck in downloading mode after trying to root using CF-Root

I tried to root my grand prime sm-g530h using the oding flashable file from https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/#odin. I tried this version https://download.chainfire.eu/945/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-fortunave3g-fortunave3gxx-smg530h.zip to root my phone. I enabled usb debugging before rooting. Then backed up all my data. Then I went into download mode by pressing "volume down+home+power" and connected my phone to laptop. Odin was already running in administrative mode and it detected my device. I loaded the file using the ap button and pressed the start button.
At this point odin said "Reset" and my phone restarted automatically into the download mode again. and it got stuck there. nothing was changing in odin either, the last log was "Removed".
I searched for solutions online and one of them said to uncheck "auto-reboot" before starting. I did that. and this time odin said "pass". then I unplugged my phone and removed the battery and tried to go into recovery mode using "volume up+home+power" but my device keeps on rebooting itself. and if I just try to switch on my device using the power button it goes into download/odin mode directly.
I searched for solutions again and tried the following: pressed the "volume down+home+power" but when the warning came instead of pressing volume up(continue), I pressed volume down(restart), but nothing happens! it still goes into odin mode directly and is stuck there!
I don't know what to do anymore! Can anyone please help? I don't know how to fix it!
I have the same problem!! Please HELP!!

Can't get to download mode after "error occurred while updating device SW". s7 edge

Can't get to download mode after "error occurred while updating device SW". s7 edge
While trying to upgrade my Claro galaxy s7 edge from android 6.0 to 7.0 using Smart Switch my phone crashed and the software got corrupted. (couldn't do it through manual/automatic update).
Now i'm stuck on the Window : "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software". I tried both the emergency Software Recovery and Device Initialization but both failed with error "failed to run firmware upgrade unknown error occurred". Tried it in different computer, restarting both the devices, reinstalling device driver. Nth worked.
Finally i searched forums and tried to flash custom rom using ODIN. Thing is while downloading the ROM my phone went to Download mode when i pressed "Volume up" + Power + Home button but now the combination just does nothing and i'm stuck on the "An error has occured window". I tried 300k tool and also Both volume + power + slide in usb cable combo but nth happened. I tried to install custom rom through ODIN while in this window but ti fails after 2 mins too.
Also Pressing Volume down Power and home (recovery mode) brings me to this same window again and again. Just waiting for the battery to die and start anew.
Just 4 days with my phone. Any help to solve these problem are appreciated.

I am having the same issue after trying to flash updated ROM on my S8 via Odin. Process got to the end and said 'FAIL'. Following the reboot, I was stuck on the 'An error has occurred...' screen and every attempt to enter Download mode or recovery mode (By quickly switching to the volume up button in between reboots, as you stated) has failed. Smart Switch is not recognising my device either despite all the correct Samsung USB drivers being installed. Any ideas anyone?
Apologies for posting here on S7 forum but the problem is identical.
Did you ever fix this? I have the same problem now
