Need help from someone with same device to mimic MTP enable - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi friends. I have a customer that brought me a droid 2 turbo and it has a black screen issue. I get no display in fastboot, recovery, startup etc. However I am able to see the device with adb and in fastboot. When I push the power button it will show the home screen for 0.01 seconds then go back to black. Touch is working but I cannot see what I am clicking on. I was looking to see if anyone can help me by uploading a video of them enabling MTP over USB so I can mimic the touches and pull the data. I am 98% sure its a board issue seeing as it shows nothing in recovery etc. Therefore getting another screen will do me no good.
Hope someone can help. Thanks for reading.
I should also mentioned that I seem to have usb debug enabled but cannot accept connections. I am trying to blindly find the allow button but no success so far.

HELP Access USB-Debug with broken screen

Hello everyone
I've got a problem and I need your help. My Legend fell on the ground and now the glass and display are both broken. To access my device with adb, which I previously installed, I used DroidAtScreen. But recently I deactivated USB-Debugging eek, and now I can't enable it. I need to "recreate" every single step from the unlocked screen to Menu->Settings->Applications->Development->USB-Debugging. The first step (Menu->Settings) is easy and abvious, but I need the other ones.
Could some of you take some screenshots and upload them? I.e.:
1. Menu->Settings, then scroll down to bottom **Screenshot**
2. Scroll a little bit up until "Applications" reaches first entry **Screenshot**
3. Press first entry (=Applications) **Screenshot**
4. Press fourth entry (=Development) **Screenshot**
5. Press first entry (=USB-Debugging) *Screenshot**..
I know it may seem complicated, but it would be of tremendous help! My idea is to print out the images and lay them over the Legend to find my way to USB-Debugging
THANK YOU A LOT in advance!

Good thinking, you actually only need 4 screens, here you go...
Good luck replacing the screen! There's plently of material to work with in accesories section
If the digitiser (top glass) is broken i doubt your presses will be in the right place, I have a desire in front of me that has a crack in the top left corner of the digi and pressing "a" on the keyboard pull notification bar down
Thank you very much for the effort of taking the screenshots, but I couldn't access the settings.
The only question that remains is: Does the phone need to be in "charge only"-mode? Because right now, in fact I can access the SD-Card when mounted, so I may have to switch to charge only?
@bonesy: Thank you for the input, but the touchscreen seems to be working fine as I can turn on the phone and enter the PIN-code to unlock it, as well as call a number after opening the phone-application
ADB should work no matter what the mode...why weren't you able to access it?
I don't know... I followed all the steps, connected the phone to my Mac... all this several times, trying to press on the exact location... but haven't succeeded.
I have adb configured as well as DroidAtScreen running and also tried to access it with DDMS..., but when i use the command "adb devices" none is shown. I can access my SD-Card but can't use adb...
I may try again a few times but can't really think of any other alternative than to replace the screen, although I need to access my phone immediately.
Thanks again for all the fast answers and if anyone has an idea or some sort of walkthrough... I would appreciate it.
ADB wont work unless you are using a custom rom OR its selected already.
Maybe a USB port failure?
What do you mean? I have accessed my phone in this environment several times before, everything should be set up correctly. It may be a USB port failure, altough I have tried to plug it into other USB ports.
The only thing I'm struggling with right now is accessing the Debug-mode in the settings.

Ah i see, i meant the phones usb port... Could be 1 pin failed on it stopping certain things working?
Doesn't seem to be the problem since I can mount the phone and access the SD-card, but thanks anyway.

[Q] Nexus 4 Blank Screen

Hi All,
I have dug, and dug, and dug some more, but I can't seem to find out wtf is going on with this phone.
I was attempting to flash back to stock using these instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312) on my windows 8 machine. However, after the last step (Step 14 in section D), my nexus simply went blank. And stayed that way. Now, I can tell the backlight is turning on, however nothing is displaying on the screen. Also, my computer is no longer recognizing it. All I can manage to get out of it is my computer is a noise after I hold down power and volume down, along with a red flash of the notification led. The backlight will stay lit, but the screen isn't even turning on. It is also not showing up as a device, adb is simply returning "waiting on device" (or similar), and it is not returning the serial number after typing "fastboot devices".
Is it possible I hard bricked it somehow? I'm at wit's end here. and I would MUCH appreciate any and all help.

[Q] S4 Broken Screen - ADB Not Working - Cannot Activate Debugging

Been trying for hours now to try and sort out an issue I am having. My S4 is damaged, the phone works but the screen and digitizer is broken. I want to check a few sms messages, access and control the phone from my PC and basically make a complete clone/image of my phone. I cannot for the life of my figure out how to do this.
I use windows 7, I have installed SDK tools, have ADB/fastbook etc. Device isn't found with ADB. Spent hours reading information about installing correct drivers, which I have done. No luck what so ever. The phone is not rooted, developers tools is not on, usb debugging is not on either.
I am starting to think this is a lost battle as I cannot sort this out.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Bump.
Anyone? Is there no way to solve this problem? Tearing my hair out.
Best bet (given ADB doesn't work) would be to root the phone & get a custom recovery on (via Odin; this is might be very difficult if you can't somehow have the phone & PC recognise each other - you don't need to have had debugging on though) then do a nandroid backup (someone using the same recovery/version might be able to walk you through the button presses.
What S4 variant (model number) are we talking about ?

GT-I9505 is the model number that is displayed behind the battery. The screen is broke and so is the touchscreen (completely black). I tried to figure out via ODIN but that wouldn't recognise the phone either. I assumed you'd need to boot in recovery/download mode but because I cannot see anything on screen, when I do the volume down, home and power thing I do not know what to do next so the phone boots up normally. I know this because I have unread SMS and when phone loads my SMS tone goes off.
Really not sure how to get around this.
You're going to have to get it into DL mode somehow (don't need to use home button on S4, just vol down/power); try a jig. Once you've done that, then you need to get the phone & PC to recognise each other. If you're having problems with that, prepare to continue to do a lot more reading/trying stuff if you're having PC-side driver issues (there's a lot of threads on here re: the issue). There's also an 'Odin troubleshooting' guide in S2 General by Hopper8 which is worth looking at as much of the stuff he suggests also holds true for the S4 (except the firmware stuff, which is obviously different).
There's not going to be any quick & easy in this instance, I'm afraid. It's going to be hard work.
Edit - Also..USB board/port on the phone might also be damaged, so when you reach the point of having tried everything on the PC-side & everything you can possibly try on the phone-side, replace the USB board/port on the phone. This is quick/easy/cheap (<US$20) to do & might just enable you to get things done where everything else has failed.
Extra edit - And...A jig working (getting you into DL mode) or not is probably a good test of whether the USB board/port on the phone is still good; I.E if the jig works, the board/port is probably still good, if it doesn't, the board/port might be shot as well.
The USB is fine because when I plug the phone in when in normal boot it recognises the data storage. I will try to boot in DL mode. Are there any gestures my S4 will do when booting in DL? Vibrations? As I cannot see anything on screen that will indicate it's worked. I think that once I can get the phone to work with ODIN/ADB I will be good to go as I am relatively tech savvy.
Nope. You're going to by flying blind so far as having no screen/no vibrations in DL mode goes. You're going to be relying on the jig working, and once you hook it up to the PC & fire up Odin, you'll know straight away whether you've got a successful connection up & running (as screenshots in the many Odin guides on here will show you).
I see, will just have to keep trying.
So on the S4 it's hold power and volume up, then wait? or do I need to press anything else afterwards? Or is it power and volume down?
Thanks
No luck with download mode. Girlfriend has a note 2, and her method is Vol down, home and power button. Screen comes up almost immediately with confirmation. Volume up needs to be pressed to confirm. Tried to replicate with S4, no avail.
No luck with starting S4 in download mode. I have followed video on youtube. Supposed to be Vol Down, Home and Power button. Wait till vibrate and warning screen, then press up. Because I cannot see the screen I cannot see the warning screen. But I Hold for 4 seconds, release just after vibrate and then press up, but phone seems to boot up in normal mode.
Ok, finally in download mode, now what? I know it works because it installed new drivers and device manager states a samsung modem. Need to try and clone and do what I need to do ASAP and taking to store tomorrow to exchange for new one.
Any last minute ideas?
Thanks
ODIN3 v1.85 shows a yellow box, this is good right? I downloaded CWM from http://galaxys4root.com/clockworkmodtwrp-recoveries/
What do I need to do next, do not want to make this worse, I just need to enable usb debugging or at least be able to use adb, I am good to go from there
Only a few hours left? Surely someone knows what Flash I need to do to allow me adb access???
Right, go into recovery mode...adb now works.
What do I need to do to enable debugging?
Edit:
I can't get adb to work... error: closed
any ideas
If you cant get adb to work in recovery then youre out of luck.
Incase this happens with new phone, always have a remote access app like Cerberus installed. MightyText is a pretty nice app too.
I see, ok no worries. Thank you anyways

Smashed Screen + Stuck in Adb Interface = Challenge

Hey guys!
Dropped my phone. Screen is completely black. Charges fine. Fully charged now, notification light went from red to green.
Plug into PC, I hear the Windows USB mount sound, I see option to disconnect. In Device Manager, under Android Devices, Nexus 6p Adb Interface. In abd, no devices listed.
Device was rooted and 100% had debugging enabled, but since the screen went dark, a bunch of buttons were pressed and I have no idea what has happened as a result. If I had to guess.. if is in download, or recovery mode. I can't tell.
Any ideas on how I can regain access without spending money (haha, I know)? I read somewhere that the Nexus 6p doesn't have HMDI out. Is that true? So that wouldn't be an option? I just need to know if fixing the screen will fix the phone. It doesn't appear anything else is damaged, but how do I know for sure?
Thanks!

Does the s7 edge have two GPUS? Always on display works but anything else is blank.

Im having a very strange problem, my screen just stopped working. The only thing that show up is the always on display which works fine in any position on the screen. Ive tried hard resetting it by holding the power and home button, and it does reset but not even the boot logo is shown. Ive also tried entering download mode and the recovery mode but the result is the same ...blank screen. To this point i haven't had any problems with the screen even though the digitizer is cracked. So because the always on display shows up im convinced the screen works, so my next logical conclusion was that my main gpu is fried. Is there a way i could test it without the screen? I know there's a gpu test in the recovery mode menu but i cant read the results.

My device is also not rooted but ive managed to adb connect to it and download my data. And with adb i also have the ability to mirror the screen to my computer but the phone has to be fully turned on and connected to the network so recovery mode is out of the option ...at least to my knowledge.
I would appropriate any suggestions on how to diagnose it and maybe fix the issue.
