I need some serious help guys. Phone is stuck at boot logo and wont turn on. IT wont enter recovery mode. it wont hard reset. It wont enter download mode.
The phone was completely stock originally. So i rooted using towelroot and ran the 'AutoREC' program. That did its thing and restarted and got stuck in fastboot mode. couldnt get out of it. Eventually managed to reflash all the original stock ROM partitions and it started to boot again... only to get stuck at the LG logo. I need some serious help.
PC wont detect the phone at all and its as if there is no OS on the phone. I have the D802 variant 32gb.
which kdz variant did you flash.

I am in the same position. Except I tried to flashify stock recovery on d800 at&t variant. I wanted to install the stock update because I was still stock. Just root with twrp before...I had the sprint variant before the ls980 and it never screwed me over like this. I'll post if I figure anything out... I got to get ahold of shellnutt... He's the g2's god.

Have you tried both ways to enter recovery?
Push PWR + Vol Down till you see the LG Logo then release and press both again
Push PWR + Vol Down till you see the LG logo then release and press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons until reset screen appears.
If you can see the LG logo I think you are not Hard Bricked
I haven't tried that exactly. I'll give it a shot when I get a chance

You may want to check your internal hardware to be sure it's marked as a D802. Typically the feint white stamp in the lower center/left of the phone with rear cover removed is the true model number. It's also stamped on the board and on the ribbon cables going up eithe side. Your device is showing the signs of a false d802 which has become sadly common in recent months.
If it's legit d802 then flash aboot, boot, laf and power it off.
Then hold voume up and connect to pc while still holding volume up.
Make sure you have the drivers installed, fire up lg mobile support tool or the lg flash tool 2014 (you need your kdz file now - find it using your imei and lg-firmware site)
Okay so I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404 to get it to come up as a device in Windows and Linux. And this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 I'm sure you read this but you need to do it after following the first guide. I already have a Linux installed and I'm going to try today. I'll update with a guide for you only if you need it and if I succeed. I just need to remind you. You CANNOT mess up on the second guide... Well as far I can tell. But if the first guides label is actually true then maybe I'm wrong.
ok so ive ordered some tools to open up the phone and check the internals. Hopefully its a legit G2. Meanwhile every single possible combination of the power and volume keys does absolutely nothing. If all else fails ill try shorting the capacitors as ive seen on a guide from here and hopefully that will be the end of it. Thanks for all the input guys. Ill keep you posted!

Plug it into a windows machine, open device manager and look for Qualcomm qhsusb_bulk. If you get that, you're already in bulk and don't need to worry about shorting capacitors. If it's not being recognized in any way, you may be forced into that as a last resort.

All you really need to open it up is a guitar pick. It pries apart make sure you take the sim card out. After that it's going to take a little swipe around the edge and it'll pop open no problem.

I checked that already. Not going into bulk mode. Seems like the capacitors are my last resort
so ive poped the phone open and guess what... its not a D802.. its a D800.. the at&t version... wtf.. no wonder i bricked it. gonna see if i can use the unbrickable method
did you checked the IMEI?
nope its says on the speaker grille after you remove the back cover. "D800"
how is that possible? did phone information apps showed your device as 802 aswell? did kernel info and phone info in system settings lied too?
my phone LG G2 D802 International Version was running perfectly fine i tried to flash another rom by LG FlashTOOL and in the first i got soft bricked on that fastboot screen i recoverd it by ADB (fastboot.exe)

i have the same problem any help ??
I have the same issue too, can anyone help?
I heard that this can help you guys. Use the search option there and try to fix it. Actually i had the same problem few months ago, but for me mew motherboard was the solution... If you're device is under warranty send it saying it failed while taking OTA. Good luck...
lg g2 critical error
I have done a flash to my g2 32gb d802 and it suddenly entered into critical error not going into any of thefastboot mode or download mode even though it is giving me options.....please any one help me out to get my phone back to normal ........
PM me if you guys need help.
I had the exactly same problem, and I had to go to afterservice center to repair. Engineer told he would wipe everything and install new rom. but He failed to write rom so he simply changed mainboard.
At first I had thought about open my g2 and makes it go into qualcomm download mode by short-circuit.
the reason I didn't was my warranty was still available.
I tried every method to make it boot into recovery or download mode but I failed. In my opinion, you may try short-circuit method for last solution. In this situation, even linux doesn't mount rom's storage section. Only if you can make G2 recognized in Linux, G2 will revive.
good luck.

The best way to go if you do not have a warranty is to short circuit the board and get into Qualcomm ... 9006 mode. However, when you get the demigod error plug in you usb and click up and it should start download mode even though it doesn't show it.

No, it doesn't. I try to use flashtool but it doesn't recognize the phone. No download mode in any method I tried
I got into this error after I had previously recovered into qhs_usb9006_bulk mode from a hard bricked D801, by shorting the capacitors on the main board. After entering qhs_usb9006, I used srk tools 2.1 for my phone, and after they finished, I tried entering download mode, only to get into this error. I really don't know what it is to say about this. Everything turned wrong with this phone, it went from simply failing a .kdz, to stock .tot, to hard brick, and now to this error, whereas it should've just enter the download mode, as for the 99,99% of the others. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.
L.E. I shorted the capacitors again (the one i the middle, like I did the first time, when i got into 9006 mode. 5000 and 5004 didn't work for some reason). This time I got into dload mode, which is 9008. I'll try to recover the phone from here, with this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/fix-unbrick-lg-g2-stuck-qualcomm-hs-usb-t2933830
i had this problem while trying to return to stock. Fixed it by following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404 . it needs some hardware tampering though. i tried and tried but i cant flash the phone any other way. the way i understand this is due to bootloader being corrupt.
I installed autorec from playstore solved all the problems
Than you! autorec worked for me too
Can someone post a KK baseband for D801 (T-Mobile)? I'm on D80120a software version with unknown IMEI and baseband (the phone is a D801 refurbished into D802, I more than hardbricked it by flashing wrong .kdz, got it recovered through shorting pins, 9008 mode, got download mode, D80120a stock, root, twrp, after a very long and painful process of about 1 month). Now I have to make use of QPST, but I have to obtain a valid baseband first. Of all links I've stumbled upon, only 5% or less of them are still working, so I only have one flashable modem, in twrp recovery, which corresponds to D801 jb version.
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/G2_modems
cloudyfa kk_baseband_D801 only make my phone restarts like crazy.
I'm simply stuck and pray for some devine help.
Thank you.
Weird enough, I flashed a canadian modem and I got both baseband and IMEI. Why did I do that in the first place? Because I remembered that before all these things happened to my phone, the baseband was M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190082, which corresponds to D803. So I said to myself what can happen by flashing the wrong modem? Boot loop, easily fixable with the phone in it's current state. But again, after 1 month of trouble with the phone, I'm back to what exactly started it in the first place: phone seem to work OK but it has 2 huge problems: WiFi extremely weak (2 meters away and a wall or 5 meters away and no wall a and I lose the signal in both cases; the 2nd is wit the GPS - 20-30 meters error). No idea how should I adapt the radio to Europe region (by keeping the canadian one and change the settings, if it's even possible/fixable this way or if this even does make any sense).
I had to do a hard brick fix to get it into the QSUSB mode to flash TOT.
Have you tried using LG Support tool to put it back to stock?

Hey Folks, i just bricked My Axon 7 some Days ago. It started randomly a reboot which i can't abort anymore. Everytime the Device get's a Charge does it start again. Think i can't fix this, but asking here don't hurts...

Lol. I made a guide based on that one but updated, called DFU unbrick, because everybody had to read my comments there anyways to be able to do it. Not sure why everyone still uses the old one ?
@Miustone: If you want, you can try an EDL cable first. A lot of people say that they could get out of DFU that way. (assuming that you can get into EDL/DFU that is). Google my guide, it's called "DFU unbrick", if the EDL cable doesn't work
Thanks Guys! I will take a look on the DFU unbrick and the EDL Cable. At least a blink of Hope for this great Device... Still good as new, would be sad to use it just as a golden Sculpture lol

Hey, sorry for asking but how did you brick it? I am thinking about installing a custom ROM, rooting etc and I would just like to know if it was something in specific so I can stay away from it. Cheers.
Hi,
Does anyone know how to force EDL 9008 mode on the essential ph-1. Through fastboot the command reboot-edl does not put it into edl. Also attaching D+ and Gnd during power on of the USB cable also does not work. Was hoping someone knows the secret to forcing the phone into this mode.
Thanks

As I said in my post, I tried fastboot reboot-edl commands and it just reboots into normal mode. I also built the special usb type C cable that has a switch to gnd D+ on bootup to try and force the mode. I was looking for alternatives.
Thanks

I have since tried to do
reboot-emergency
reboot-recovery
reboot-EDL
All these commands simple make the phone reset like normal. There has to be a way to force emergency download mode on this essential phone.
Hello
As I said in your previous publication, follow these steps:
Before you connect the phone to the cable, enter fastboot mode
Plug the phone into the cable Connect the black and green wire with some and do not separate them
In the phone scroll to the reboot bootloader and press the power button
The phone will turn off and switch to EDL mode
Then connect the phone to the normal cable means without shorts
If the phone is running in bootloader mode, try again
I hope you succeed in the process
I also will not give up and will try to fix the phone in eBay mode

Your phone must be different. I can do the exact same thing and my phone never goes to edl, it goes back to powered by android.
In edl mode
OK, I put my ph-1 essential in EDL mode by shorting the black and green wire just like in the youtube; Device Manager shows "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9003 (COM3)" under "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Am I really in EDL mode and if the answer is yes - now what I do?
why do you want to do in the 9008 mode? do you mean you can flash rome rom in 9008 mode?

The only way to flash anything in 9008 mode is to have the PH-1 programmer files, which have not been released or leaked.
If your phone is under warranty, Essential might help you (they seem to be helping people who got bricked while updating Q beta).

Any chance you could provide me with some sort of instructions or direction? I've tried several different versions of QPST to no avail now. On the advice of a redditor, I was directed to try the CLI version of emmcdl but I can't even find a windows compatible build of this.
I have nothing against exploring/reading/learning but it sucks not being able to even start. I'd love to know if I'm even just on the right track.

My Essential Phone is a hard brick now with no response at all (no logo, no light..). And when I connect it with my computer, it is recognized as 9008 immediately, I downloaded your file and fill them in the QFIL, but every time I click the "Download" button, the sound of USB devices unplugged appears, and it fails all the time with an information that goes
ERROR: function: rx_data:247 Error occurred while reading from COM port
ERROR: function: sahara_main:983 Sahara protocol error
ERROR: function: main:320 Uploading Image using Sahara protocol failed
Download Fail:Sahara Fail:QSaharaServer Failrocess fail
I have no idea why these arise, since I am confident the driver was installed correctly. I even suspect that is it even the real 9008 mode? I'd appreciate it if you could give me some advice on how to flash this ROM, tks!

You guys can still unbrick by putting the phone in 9008 mode and using the QFil method mentioned here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/how-to/lg-g6-unbrick-method-t3935924
(Thank the OP in the thread.)
OP above does warn that the method will not work for T-Mobile version of g6, H872.
Do make sure that phone is detected in 9008 mode when you connect to Windows PC. If it is not detected, you might have to put phone in 9008 mode by grounding the connection point on motherboard. You will need to remove the back glass, some screws and and connect the connection point located below flash for camera to the ground plate in phone as shown here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/how-to/lg-g6-testpoints-edl-mode-9008-t3916962
(Thank the OP in the thread.)
Let's hope your phones are already detected in 9008 mode on PC so you don't have to open the back of phone. This is a bit complicated process and not many will be able to help you if you get stuck with anything, so best would be to read through the posts and making sure you understand all the steps before proceeding and asking OP in those threads if you get stuck. I have only used this method once and it worked for me. There is no visible indication when phone enters EDL mode by short circuiting the board. Have a device manager window open and phone connected to the PC via USB when you attempt short circuit so you know once it enters 9008 mode. Good Luck.
