Lately my screen has become a little bit too sticky - my finger does not slide as easily as it used to be (it's not my finger - same applies when I rub the screen with a piece of napkin for instance) even the backplate has less resistance. This is quite a problem - swype for instance becomes quite unusable..
Could it be a kind of damage to the coating (if any)? I have used on the screen the usual hand cleaning napkins - could these things have damaged the screen? Is there any coating on the screen or is it just some kind of special glass?
How do you clean the screen and how smooth does it become (some times in the past the screen was extremely smooth - don't know, however, whether this had to do with accumulation of oils from my hands).
Thanks
do you mean thoes napkins with alcohol on ?
I use a microfiber cloth and it works nicely.
stop using it to watch porn
but seriously, what kind of hand cleaning napkin have you used? some tissues have moisturizer in them and I don't think that would be good.
If the problem continues return unit as it sounds like hardware problem. Next tine get a screen protector. Also clean your fingers you grub

It's just going to be your skin...
People swet, people give off different amounts of moisture at different parts of the day... depending on temperature, mood etc etc.
Just wipe your screen on your t-shirt. Go wash your hands and try again.
Have you tried a screen protector or something similar?

I think it has to do with your fingers and it giving off moisture. At one point, I thought the same thing. The screen would be very hard to swipe. Once I cleaned the screen throughly and washed my hands, it was back to normal, as in day one.
I use my t-shirt to clean or my eye glass cloth. It should get back to the original smoothness.
Thanks for your replies. I think the screen may be a little bit hazy as well. Maybe it is just my idea. I will try a glass cleaning product. I just hope that they're is not some kind of protective layer that I accidentally removed or damaged.

You are right. That was the problem. The screen now is a little bit more greasy due to the suntan and it works greatly again. So the screen is like sex: when it's dirty it's just better.

I don't know what's more saddening... the main post or your serious comments.
Get a screen protector

I recently switched from an anti-glare screen protector on my N7100 to an Invisible shield HD from Zagg. Earlier today, I some how managed to get a 3" scuff vertically on my screen today and have been trying to get rid of it with various products. I tried good old soap and water, with no luck. Invisible glass (no ammonia) with no luck. I pulled out a magic eraser and sprayed invisible glass on it, and gently started rubbing the screen. 3-4 seconds later, it was gone.
I know it's annoying getting scuffs and scratches on a screen and just have to put up with it. This method may or may not work for you but I had no problem removing the scuff!
Can you be more specific on what you mean by "magic erase"?
Thanks for the heads up!

Typo!! Meant magic eraser, the one made by Mr. Clean.
Bummer, I dropped my phone and put 2 small chips into the case finish right on the edge. Anybody known of something that will work to cover them up? I tried black magic marker and it just rubs right back off, Tried flat black spray paint and it also rubbed off the aluminum case.
Any ideas?
model paint maybe?

Hello
I have just bought an S4 i9505 two days ago (used) and I noticed as a moisture effect (maybe air bubble) under the glass screen at the upper right corner of the screen. Anyone know a trick to remove it? Thank's
PS: It is not due to the protective film
Looks to me like the adhesive holding screen has gone/screen started lifting from casing. Might need to take back under warranty.

Looks like the screen may have been replaced at one time. It may be the picture but the speaker mesh looks sunken in and gapped between the glass and housing. The way the screen is assembled originally is the glass has a thin sheet under that is almost like a flake material and it looks like it's separating from the glass.

So I just bought a brand new LG G6 a day before, and on the very same night after charging my screen showed pink hue/tint around the edges of the screen. It was very visible, specially on a grey background, so i went on to download few lcd testing apps and it was showing prominently around the edges.
I just turned it in for replacement, they said i should get it in 2-3 days.
Has anyone else faced the same issue ?

I have a glass protector on and I get a slight tint if I tilt it a certain way from the reflection bouncing off the glass protector but that's it really.

That seems harmless and common in LCDs I suppose, mine was like a proper pink shade around the edges.

Yeah it be due to refraction or similar. Not an issue but if you had a protector on it might be the reason.
