Camera 360, does it take 360 stills, possibly bracketed? - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

I was wondering if the camera 360 accessory would allow taking 360 stills, possibly bracketed, for the intent and purpose of creating .HDR files for CGI lighting.
Thanks

Connect Droid X to Canon 5DII??

Anyone know if there is any way possible that the Droid X could be used as an external monitor for a Canon 5DII?
The 5DII has an HDMI out port that can be connected to external monitors. This makes it easier to focus while shooting video. If you don't use an external monitor, you must use the 5DII's 3" square screen. So when you are previewing the 16:9 video on the small 3" square screen, it can be difficult to achieve very precise focus.
The Droid X isn't much bigger at 4.3", but the screen is 16:9 so this would be ideal for monitoring video shoot by the 5DII.
I guess the main issue is, can the Droid X HDMI port act as an input, or can it only output?

DIY Optical Zoom Lens module with 1080p output

Hi Everybody,
I'm thinking about to create a hardware for guys who are interested in optical zoom lens.
I've updated the spec and demo clip.
I'm very familiar with AF(Autofocus) and I've some really great AF algorithm. I'm thinking to make a module which can do autofocus and leave enough interface to user to explore more applications with it. Here is brief spec for this project and if there are more people interested I'm going to make it to be a kit:
1. 18X Optical zoom lens with F1.8 aperture.
2. Encoding 1080p30 to SDCARD and output 1080i60 through HDMI or Component.
3. AutoFocus and Manual Focus. Controllable by commands.
4. Wifi is optional for control and remote live streaming. There will be Android apps for it.
There will be a lot of interfaces open as command set, controlling by UART, or USB interface. The hardware will be with metal housing which can be assembled to many places with screws and nuts.

Any question is welcome at present.
Piqued my interest. I'm curious to continue

It seems not too many people are interested. I'm feeling strange that there are so many camcorder sold with preset features, why nobody is interested to make it fully controlled by themselves?
For example, you can have your computer to control the camera to make it surveilance camera fully controlled by yourself. Our your cellphone to be another monitor and controller of the optical zoom camcorder......
I m interested

Anything you expect from it?
In fact I'm collecting application and wishlist for it. Once the spec is fix I may want to start to get it to be something that's affordable. Well, lens is so expensive.

Photo (RAW compared to Jpeg)

This is for someone with a 6p as it's a topic that interests me (and maybe some others). I haven't seen anywhere that the stock camera app on the 6P/5X can record in RAW but I know that RAW is supported. So with that would someone like to play around by comparing a stock camera JPEG against a rendered out JPEG (sourced from a RAW) from a third party camera app?
Thank you!

do you know you can create your own 3D VR videos... for FREE?

If you don't have the big bucks to spend on a VR camera rig, now there's a solution for you that's 100% FREE
We recently moved our app, Camarada VR (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aimfire.camarada), to public beta. We'd be grateful if you can give it a try, and let us know your comments and suggestions. This app has been in private beta for a few months and been tested on all leading smartphone brands/models. But bugs no doubt still exist, for which we humbly ask for your patience.
Camarada VR is the place to share and enjoy true 3D VR videos, created by YOU!
Camarada syncs and links you and your friends' smartphones to capture true stereoscopic 3D Virtual Reality videos :highfive:. It is the ONLY mobile app that allows you to create videos in 3D!
Enjoy the 3D videos in your Cardboard, Gear VR or 3D glasses, and share it so friends and family can see YOUR life in three dimensions!
It uses sophisticated Computer Vision algorithms to produce high-def 3D videos, and there's absolutely no rig required and no post-processing needed on your part - easy as a pie! See video below for proof:
FAQs
How is Camarada different from existing 360/3D camera apps?
Existing apps capture multiple pictures (or a short video clip), then stitch the pictures (or frames in the short clip) together. They create panoramic 2D pictures which, when viewed in a VR goggle, give an added sense of realism. However, this realism can never be on the same level as true 3D videos! Camarada gives you a far more immersive experience than any of them can. But don't take our words for it - try the app and you will see!
How is Camarada different from Google Cardboard Camera?
Google Cardboard Camera is capable of capturing 3D panoramic photos. It is good for inanimate objects but not dynamic scenes (use it when someone is moving in the scene, and you will know what we mean). In contrast, Camarada captures high-definition 3D VR videos.
Why are two phones needed to capture 3D video? I thought some 3D apps can do this with one device?
You need two cameras capturing at the exact same time and from slightly different angles to have true, stereoscopic 3D, period. There is no way around this - it's physics and it's how our eyes work. Any app that claims to capture "3D" using one phone, is making some tradeoff - either it's for inanimate objects only, or it's not stereoscopic 3D at all.
Do I need two phones of the same kind/model?
No, you don't - you can use any combination of Android devices, whatever you and your friend happen to have. Camarada does the hard work and adjusts for the differences. If you happen to have two identical phones, however, the software can detect and take advantage of this, and in some cases render higher quality results.
I cannot find a friend to capture with me, what can I do?
No problem. With Camarada, you can explore fun and engaging content created by people you know and by people from around the world. Enjoy them, and when opportunity arises, capture your own and share with the world.
Does Camarada capture 360-degree videos?
No. The 3D VR videos Camarada captures currently have roughly 180 degrees field of view. We are actively working on innovative ways to expand the FOV, so stay tuned.
Can Camarada capture 3D photos?
Absolutely! And unlike existing 3D camera apps, it takes 3D photos of any dynamic scene. In other words, it is a REAL 3D camera, not one that can only take 3D pictures of a table, a chair, a vase... you get the idea
I do not have a VR viewer, what can I do?
We support all Google Cardboard variants and Samsung Gear VR. But if you don't have one of these yet, we support 3D glasses and 3D TVs as well (currently only for photos).
It's really cool that you have to utilize 2 phones for it. :highfive:
I've tried other apps like Photo Sphere, Splash and Panorama 360 and this is hands down the best app for 3D VR videos. :good:

Use S10+ 2nd front camera to take photos?, it actually has a wider field of view!

Hi.
I was wondering if there's a possibility to actually take pictures with the 2nd "depth" sensor camera on the S10 Plus. I know for a fact that the stock camera App doesn't let you use it, other than to assist the primary camera for the "Live Focus" mode.
Nonetheless, if you type *#0*# on the phone App, you can access a test menu, in which you can actually take pictures and see the difference between these 2 front cameras.
I've attached 2 examples that I took, there you can appreciate that the second camera actually has a considerable wider field of view (in comparison to the primary one, though the quality is inferior), which would be really useful for group selfies, since the "Wide Selfie Mode" from the S9 was removed for some reason.
It would be awesome if someone finds a way to use the 2nd front camera to take wider selfies-
is there no possible way to use the wider front camera? (depth sensor), it would be a bummer since it has nearly the same field of view as the ultra wide angle selfie cam on the LG V50.
Additionally, is there a way to recover the ultra wide selfies mode from the S8?
There has to be a way to use the 2nd camera. As for wide selfie mode, there's probably an app or theme out that lets you do it, but I am not sure.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, but there's also a possibility that Samsung is not providing any API to access the 2nd front camera, which would be a real shame.
U are right!! Camera capture my quadtriple chin
