oneplus 6t fingerprint - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

I'm thinking about getting a OnePlus 6t however, when using the fingerprint sensor in the dark does it automatically put your brightness up full and blinds you ?

the screen stays dark,on mine, when I pick up the phone in the dark the screen stays black except for the time and date pops up and the image of the fingerprint outline glows to where you need to place your fingerprint. not bad at all.

It happens for a few fraction of seconds, and it doesn't get bright enough to blind you, its comfortable.

AOD way too dark outside - any fix?

The always on display screen is just way too dark and I'm outside in the sunlight. I can't read it at all. Everything else is fine, normal phone screen brightness is just right. Is there a way to adjust brightness of the AOD display at all?

I just recently turned mine off because of this. If I leave my phone face down it is too dark when I pull it up to see the time etc. If I left it screen up it would be at a very high brightness. It just adjusts to the situation slowly.
Thanks....I actually didn't see any response from the AOD to get brighter in sunlight...maybe I didn't wait long enough, but I waited a lot longer than I thought I should need to. Are you sure the AOD screen has any reaction at all to ambient lighting?
Yes it does effect it if it's on. Just put a finger over the sensor and it will dim

Extreme slow unlock with low screen light

Hi
When I adjust the screen light to half or lower it affect the time it takes to unlock the phone.
If I set it to about 20% it can take up to 3 sec. to unlock.
At 100% it unlocks immediately.
When set to auto adjust light according to surroundings the phone unlocks quickly below a lamp and extreme slowly in darkness.
During slow unlock the animation showing the icons in the dock area are shown in verical lines.

Looks like a hardware issue to me. Probably it's a sign to upgrade..

AOD Fingerprint Sensor Guide Image

Anyone know of a way to get the Always On Display to show the sensor area for the fingerprint sensor all the time? (The little white fingerprint icon) This should absolutely be part of the AOD, instead of just a black area where you guess your way to the fingerprint sensor.
It would be super helpful to be able to actually see where to place my finger without pressing the lock button, tapping the black space on the display, or doing the lift to wake.
Are there any custom AODs that have this?
my guess is if you leave FP icon AOD it would burn in over time, so it's not very good idea..

What if the image of the fingerprint image changed shapes every hour or something? Like, alternating curves?

Samsung S10+ Proximity Sensor issue

I would like to tell you that it often happens when I pull the S10+ out of my pocket, so the display is not in "stand by" mode, it is not always on display, but it is slightly backlit. Classically, the display is black and shines only AOD. But when I pull it out of my pocket, instead of the classic AOD it shines for hours and even seconds and after them you can see the wallpaper of the locked display and it is slightly backlit. The display itself is dark, but it is slightly backlit and you can see the wallpaper. With the classic AOD, the display is completely black and I have set only hours, minutes, date and battery, and of course, the notification, if any. Does anyone know what it is, whether it can be turned off so that the display does not illuminate the pocket?
I have accidental touch protection on.
As far as I know proximity sensor is only accessible when you are in call, that's why other apps can't access it.
Samsung should remedy this. Because I always change the Always On setting in my pocket. Specifically - Rotation and Brightness Always On.
EDIT: It happens most when I tap wake-up.

A10 Night light delayed after unlocking screen?

Hi,
When my phone is set to night light and I unlock it, there's a second or two delay before the screen turns on the night light, which is really annoying in dark places. This started to happen after A10 update, all versions so far. Is there a way to fix it? I'm rooted.

This is intentional because the fingerprint scanner uses the screen's brightness (and the color green) to shine a light on your finger so that it recognizes your fingerprint.
If night light stays on, that green light will have a different shade of green, thus preventing the camera underneath the screen from taking an accurate picture of your fingerprint.

Oh, this makes sense, thanks. I wish it would be disabled for people who don't use the fingerprint scanner at all, like me.
