Hey,
I'm thinking about buying the chinese version of the OPT because it's invite-free. My question, apart from fewer LTE bands and no dual-sim support outside of china, is it exactly the same hardware? Meaning, will it for example support the same ROMs that will run on the EU or NA version? Because, since I heard some people having trouble updating their chinese version OPT, I would not want to stick with Oxygen, but install a Custom ROM instead.
Its completely the same (apart LTE / Dual Sim).
A friend bought the chinese version and I flashed successfully oxygen OS. Also the custom kernels and CM 12.1 is no problem.
I'm using one now no problem just that it didn't come with a UK charger but no biggy
I'm also using the Chinese version here in Pakistan without any issue used the LTE without any hassle.

Its fine but i had to switch to ee and manually change to band 42
Hi everyone,
After switching from the Dutch provider KPN to Vodafone I lost the ability to connect to LTE/4G networks. On KPN in both Stock and RR remix LTE was working perfectly without any problems.
What can be the problem? My first thought is that Vodafone is using different bands than KPN, witch are not supported by the Axon 7. But all the Vodafone bands should be supported.
Is there a frequency band or channel that is somehow blocked a custom rom? Also my device is listed as a A2017U instead of a A2017G, is this an issue? Looking on this forum it seems not really of an issue. I flashed the right Modem in TWRP before installing the ROM.
Is there anyone that knows how to fix this issue?
Hey Maxhuisman,
A few months ago i switched from stock 6.0.1 MM rom to RR Nougat and after that Darkrom and a few others. No matter which kind of bootloaders/bootstacks/modems i flashed, the 4G/LTE data service from Vodafone NL just did not work even even after making sure the right LTE bands were enabled in the free app Network Guru. After asking for advise in a few other treads i was told to go back to a stock or near stock rom.
I am currently on Sl1m's B08 Nougat rom where my 4G+ worked instantly after flashing. I am not going to try other roms for now until i'm 100% sure that vodafone LTE works on those roms.

Really? That's too bad to hear
Thanks for your reply, I guess I have to go back to stock or to Sl!m then. Very strange that it is not working with Vodafone.
Hello guys, yesterday I bought xperia x compact so-02j (docomo) with ubl no, even though the seller told me ubl yes, actually it was important but not a problem now, the problem is that after I checked there was no fingerprint settings menu so fingerprint does not work, I see the same problem on youtube but the usa / global version while i am japanese version .. Can anyone help me? Pliss
Samebody help me pliss, I flash into a global stock ROM but nothing happens
I thought that if you had the Japanese version of the phone you could not flash a non-Japanese firmware (which is designed for different hardware). Don't use the F5321 firmware on an so-02J phone. You need to use the so-02J firmware. The fingerprint sensor should then be available.

yes I have tried to flash it to another country rom and it really can't, so can my fingerprint sensor be repaired?
The so-02J firmware has the fingerprint sensor activated, so if you don't see the option to add your fingerprint, something must be wrong, and I'm sorry, I don't have any more advice.
I have S8+ NTT DoCoMo model SC-03J. I am trying to use it in USA. It's carrier unlocked and works with US Sim card but has weird Japanese messages and DoCoMo bloatware.
Please tell me a procedure to get a custom ROM for Snapdragon version(Most custom ROMS are for Exynos version-Dream2lte, But mine is a SNapdragon version dream2Qlte). or how to flash a stock ROM of another country say US-Unlocked with English language.
Thanks
Hi
Did you get lucky on doing that
Since the EU version of the OnePlus seems to work with Dual SIM.
Can we flash the US version with the EU OxygenOS and be able to get Dual SIM working in the US?

Actually, this is what I did. Using US Version (Model: IN2025) and then was flashing with the EU Oxygen OS Version 10.5.4. After the flash, the update to Oxygen OS 10.5.6.IN11BA automatically was retrieved and installed.
Two things are surprising to me:
- I was expecting that after 10.5.6 upgrade, dual SIM should work, when limiting the network to 2G/3G/4G. However it still shows that the dual-sim function is not working.
- I thought that flashing the US device with EU, would also change the model from IN2025.
What am I missing here?
Thanks & Best.
dont think it works like that
you risk bricking it by cross flashing firmware

I was using this post -- and no issues.
OnePlus chat support told me that only configuration and software is different between the regional devices, hardware is all the same.
However it also didn't solve what I wanted to achieve - dual-SIM and (at best) also European bands - like n78 ... :crying:
