stock ROM.
i'm getting texts just fine but randomly it will decide to time stamp them 3 hours earlier, so if i have a bunch of texts i have to scroll through them all until i find the new one that it thinks was sent 3 hours ago. it is pretty annoying. anyone know how to fix this? soft reset didn't do anything.
it's often the networks fault when sms's are delay'd
i would try putting the sim in another phone for testing
same here
since yesterday ive been getting random texts with the timestamp 3 hrs earlier, and i also have to scroll thru to find it. my computer did something to the phone yesterday and basically deleted anything synced and then resynced. its been doing this ever since.
weird that we would get this same problem at the same time.
this is really annoying
Not to beat the horse but i've been having the same problem since this morning. Everything was fine all day and night yesterday. I've received about 8 texts or so since 8am EST this morning (it's now 2:20pm EST) and about 3 of the texts have had the problem. Pretty annoying. Assuming it's the network like someone previously suggested.
the person said the network was delivering them late. that has happened before too, but these are being delivered on time, but the time stamp is 3 hours before the text was sent. since 3 of us had the same problem starting yesterday or around then, it must have something to do with the network, even though the messages are being delivered on time, it is just the time stamp that is wrong.
weird.
yeah i thought it was something wrong with my particular phone but now since all three of us are having issues i feel "better".
hopefully t-mobile fixes this soon, its really annoying **crosses fingers**
Yeah, and the wierd thing is that it seems like it's only happening with specific contacts too. Looks like it's happening with only two people out of the 7 people that have texted me today.
yeah it's weird, but only 2 people have texted me today, and only one of them messed up, while both contacts messed up yesterday
this has also been happening to me, what phone service do you guys have, i have tmobile
I just thought my phone took a crap. but with the above posts I guess it was the network. mms are always late but this is a first for sms. tmobile needs serious improvement on their network issues
Maybe the Network Wizard will fix the problem? Just thought I'd throw that in there.
well my network settings are set the way tmobile set them, so i don't think it's anything we can fix on our end. it is them.
Im having the same problem since about yesturday, and my carrier is t-mobile,
so I think it has something to do with them.
Not to beat that already dead horse, but just to reiterate, I too have t-mobile and I have been receiving text exactly 3 hours late. It is very annoying and I am calling t-mobile ATM. Thanks for letting me know it isnt just me.
tell us what they say. last night it was nuts for me. i would get a text with the proper time stamp, and then one 3 hours earlier (but you know, it was actually received at the the present) and then one from the same person that would have an accurate time stamp

They told me that it was "only your issue and no one else in your area has complained about it." They offered to send me a new sim card but it seems like it must be a network issue and not a hardware one because we are all experiencing the same thing. Could it only be modded phones? I changed the rom on mine, been meaning to for a while. I cant say if it has happened again cause I havent gotten a message :-X
I live on the Northeats and was previously running Touch-IT 5.0.
you should have told them that there are reports on the internet of people having the same issues.
i'm in the southeast with the newest stock ROM. so it is definitely a network thing, not hardware or modded issues.
i'd call myself but i'm not the account holder and they make you give all these account numbers SSN and crap
well in addition to the time stamp being wrong now my sms are coming in 24 hrs late. I am afraid to ask whats next.
wow. mine are just 3 hour late timestamps. what is going on here?
I have also been getting delayed texts... sometimes like 10 minutes but can be up to like 9 hours late. I live in Seattle, WA
Hey!
Dunno if this was already posted on the site, I did a search on it and it didn't show up for the HTC Whitestone (Imagio), so I thought this could come in handy when it does happen to you (or to anyone with TF3D enabled really..)
My Imagio went crazy one day because I received over 40 text messages (I returned to the states and turned on my phone after only 2 days of no service overseas) and the blue blimp that normally counts messages remained frozen at 1 even after erasing all of my texts.
After some research I came up across FixUnreadCount , a program built back in 2004 or so which addresses this problem, although I dunno how it works since TF3D didn't exist back in 2004.
Anyways I ran the tiny exec in my Imagio, and viola! It solved my problems.
UPDATE: Didn't know there was a post about it less than 5 days ago, woops! :X
NOTE: you may require a restart upon completion, so make sure you dont have any unsaved programs running in the background!
Ok so not to sound guy or anything but I could kiss you I just spent an hour and a half on the phone with verizon just so they could do nothing and in 30 seconds this fix my phone your my hero.
Thanks
Yeah i found this on another forum after i did a HR (Hard Reset) only to have it come back after i finished setting up my phone again. So i did a second and found this little gem while i was setting up yet again. Only to have it happen a third time in two days.... Luckly i had this already and no more hard resets
Hi,
I can't get Twitter to launch on my HD2, all fine yesterday, defo using correct log-in details - i've tried 10 times, it starts to log-in then just returns to 'Twitter - tap to log-in' screen. Any ideas?
I did, i must admit, delete some files from my 'temp' folder, to make more room, so I'm guessing that is probably related, but any help appreciated.
Thanks
ok, sorry, after 2nd soft-reset it's magically back on and logged-in!
p.s. i got the HD2 at the same time as my wife got the i(m just like everyone else)phone and apart from the 50 million crap apps, that lose their novelty very quickly, the HD2 out performs it at every turn. We have the same network, I get coverage nearly everywhere, which is very helpful when using Google Maps when driving lost(!), and the other phone seems to struggle. Just thought you'd be happy to know...
Hi All,
Just tried buying an app from the marketplace and got this message:
"Can't get this info right now..."
I just spent about an hour searching various forums, and there seems to be a real difference of opinion about what this message means. Some posters suggest that it indicates a problem at MS's end (i.e. they're doing maintenance, something is wrong with Windows Live etc), and so the best thing to do is sit tight. Others seem to think it is user problem, and you need to reset the phone, clear the history in IE, turn on/off cookies in IE, etc... Given I didn't change anything on my phone and this just started happening for no obvious reason, I'm inclined to think its an MS problem. Anyone else dealt with this? Advice would be helpful as I don't want to waste time trying all the suggested solutions online...
I am having this same problem. It just started about 2 days ago. Saw all the same suggestions you mentioned, but none solved it.
I have not tried a factory reset, but it seems like an MS server issue.
I ended up doing a factory reset, but that didn't help. I think the problem is that I was using a US-based live account in Canada, and somehow the phone decided to lock me out of the marketplace due to my non-US IP address. Ended up resetting the phone again and then setting it up with a Canada based live account. Now everything is fine (although I have no access to the Zune marketplace). I wonder if the Feb update did something...
May also have something to do with the purchase validation cookie that sits on the phone...
Is anyone else still having problems downloading apps from the marketplace? When I tap install button I keep getting the message that says "Can't get this info right now. Check back in a little while" Is anyone else having this same issue today? This is the first time I've ever had issues with the marketplace, I've had this phone for almost a month. Seems like it's on Microsoft's end, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Seem to be other people on the XDA main forums having the problem...
Well whatever was causing the problem seems to have been fixed. I'm now able to download apps again =)
I have a Tmobile G2 that I just got a week ago. I played around with it for a couple days before deciding to root it, but finally pulled the trigger. Two days after rooting it a very strange thing happened. In the middle of the evening some of my Google applications stopped syncing. Gmail, Voice, and Contacts stopped. Drive still worked. Hangouts still worked... It was just weird. I clicked around for awhile and hit the interwebs to find the solution or to see if there was some widespread google outage again, but nothing.
I did everything I could think of, and then I finally clicked the option to take the phone back to stock. I know it wasn't going to take away my root, but at this point I wasn't thinking root was the problem. I just thought maybe I installed something that messed up the phone or something. Anyway, I took it back to normal and now the problem was weirder. It wouldn't even let me connect my Google account (or any google account) to the phone. It kept saying there was some sort of server error. I called TMO support and they couldn't figure it out either. They gave me a number to call Google support to let them fix it. They said that this was a 'known issue' and google support would be the one to fix it.
I kind of got nervous that they were going to creep into my phone or something and void my warranty. If my phone was broken and wouldn't connect to Google anymore then I at least wanted to be able to return it to the store and get a new one. I kinda like this device. So I un-rooted it and took it way back to stock. That fixed the problem. I don't know why, but it did. It left SU on the phone, so I'll have to get that off if it has issues again, but for now it is working fine.
Any idea why it would have just suddenly stopped connecting to Google? It connected to Drive just fine and several other apps, but the important ones wouldn't work. Unrooting it did the trick, but that would suck if you have a really great setup built. Oh well... The price you pay for being a hacker I guess.

Google had problems with their servers, many services were unavailable... had most probably nothing to do with you rooting...
You just picked the right time to do that.
Google from time to time have some problems. But not related to rooting.

That's kind of what I thought, but it was miraculously healed when I unrooted it. It could have just been strange timing, but there was nothing on the web about anybody else having this issue. I'll root it again and see what happens. There are some definite advantages to root access that I don't want to lose, but getting my email and texts are pretty important too, so....

I'm talking about this past Saturday morning, though. February 1st. I know about the google issue a week or two ago, but this was only affecting my mobile apps and wasn't the same thing. I was able to access gmail on the computer just fine. I could even access it from the phone's browser fine, but connecting the Google account to the phone was not possible. All I kept getting was 'cannot make a reliable connection to the server' error, so that is why I took the phone back to stock and then all the way back to unrooted. Unrooting it solved it, so I don't think it was just a google server issue which only affected me between the hours of 7:30 on Friday night till Saturday afternoon when I finally gave up and unrooted. It could have been connected, but I doubt it.
Which rooting guide did you follow?

I'm having the same problem. I deleted my account and recreated it. But auto-sync does not work. This has nothing to do with syncing. That works - but I have to sync manually. If I manually sync it from either the app or from the accounts option in settings it works fine. But it won't sync again. I deleted the account, restarted the phone and added the account again. Still doesn't work. If you root it and run into the same problem, please post again. I'll unroot too then.
I know this used to work at some point. I don't know when it stopped working. But it's not been working for days now.

I don't recall. The root part worked fine. I was able to use several of my apps which require root access and they all worked fine for a couple days. It just seems really random that this would all stop working one day.
So here is the timeline.....
Monday 1/27/14 - phone arrives
Wednesday - Rooted
Friday evening - Strange sync issues
Saturday morning - restored to stock while keeping root (did not solve problem and now I cannot connect any google account)
Saturday afternoon - unrooted and restored device (solved problem and google account synced fine after)
That was all in the same week. I've only had the phone since last Monday. It is worth saying that my HTC G2 and my wife's HTC G2 didn't have any issues with google syncing during this time. Totally different products, but I really tried to find anything to link the problem to something systemic and not just a device issue.
I haven't rooted it again just yet. I need to do it before I go too nuts re-installing the apks on my machine anyway. I'll definitely post again if I have problems again, but I really want to believe it was just something left over from whatever bug plagued Google a couple weeks ago.
