Evening all.
I have an xtrons 4.4 HU, it's fitted with a canbus decoder in and Audi A4.
The HU came with the steering wheel controls preset, I've tried to map them to add my own touch but I can't. When I go into the steering wheel control option, I operate a key and he screen does not recognise this, I've also tried highlighting a button then trying to use a steeeing wheel button and it still doesn't recognise it.
What ami missing guys? All the YouTube and Google tutorials say to do it how I am!
Thanks.
I have the same issue on a 2012 Mazda 3, the head unit only recognizes a direct voltage input from the steering wheel buttons, yours is probably controlled by the CANBUS, with the head unit, there should be 2 wires (Key1 and Key2), they should be connected to the car wiring I believe. Please wait for someone with more experience to confirm.

From what I've read they are connected through canbus but I have no idea how to work around this. Thanks.
Anyone? Tried downloading the rk1188 headunit app but it does nothing!
interested about!
Anyone please?
Hi there
I have a Joying VW Unit with Sofia and GTX Rom. It has the canbus option, but my car doen't have factory steering wheel buttons.
I ordered the joying universal steering wheel controller (not the bluetooth version).

In the comments they say it's not possible to add this controller to a vw canbus unit.
Is it just software? Any way to bring the unit to "universal" unit? Or any way to skip the canbus option?

They are correct, in units that use canbus, the key1 and key2 wires are used to talk to the canbus module. You need the Bluetooth version.
... and if i don't need the canbus module? Actually it's just to show door open. i really don't need it.
Or is it hardware based and i have to do soldering work?
Hello, i have the atoto a6 android head unit and i can't make the steering wheel controls work. Anyone with some axperience with this car and unit? Thank you in advance.
Hi,
I have old cars without steering wheel stereo controls. But maybe some cheap new cars still don't have these, so some may relate.
Universal 2din Head units with px6 4gb and 7" screen (there would be space for more ) don't have skip track/next track button.
I also tried to find if there is way to use some Bluetooth remote with these units, but all info seems to be that it does not work.
I don't want to hard wire controls to steering wheel.
Is there some head unit that I missed? Is there a way to make bluetooth remotes work?
Maybe something with sc9853i has next track button?
BTW i found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wptzk5W6uxI - i did not know there were any px5 with matte screen!
Hello,
I bought an Android unit on July and after some troubleshooting everything was working fine. Now I have a problem. I have a Renault Clio 4 Pre-Restyling and steering wheel controls are managed by CAN-BUS. The problem is that Volume controls and radio station change don't work if I don't turn on Head Lights. Other canbus functionalities seem to be working fine. For example when I open doors I can see them on my video. Could it be the CanBus decoder faulty or I have to check some wire connection? Thank you
Anyone can help me? Do you need any further information? Is it possible to know the pinout of CANBUS connector? Usually is 20 pin.
