Hi all,
with oneplus 6t if I silence the group notification on whatsapp (and I try to disable from "Apps & Permissions" too) when I receive the first group notification, the phone vibrates and the settings "Group Notification" in the "Apps & Permission" will get back to enabled.
Instead in Whatsapp are silenced as I set before.
I tried to wipe cache from recovery boot, clear storage and cache data from whatsapp, reinstall it... but nothing works.
I saw on the notification in the bottom part a label with X categories deleted... what does it mean?
Any suggestion?
Where can I found the settings of whatsapp in the folders (and if I need to root it, I will do)?
I have Oxygen 9.0.5 and whatsapp 2.18.341

I had trouble setting a custom txt tone on my M8 after the Marshmallow update. The fix was to go into the settings menu then apps go to messages and then look at permissions and click on the storage option then you can set your own tone.

same issue with both MIUI 8 Global 6.11.3 and Xiaomi.eu 8.0.10 stable ROMs:
Both MissedIt and TeslaUnread loose their notification access (which they need to know about unread messages/mails etc...) after every reboot.
In the system dialog, the notification access is still activated after reboot, but when I open e.g. teslaunread, it says that I need to grant it notification access. I toggle the access off/on, everything works ... until the next reboot.
From a bit of googleing, this seems to be and old and known issue, but none of the threads I found ended in a resolution. Any thoughts about this one?
One eery similarity to the USB-MTP issue I posted on a parallel thread is that in both cases, the system dialogs still pretend that the settings are ok.

Recently I had a notification on my phone that there was a system update available. When I tapped on the notification, I was brought to the system update app and asked for permissions for phone, storage, calendar, SMS, and contacts. Denying them all causes the app to kick back to the main settings page. Anyone know what's going on? It seems odd that the system update app is asking for all of these permissions, and that the system update notification came up with no update available. For reference this is a ~2 week old advance exchange replacement from ZTE, I never saw the problem on the old phone. System update version FOTA.V7.0.1.3.
Those permissions are needed to backup your messages, call logs etc. in case you have an SD card update that wipes data.

I am not sure this is the correct place to post this so tell me if i should post is somewhere else!
I have a problem with my moto g4 plus running lineage os 14.1 (android 7.1.2.) I am not receving push notifications from discord at all and receving gmail push notifications about 5 hours after the email has been send. especialy the discord app is important for my work. Only when i open the app does is sync and does it "receive" the new messages.
I think the problem is with linegae os because i installed discord on another phone (moto e2 running stock andriod) with precisely the same inapp settings and push notifications work on that phone .
Things i have done to try to fix it:
restart phone
reinstall discord app
reinstall gapps stock version
changed battery setting for discord to not optimise
giving discord unlimited data (4g)
any suggestions that could fix my problem?

I am using LG V20 F800K, Android 7, rooted.
Recently I have removed some system applications to make the device work more smoothly. However, I may have mistakenly deleted one (several) apps, and now every time I read / send a message I get the "Message has stopped" message.
I tried deleting the application data, factory format but it still didn't work. Therefore, I'm sure I deleted the wrong app!
Please let me know which packages (APK files) are related to the "Message" app so I can check it again, add it and get it working again.

Either dirty flash the system again or change which app you use for it. Messages from Google is free had advanced features like rcs and spam blocking. LG software is a bloated interdependent mess...
