Hi,I'm new in op platform so I like to know why in hotspot settings you can't change channel? My s8+ had that in extra settings. Is it possible to change with some app?
Nobody knows?
That's never been a standard Android option, Samsung added that.

Thanks for the answer, and there is no app that can do that?
Don't think so, you'd have to have to modify the libraries that control the wifi chipset in order to have those options.

I know the AT&T version lacks the download booster, but I've also noticed that I'm lacking Samsungs Car Mode and it seems to be replaced with AT&Ts worthless car assistance app. I haven't seen any discussion on this so I figured I'd ask if anyone else with AT&T is missing this? Also, is there an APK for that car mode app from Samsung? What other features are we AT&T users missing?
Feeling kind of jipped.

Unless I'm missing something, the OP stated that this is on the AT&T version (SM-900A). Your method appears to require root which is not yet available on that variant.

Not yet but wanted to make it available when it does become available so easier access.

@RevelationOmega
Is this method still valid? Root has now become available on AT&T and Verizon's variant. I clicked the second link in your post but it says the file is no longer there? I want to try this...
Galaxy labs
WiFi Sharing
White pages
Find My Mobile
Samsung Browser
Anyone I missed? It's also worth noting that all other us carriers are on PB6 firmware while we are stuck on PB1 (exynos is on PB4).
Is there any way that anyone has found to enable the WiFi Sharing option? Is there a system flag that can be set or anything? Some hidden menu option? Any other thoughts????

Nothing I can find. It's likely gutted like the other features.
I do not have Enhanced Messaging as an option under my Messages settings at all. Is it there for you? It's been driving me crazy for hours trying to figure out how to get it to show up but it may just not be possible yet. My friend on Sprint has the option there but we compared versions of the app and he has 2.0.98 while I have 2.0.93. Maybe that's it?

What does enhanced messaging do? I don't have it but I can request a delivery report. Is that the same thing?
Not sure if this is just true for Verizon's variant or if it affects all S7 models, but my device has the old KitKat-style persistent notification whenever there is an active VPN connection, which was something that got removed from AOSP with Lollipop. An unpleasant visitor from the past, for sure.

Posted this in the Sprint forum....can someone help me figure out how to enable the download Booster? Like previous models? Old process doesn't seem to work.

I've been looking for it on and off today honestly. Wanted to use it for a tasker profile. But it's no longer a settings activity named smartbonding. Been scouring activities all through relevant system apps to try to find something that I think would be it with no luck.
Honestly I havent tried super hard. More just in off time when I remember it, or notice my booster turned off again. (on tmobile so I have the switch in settings to turn it on and off)
But ill keep you posted if I find it
International unlocked 950f model and i have it here. Just search for it
It's disabled and hidden on this version

Carrier disabled. Not removed from the system though.
Were trying to figure out the new activity name for it.
Before even when it was disabled, you could use Nova launcher activity to find it in settings.
Use to be called . settings$smartbondingserviceactivity
Okay so from what I can tell there is nothing referring to download Booster or smart bonding in any of the activities. I believe it is part of an activity menu of some sort now and no longer called bonding. I've checked in every activity sub group.

You and me both. I have download booster on tmobile. I feel like they changed it from a settings activity and embedded it so people couldn't do this. What I think i might do later today is debug the phone and see what script comes up when I enable it and report back.
Man. I guess this isn't an issue for most with this device. Is Sprint the only carrier that hid this setting?
Bump...I know someone can do this easily
Still no luck. Anyone else find a thing worth trying yet?

Did you ever find a solution for this? Same thing here.
We all know 1+5 is having Bluetooth 5.0 which can let you connect 2 devices at one time but how to use it?
Galaxy S8 has an inbuilt option known as "Dual Audio" which lets you do that!
Any playstore app that you recommend?
Thanks in advance!
S* has it because samsung made "its own" software for dual audio. Bluetooth 5 is not enabled until Android O. Current version of android does not support BL 5

Do you mind explaining me where I can find it? I searched through the developer settings and didn't know what I have to choose/enable to enable dual bluetooth casting.

Of course not Well go to developer settings obviously and then below the option of the USB configuration, you'll find all Bluetooth specific options. The option you're looking for is called something like "Mode for bluetooth audio channel" and there you can select mono or stereo.

I think what @TheDj408 wants to achieve is bluetooth streaming/casting to two different devices (speakers, etc.), which is different from the bluetooth audio mode options you've mentioned.

Ah I see. But doesn't it depend on which devices he uses? I mean there is no universal solution, is it?

I suppose. Not sure if OP5 is capable of that, to be honest.

That's the same thing I want to do. Basically stream music on two devices at the same time. I don't even know if the Galaxy S8 is capable of doing that or if it also just got streaming the audio to one and everything else to other device.
So current solution with developer settings just enable this mode. I hope someone will look into it when Oreo gets more spread.

That is not a solution, that will just change the bluetooth audio output mode (between mono and stereo sound) but only for the device it is already streaming to. It will not change the number of devices you can stream to.

I know that there is an option... I have found it... But I can't connect two boxes/speakers
Maybe someone is able to write something like a mod for enabling this... Something you can use with root access... But I don't know if that's possible
Has anyone found a solution yet?
Hey All,
I had to update this thread a little it was pretty terrible on wording and full details. (Sorry About That)
The current hotspot hack still works on this new update too which is now CRL2.
You still need to add dun but it will look like this example below....
Ex: default, mms, dun, xcap, supl << Credits to whoever found this out first I just applied it to here and it works I’m currently using it now for this post :fingers-crossed::good:
*In order to edit your APN you will have to download Quick Shortcut App from the Play store*
Another thing if you didn’t know Good Lock is out and working perfectly too with new clock options and custom pulldown options that you can set to your liking.
*I added screenshots to help set what I set or how my good lock looks.*
I have a T-Mobile S8+ on Sprint network, and OTA keeps failing.
Can I just ODIN T-Mobile S8+ with Sprint's RIB firmware when it comes out?
Will I lose data?

they was added by sprint in the newest update
it was not like this before the update
XCAP is a protocol which enables a user configuring his service data (e.g., modifying a call forwarding number, changing his barring services) on the Multimedia Telephony Application Server (MTAS). The XCAP flow is typically carried over the default bearer of the Internet APN.
SUPL is a technology which utilizes existing standards where available and possible, to transfer assistance data and positioning data over a User Plane bearer, such as IP, to aid network and SUPL Enabled Terminal (SET) based positioning technologies in the calculation of a SET's position

The new October Patch is nice so far....they have disabled Calling Plus but gave u the real feature
which is under connections and then voice networks and you will see VoLTE
turn it on if you want to use internet and phone at the same time.

This is still working on CRL2. I just redid mine last night. Are you having a problem with it?
