crash application settings when you click on "developer options" - LG G6 Questions and Answers

With the update of the security patch of September 1, a similar bug appeared. I tried it differently, but it's useless. I need to go but crashes the settings every time. If you know how to solve this I will be very grateful) LG G6 H870ds SEA The only thing that I have not tried is a reset to the factory

Try a factory reset

Have the same problem, LG G6 H870DSU. Don't want to reset my device, any other idea?

[Q] Xposed navbar changing

Hi all,
I'm running CloudyG3 and wanted to customise the navbar long-press actions. So I got the G2 Xposed app from the Play Store and turned the navigation bar options on. The bar immediately changed to the G2 default (back, home, menu) but after I had selected my options and rebooted the phone, it stayed the same. I tried turning it off and going back to G3 settings but after a reboot clicking on "Button combination" just crashes the settings. Is this because of CloudyG3 or just a bug? And how do I correctly edit the navbar buttons' long-press actions, or at least bring it back to G3 defaults? Do I need a different module?
Thanks in advance.

Anybody?
go with g3 tweaksbox mod.... although, i don't know if this feature comes unlocked in free version because i've bought a full one...
nevertheless it was the money well spent...

Thanks, first time I checked I didn't see this option but you're right! However, the buttons are still stuck on G2 default. Any way to reset without reflashing the ROM?

don't know about that... did you try to modify the buttons order from settings directly? (settings > display > home touch buttons > button combination)
edit:
btw button combination crashes for me as well (just noticed that - but i've got them arranged already how i like them)

btw make sure you don't have 2 xposed mods that handle the navbar properties (they might cancel eachother settings or something)

Yeah, it then says settings has stopped and takes me back to the display settings. As for other modules, I've only got G3 TB enabled.
i've tried several things now but without success...
- fixing permisions from recovery
- clearing settings cache
- restoring default navbar settings in g3 tweaksbox (rebooted)
- trying to unfreeze some services i have disabled in titanium
nothing helped...
will let you know if i find the solution
only thing that comes in mind right now is dirty flashing of the rom (but i'm to lazy to do that just because of this issue )

Dirty flashed. Navbar remains unchanged.

Developer Option cause settings FC

Hi all, I have the original european version untouched, just updated to B03 version.
After i enabled the developer option clicking on the build number, i can see it in the the settings but it doesn't open, it just FC.
Anybody know a way to fix it or to clean the settings data do i can do it again?
All I need is to enable the USB debug option, is there any other way to enable it without Dev options working?
Tnx in advance
You should do a factory reset..
I hoped there was a less drastic solution..
Tnx anyway
I did a factory reset but the problem is still there...
I cannot believe that only me have this problem...

Tnx
I downloaded the full image and flashed it but i still cannot go in dev options
It always FC settings.
I'm out of ideas now
Same issue for me, I think it's a common problem for the eu version. Hope they will fix it with the next update
Same here.... i think its a b03 issue. I used developer options in b02 and it was fine.
I used b03 and could go into developer options and disable/enable USB Debugging without problems...
I'm not sure if it's a common problem. Did you try to connect your device to a pc and go into developer options after that?

I did that,i have seperate section called Developer Options, but when i press it settings app crashes.Bluetooth isnt working, half the stuff doesnt work, and i cant access usb debugging-
My guess is that when you did a factory reset, the additional package with the others app has been deleted.. try to flash it again.

I have got the same issue. What do you mean with "additional package"?
Did you, by any chance, flashed a custom kernel to get root?
Same thing here except after a factory reset my display settings were fine but after the set up in the settings it just crashes the app.

Galaxy s7 edge factory reset issue

Hello everyone
Today I factory reset my galaxy s7 edge and it did not turn up with android 6, instead I found it on android 8.0.0 with September 2019 security patch, I didn't update my phone after the reset, I did the factory reset from the settings menu "general management" factory data reset, I had to reset it cuz my storage was always full after I deleted everything from it, it was still full and when I check storage settings, device memory, I see "files" occupate 15 GB I tried diskusage app and cleaning cache apps and everything else but couldn't find them hidden files so I factory reset my device and it did go well since I ended up on android 8, what is the issue here ? Can someone please explain this to me please ? Thanks in advance

If ota update is enabled, he can download the update and store it and when you reset the device, he installed this update. This is the single most plausible explanation in this case.

Another thing that confuses me is why it chose September 2019 patch update and not another one?
is there anyway to go back to android 6 without flashing the phone? I mean just using the factory reset option and did anyone else get android 8 after factory reset his galaxy s7?

This was probably the most recent version that was stored on your device. Android 6 only custom roms of portals of other devices, because due to the bootloader block, you will not be able to install anything other than the stock version for your device.

Can't access developer mode

So I wanted to cheat my location with mock location. And to do that I need to get in the developer mode settings which I havent been able to do.
I started with tapping the Build number and the information I got was: no need, developer mode already enabled. But it is not visible, I've checked a million times. I then went onto deleting all data and cache from the "settings app". Nothing changed. I restarted the phone, nada new. I downloaded the app Nova launcher to create a shortcut/widget but developer mode did'nt exist there either.
I'm out of ideas. What can I do?

Try a hard reboot.
Clear system cache.
Try safe mode.
Factory reset.
Reflash firmware.

Tried the first three suggestions. I guess I'll be moving on to a factory reset.

That's bizarre. Try Googling it first.
I really loathe using factory resets except for boot loops, viruses and old loads.

I agree. I Googled it all day and it seems like I am the only one with this problem. I saw someone fixed it with the Nova Launcher app, but it just doesn't appear there either for me :/.
