Hi
From the time I bought this phone, I don't remember ever seeing VoLTE working on either of my SIMs (Vodafone and Telstra). Is there anyone else facing a similar issue. Any help will be appreciated. I am on Stock ROM with the latest update as of now of 26 October 2018.
P.S. VoLTE for both the carriers is available, I have checked with other devices and VOLTE works just fine on them.
Cheers

Are you able to use VoLTE in Australia? I am in Australia
I am on Vodafone India and I have the same question. Here also Vodafone has VoLTE but the phone is not showing it. But on my phone's settings page there is an extra option "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode". I must add that even after enabling it, I am not getting VoLTE services. My phone has latest build, 334 (but this option was there even before)
Weird I'm also on Vodafone India and I seem to have no problems with Volte it has been working from the start, tho it keeps going to H sometimes and mobile data just doesn't work.
I m also using Vodafone in India but unfortunately Voote is not working although i have checked Enhanced 4g for Vodafone sim but still not available. I am on latest update 334.
Are you guys getting VoLTE in other devices because it is just this phone of mine in which VoLTE is not working either with Vodafone or Telstra. First I thought that it is just the issue with Vodafone but it is not working with Telstra either. I think that Asus has just implemented option for Enhanced Calling on Indian carriers.
Edit. I just updated to latest build but its still not working. I hope Asus adds VoLTE to global carriers as well.

I rooted my S7 edge, voLTE was perfectly working. But now when I flashed the stock firmware via odin, voLTE no longer works. Please help
Don't know what network your on but here in the UK I think Three are the only network with Volte and it wont work on mine because they said it has to be a Three branded handset............................for now at least, you flashing the handset may be a similar situation

I tried three out for a month and volte worked for me with an unbranded s7 edge duos, trouble is the network signal was awful at home and even though they have the wifi calling app, it doesn't work on a dual sim phone so I left and am now with EE. volte doesn't work on EE with unbranded phone, but I'm 100% sure it works on Three. You have to enable it on your phone though.
It was Three who told me this when I asked why my S7 Edge doesn't work with Volte

I have a weird problem with a new SM-G935F (Exynos), which I'm trying to use in Serbia (Telenor), while it's branded for TIM Italy carrier. The device connects to LTE network instantly, but I'm unable to make calls, and messages are received only intermittently - data works properly all the time. When I try to connect to 2G or 3G only, phone cannot register to network at all. I tried flashing multiple modems both for 6.0.1 and 7.0 and tried multiple stock ROMs, after, of course, trying everything with a pristine initial setup...I tested the SIM card in another phone and it works normally. I can't test another nano SIM card with the phone at the moment...Can it be something with the CSC, since that is the only part that I didn't touch? Or is it most likely a hardware problem?
Thank you very much!
I have same problem on a 935f! Up

Hi Sprov,
I see you're from Italy - is your phone also bought from TIM?
It has everything to do with the csc!!
Telenor might be using VoLTE technology to make voice/video calls. Since Serbia isn't in UK, BTU firmware has its own standards and isn't compatible with your region. Same issue for me here. Reverting back to 6.0.1 will gain me back calls feature. Until an official update is released in your region, you will have to compromise this one feature(well the most important one). If you very much want the feature, the only way right now is to revert back to old firmware(including the csc)
Thanks a lot for the insight! But should that affect ability to connect to network when it's set to 2G/3G only? Since the phone doesn't register at all, only to LTE. Thanks again!
This has even happen to me. I was a beta tester to. Recently I added a carrier for my sim 2 which supports VoLTE. When I flashed BTU official yesterday via OTA there was no VoLTE and finally came to know that BTU CSC doesn't provides VoLTE. Since its an unbranded firmware. Reverted back to my CSC MM. Got back VoLTE also.
Waiting for an INS version of Nougat.
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
It turns out that, in my case, very weird, it was due to SIM card...It worked normally on all modes in 2 other phones, but in this phone only LTE as I stated. Once I put in a new SIM card, same carrier and everything, no problem at all.
I understand the problem with calls and VoLTE, but in this case the weirdest was that it connected to LTE at all, while it couldn't register to network on 2G/3G.

I had it for free, a friend who couldn't stand the problem gave me, though he bought it from someone, not store. Imei is ok.
If i switch from h3g to TIM, so using roaming, i have 2g internet and working connection. Weird.

Oh and i have another s7edge which is my main device, i tested also tim sim and wind on both, i have same behavior of 2g/3g/4g. 4g is really unstable too than in my personal s7e. All tested in same condition with live sim switching
I am on Android 7.0. See software specs in attached screenshot. Three UK turned on wifi called end of January. My phone is unlocked and bought from Samsung. I don't seem to have the WiFi calling option. I have already checked that you don't need a phone bought from three, it will work with any s7 Edge.
Anyone have wifi calling working with any network on a non carrier phone? I don't see any options for it anywhere either.
Launch the phone app (I.e. The green phone icon), tap the settings option on the top right. For me it's an option just under vibrate.
I'm on EE with a phone that came direct from Samsung.

You should see what CSC/PDA the stock Three UK S7 Edge comes with, I think it is this one https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Galaxy S7/81c4/HTS/G930FXXU1DQB7/G930FHTS1DQA4/ but you should confirm. Then flash it with Odin. It won't trip Knox or anything. You can find out how to do that here on XDA.

I did confirm with three today and have found it elsewhere on the Internet that it doesn't need three own branded firmware. So I don't really want to install it. I was part of the 7.0 beta, I wonder if that has caused issues.
Yes I'm on the same build version. I was also on the 7 beta and the only difficulty I had was locating the WiFi calling option as it used to be located through the main settings.
Do you have to opt in for WiFi calling on Three? I think I may have with EE.

Any joy with three wi fi calling s7 edge
I have updated my unlocked s7 edge as suggested by three, but no wi fi calling available, I have to walk to end of road on holiday cottage could do with a fix. Three in touch no longer works either. Did you get a solution from Samsung?
Wi-Fi Calling works only on H3G Firmware
After few nights of flashing various CSC ROMs, I can confirm that Wi-Fi calling and HD Calling on Three UK appears on H3G firmware only and it works like it should.
Here are few notes after flashing:
XEU - No Wi-Fi calling option, VoLTE icon intermittent, dropping calls after few min if started calling on 4G, keeps switching back to 3G to initiate a voice call.
BTU - No Wi-Fi Calling option, VoLTE icon appears and seems OK when calling over 4G, however no HD voice.
H3G - Wi-Fi Calling option appears in Call Settings and it works! However no VoLTE icon but for sure it makes voice calls over 4G as it initiate a voice call much faster and the radio doesn't switch back to 3G, also the HD icon appears when making a phone call to compatible service number or another phone which supports HD voice - call is sharp crystal clear like on Skype or Messenger etc.
Conclusion: To get all stuff enabled Wi-Fi Calling + VoLTE + HD Voice you need to get your phone directly from Three or flash H3G firmware to your current phone.
H3G firmware luckily hasn't got too much of a bloatware, it can be easily uninstalled or disabled
Please hit thumbs up for me :good:

I found exactly the same when I tested roms, you need the network rom to get wificalling.
I know this is an old thread but still relevant today.
I found pretty much the same thing. WiFi Calling and VoLTE on EE needs the EVR firmware (but I think it may work on BTU as well with Android 8)
3 does require the HG3 firmware
Without the correct match of firmware the option to enable WFC does not appear in phone/settings.
Others like O2 and Voda probably require their own firmware as well.
But what is really weird is if you get for example, an iPhone 6S and put a 3 card in it...WFC just works and the same with EE. No special firmware. Maybe Apple know something we don't
Do you see the WiFI Calling option in Phone Settings with Three / H3G UK firmware on a phone that works with WiFi calling? I can't see any reference to that option on the Three help pages. If so, any chance of a screenshot?
Thanks
I am in similar situation with S7 Edge which currently doesn't have an option for wifi calling. I moved from O2 to Three recently. O2 wifi calling worked and the option was there. It doesn't have the option on Three.
Does anybody know which firmware to flash which will enable this option? I've downloaded both the BTU version and H3G version for the UK. Can anyone please confirm if either of these will enable wifi calling option?
Many Thanks.

I think you have a better chance with the Three firmware, but AFAIK, the issue is that Android phones are coded to a carrier. This doesn't seem to matter with VOLTE but for some reason VOWiFi is an issue. If anyone knows how to get around this, I'd be happy to know too.

Thanks for the reply. I thought the Three firmware would be better but I was hoping someone has tried this and actually got it working. Seems odd that the phones sold direct by Three have this by default but it seems almost impossible to enable if the phone was bought elsewhere. That's why I'm wondering if the H3G firmware I found on Sammobile.com has the feature or not.

I have a couple of Samsung Galaxy S7 edge duos dual-SIM phones in which I have SIMs from different network operators or MVNOs. One is usually a Three PAYG SIM and the other is a Virgin Mobile (now VMO2) contract SIM or other MVNO PAYG SIM.
I am in a poor signal area for all of the networks despite being in a built-up urban area of Aylesbury. I currently rely on a Home Signal unit from Three to cover that network but would prefer to use Wi-Fi Calling for all networks.
What do I do about the secondary network?
Which ROM firmware should I be using?
Why doesn't all firmware enable Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE for any network?
Ofcom have banned phones being locked to a network from December 2021 but the ban does not seem to cover these issues which are tantamount to locking a device to a network.
Ofcom needs to address these issues before the end of 2021 when some networks will have withdrawn support for their Home Signal type equipment and even 3G fallback for voice calls in 4G/5G coverage areas.
My phone is MHA-AL00C00 and I want to use VoLTE in Rogers network. But the menu of volte is missing and I heard some body using C636 and enabling Volte in US T-Mobile networking. So I re-brand my phone to C636B191. But still there is no VOLTE menu available. Then I used QuickShortcutMaker to enable WIFI calling setting anyway. Then I upgraded to Andorid O(MHA-L29 8.0.0.0.360(C636)) and I found Volte menu is available and it is enabled. But the real phone call is still back to 3G and there is no VOLTE icon in status bar. So I used another SIM card with VoLTE enabled in Iphone 6+ and I found there IS VOLTE ICON in status bar. Please see the attached screenshot and I placed a call and it didn't switch to 3G so it is real VOLTE call. But unfortunately this icon is gone after a while. I guess the Mate 9 phone is not VOLTE certified device in Rogers network.

From Rogers forum somebody mentioned to contact level 2 support to add your IMEI to Rogers database then you should be good to use volte.

Afaik, to get working VoLTE phone must support this and mobile operator too. And they will turn support by request if they can do it.
Just chat with Rogers and this function is not enabled on my account. After enabled you have to update your emergency address and submit to Rogers. I have done this on a Rogers iPhone 6. Now I have volte icon always.

Yes. no fall back to 3G when calling. But it only lasts 2 hours and this VoLTE is gone again. Re-chat with Rogers agent and they said it is not working on non-Rogers phone even you are lucky to get working for a while.
Sad!
Update:
This morning I just found the VoLTE icon is shown on status bar. After place a call the call log shows it is a VoLTE call (It also indicates it is VoLTE call during the call)
It looks like Rogers remove VoLTE restrictions on non-Rogers phone.
If the IMEI on your account is VoLTE capable, then VolTE will work for non branded devices, as long as the imei doesn't change.
I just purchased Samsung M30S from Amazon and yesterday received my delivery of this product... I have inserted Airtel over sim slot 1 which is my primary number and Vodafone over second slot... And configured the WiFi network on this mobile...
Problem number 1: Vodafone VOLTE not working and I have contacted their customer care and they told me Vodafone VOLTE not supported on this phone...
Problem Number 2: I mainly use Airtel for calling and Vodafone for data as I do get better network speed on Vodafone on my house or do internet from WiFi... But when I am connected to the internet via Vodafone network or WiFi, Airtel VOLTE not working... Call getting muted after few seconds... But I turn off VOLTE for airtel as well then call going without any problem...

Vodaphone customer care might be duping you. THis is a new phone so might not be in their supported phones list database and hence telling you its not supported. Check instead what is the VOLTE band they are using and in your phone check if that band is present.

Due to ongoing work of Vodafone - Idea network integration, the vodafone customer care and sms requests for VOLTE are not working. Samsung M30s is compatible to Vodafone VOLTE and I have already activated it. For activation, either you need to place request through vodafone store or send email to appellate in your area. They will activate from back end.
Have you installed the august security update patch? If yes then get your phone flashed with the official firmware and don't install the security update. This will solve your problem
