Came across this method of rooting G6 which different from the 872H method I have seen here, the one where you have to yank the USB cable. Does this work? Can anyone confirm if this has worked for them?

I tried follow 2 separate quick or auto-root guides for this phone, but after performing the room, I am no longer able to access the device via USB or use the WI-FI on the device. The Wi-Fi gives an invalid sim card as the excuse (I don't have an active one right now), and the USB isn't working even after installing drivers and software from Samsungs site, and messing with the usb menu numbers. USB works in order to root the device, and it worked prior to rooting. HELP?!
Or you flashed the wrong version of CF auto-root or you need to remove Knox.

Thanks, finally got the phone rooted, what is the easiest way to unlock the phone from this point? It's at 4.4.4 model M919. I can only find guides for 4.4.2, but those do not work. Is the best option to flash to an older version? How is that done?

You probably need to temporarily flash an old modem. Then apply that procedure and then flash back a correct modem.
This has probably been answered but I'm not finding it anywhere. Is it possible to root Verizon LG G2 39A without a PC? I tried stump and towel root, both say they've been patched. Also found this method: http://www.laurivan.com/root-a-lg-g2-on-osx/ but I have no idea how old it is or if it works.
I thought there used to be a sticky on this forum with current root methods but maybe that has changed, I've been mia a while. Anyways, any help would be appreciated. Heck, even a pointer to the latest root method for PC might be something.
Can anyone point me to a guide to root the original, stock Marshmellow Android version of the G4 Plus? All I see are Nougat and Oreo guides

Thanks. Any tips on how to get ADB to see the device? It refuses to, so I cant unlock the bootloader. I've tried 3 different USB drivers off motorolas sites and 4 different cables. It just doesnt work.

Fastboot devices command does not show your devices serial number?
What PC you have? Disable all firewalls and driver signature verification, also try other PC of possible or other USB ports.
Guess 4th time is a charm, it worked, all rooted now. Thanks for link!!
So my beloved LS997's charging port has given up the good fight and no longer works, so I have been hamstringing it along charging batteries outside the phone using an external battery charger... And bought myself a "New Unlocked LS997" that came with Android 7.0 with the intention of rooting it and flashing LineageOS on it and being good to go.
Problem though, Dirty Santa doesn't seem to work beyond step one, and when I attempt to flash a different KDZ per other rooting methods I am getting a SPC code error preventing me from flashing said KDZ.
Anyone have any luck rooting these devices? Thanks in advance!

Use the How to root ZV7 guide by runningnaked. Also you need to flash the vs995 file with Uppercut or the modified Uppercut floating around somewhere. If you are past ZV7 you can't do anything for root. With Uppercut make sure your phone is all set for adb and properly connected. Then also try to open Uppercut as administrator. It will show dump system and other options at bottom if loaded correctly.
If us996...then try the official lg unlock bootloader method. What I described is for ls997.
Ls997 cross flashed to us996...idk. depends on what software version if that's that case.
As for adb...when connected to PC make sure to also have photo transfer selected instead of file tranfer.
If it's an LS997 that's been cross-flashed to US996 firmware, then it should be rootable because if it weren't , then you wouldn't even be able to cross-flash anything on it.

I used the modified LGUP found over here.
Make sure you put the phone in download mode (with the phone powered off, hold down volume-up, then connect the phone via USB to your computer) before running LGUP. The rooting guides don't mention this since they assume you know how to downgrade firmware before starting the main rooting procedure.

My mistake...yes download mode before lg up...not adb. True on the cross flashed and being rootable.
I"m finding it impossible to find anything on rooting the LG Stylus 2.. I know it's an old phone but I'm hoping someone out there has a solution to this..
I've tried Kingo Root. Both the App and PC version fails to root the phone.
This phone is running Android 7.0.
I've rooted phones before. The last one I rooted was a Blackview BV6000 which was very easy to root using Smartphone Flash Tool and a root file.
Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks
does anyone even know how to unlock the bootloader.. The known method using adb doesn't work. Either does the method listed on their website.. It all requires you to boot into your bootloader which I can't get into.
has anyone been successful at unlocking the bootloader on this phone. LG-K520DY. ?
LG Stylus 2 Duo.
Did anyone find a solution?
