So, I was told it was unlocked but I had no way to confirm.... I had dealt with this guy before, so I was not too worried about it. I put in my telus sim and it says pin unlock code....
So, can I unlock/root/rom it... if I do not know what carrier it is locked to? Is there a way to find out?
Any links or suggestions appreciated. specific links appreciated.
I found an unlock code for $7, good enough
thx
That is what I paid on ebay

Don't matter who it used to be locked to, get an online retailer to supply an unlock code (you need the imea), boom your done.
Unlocking / root is different. Basically unlocking refers to unlocking the bootloader of the ROM (nothing to do with the sim card), and rooting allows you root access to the file system, kinda like being an admin on a windows computer, you have the ability to edit / replace (an possibly F*** up) system files. There are plenty of great write ups that explain this stuf waaaaaay further but that is the gist of it.

I'm sure the free tool on the play store is able to unlock the tab providing you're rooted, someone put a post up on xda about it, just have a search for it.
Swyped from my finger to your face, on my Samsung Galaxy Note.
I've been searching like a madman trying to figure out why I cannot unlock my bootloader, I have followed Heisenberg's How-To Guide For Beginners to the T and when I get to Motorola's website to get the unlock code I get this message "your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking". My device is one of the one's listed on their website as being able to be unlocked. Can anyone help me figure this out?

I did through chat they gave me a number to call because the person I spoke with couldn't figure it out, I just don't want them to know that I am unlocking it and put me down as a voided warranty. Just figured I'd ask here first before contacted them.

Well, you can't get an unlock code from Moto AND keep your warranty. You don't even have to use it.. once you request it, warranty is gone. Not sure how hard-a$$ed they are about it, but they sure give plenty of warnings during the process.

Good to know, thanks. It's not worth it right now then I'm still covered under warranty for another 8 months and just had to send the phone out for repairs to the USB charging port.

1.That app is unreliable, result may very, many users complain of bootloop resulting from the updates it downloads
2.i believe that's a beta version of Nougat, it doesn't mean it's full of bugs or unusable, if you're able to download it and try, read about first how to rollback from noUgat to MM so that if you find the beta not to be what you want you know what to do.

Depends on the unlock method, but if you relock your bootloader before returning to vendor for what ever reason, you should be good, and also install stock ROM and remove any modifications such as root etc. before returning for service.
Note:
Huawei keeps record of every device that had asked for bootloader unlock code from their site and thus they check every device prior to service, and this is where they get a lot of people wether relocked bootloader or not, and also this depends where you live...so using other unlock methods that are "warranty proofed" are advisable, but this cost money JFYI.

You can use DC-Unlocker. It costs 4€ for 4 credits (1€/1 credit). There are many videos on YouTube how to use this. Just check it out!

If I install the beta update from the Firmware Finder application, will I be able to install the official version of the Nougat when it will be released for the C432 region?
Can a kind heart please help me get my bootloader code? I tried the unlock site but couldn't get through (Error 404 Page not found).
Contacted the Huawei Support Team but they said their server for boot loader is under maintenance and will be up again next month.
You can try to send an email to huawei and thell them that you want your code.
But I ask them to give mine and they never respond.
I ended up paying 4 euro to DC unlocker and get my code.

There is still a working solution to get the key and unlock your bootloader. Here it is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/how-to-unlock-huawei-bootloader-removal-t3780903
*If HCU-Client gives you error, there is a fix in post #87 in the other thread.
I unlocked my P10 Plus yesterday.
Hello there,
i hope i am in the correct section. I have purchased a Nokia 6.1 (TA-1050) and i would like to install Lineage OS to use Google/FB as less as possible. If there is a more secute OS, please let me know.
I know about hikaricalyx and techmesto, that i can purchase there a key to unlock my bootlooader. Are those two websites safe to use? I dont know what they do with my IMEI and my serialnumber. Second, can i be sure that they dont install some third party tools in my smartphone while the unlocking process?
This is still quite new for me, sorry if i ask something already asked.
Greetings.

Sadly it didnt work. But i have no problem to pay 5-10 € to buy this bootloader unlock. MY main "probleme" is, how safe to use they are. Can i be sure, that they dont install some third party software in my smartphone?
Thanks, Greetings.

Um paying would be fine, if it is a trusted source.
Look for sources which many people have vouched for it.
I wouldnt buy it but in your case there seems like no choice.
I got my bootloader unlock from hikaricalyx and its very safe and takes only few minutes to unlock the bootloader. If you are aware regarding how to unlock the bootloader then you can only apply for bootloader unlock on your own during which you will be given a command prompt tool which you need to download and run on your pc with your phone connected. This tool will then produce some numbers which you need to provide hikaricalyx and in return he will then inform you the bootloader unlock key which you need to again input in tht tool.
He will not ask for your imei number.
Hello.
I have unlocked my Nokia and installed LineageOS. I used the service from hikaricalyx and it was very easy. I got a lot of help and he was very kind. Even if my phone was unlocked and had some trouble to install LineageOS he helped me. I dont think, that the files we used to unlock my phone was corrupted.
For everyone who wants the files: These are useless for you. Every time you boot your phone, it will generate a random singature. We read this ramdom hash and he signed the unlockfiles with that hash. IF you want to install LineageOS like me, on your Nokia 6 these ~5$ are worth it.
Thank all of you who replied.
I am done with this thread, but i let it open for someone who have simular questions. Sone mod can close it if he want.
