Sorry for so late answer. I'm new to this forum. I fighting almost same problem. This option was deleted by Android Developers. Turned on by default now. Despite it enabled it not working right. I think so named deep sleep mode or doze mode disabling your Wi-Fi. Sorry can't help more.

Advanced tweak or diamond tweak might help if your device supports the software, or vice versa I should say.
Hi,
on my x10 with 2.1 nordic I have strange problem with wifi.
When i turn it on it find and connect to my wifi network but after a while (when i'm not using the phone) it just brake the connection and cant connect again until i do it manually.
Any ideas? Its really annoying me that my phone is using 3G instead of wifi after some timeout.
Mine does this as well. When I have WiFi enabled it doesn't use it unless I disable it and re-enable it.
Same here
Also it does another strange thing.
When I have connected to my Home Wifi and entered my password everything is fine. When I turn my WIFI off and back on. The saved connection to my home network is shown + again my home network without the PW. Very strange.
I am on the global generic 2.1.
I got round this by setting the wifi sleep policy to "never".. uses a bit more juice but I'm still getting a full day out of it.
Play a little bit with battery saver app. It will help

I don't like them.. I've tried a few but they all caused other problems, and never really saved me much juice either.

Hi
did anyone get "Disconnect WiFi when screen off" working with Vegacomb 3.2 Build 9n Update3? Mine turns off with the screen (mostly) but when screen is turned on and unlocked, it is not reconnected (802.11g with WPA2/PSK). In the settings I see "disconnected" for Wifi, while the checkbox is ticked (wifi is enabled). I have to uncheck and check the Wifi checkbox to reconnect again.

happens to many of us too, I believe is a known Bug but I haven´t seen a FIX yet.
Same as I said in your other thread,
In future, post your Questions in the General section.

Development sections are not for questions.
Any further breach of XDA rules will not end well.
Has anyone noticed an issue in which the Wi-Fi disconnects after the device's screen is off for > 10 minutes?
Mine is doing this. Once I turn the screen on and unlock, it connects to the Wi-Fi network. There are no issues with the network itself as best I can tell -- I'm using it for work as well and haven't had any connections drop.
It doesn't happen if I turn the screen off and back on within 10 minutes (guesstimating).
The bootloader is unlocked and the device is rooted. No custom ROM has been loaded -- running stock.
Running:
Android: 4.1.1
Build: JRO03D
Kernel: 3.1.10-g5202719

Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep
Set it to Always

Well, this was embarrassing. At least it wasn't someone with a join date of yesterday (which was the level my question was clearly on).
Thanks.
Dear all,
I've an Android device XTRONS (px5) in my car.
It is fully functional and gets his WIFI from an external WIFI-USB-Stick.
I don't know why, but WIFI turns off after a while. Sometimes after hours, sometimes after minutes,... I checked the settings "never turn WiFi off" for saving energy and also I've installed some apps who should activate WiFi automatic, but there is no change. It keeps OFF and a have to activate manually...
My question is, is there a possibility to ALWAYS ON WiFi? maybe writing something into android or something?
The device is just on when car is on, so i do not have to save the power for WiFi at all.
Please help me solving this confusing problem. Especially for driving with Navigation app or Spotify this makes me so crazy
Best regards and thanks in advance
Sven

Which WiFi chip do your units have? The MD725?
If you use FCC launcher there is an option to enable WiFi on boot. There is also a WiFi widget I believe so you can turn it on very easily from your home screen.
