Hey team XDA ?
I have sold my T580, and Honor 10 to bag this gorgeous hunky phone. But im upset it is not Arm64 firmware, because i cant get to play Life is Strange . Followmsi did a gorgeous 64bit version for the t580 that worked for the game. I so need a 64bit for this new model. Yeah i know its like so new, but just wondered if anyone has their development mits on one, and if theres any news of a 64 bit rom in the pipeline aka like lineage-16.0-20181011 (64-Bit). I so need this ready for game to while away the time after my surgery. ?*?
Love and thanks hugs, Katdroid
You're posting in wrong forum, it's for 2016 not 2018 model. I'm not gonna judge your decision or even fact that you want to play on Android that's on you but on XDA there is a rule that you don't ask for job to be done. You can ask for help but you don't ask people to do something for you. There are barely any people that own new 2018 Tab A and it will never be a lot of people. Tab A doesn't get too much attention(just like any other android tablet) despite fact it's quite good(but overpriced tbh) so just be patient, who knows, maybe you'll see Lineage there one day but you never can be sure about THAT. 2016 model was considered really good, new one isn't as well received

But it's price is too high. 2016 is/was way better value for its money. New one is really overpriced(at least in my country)

Is it? I saw two or three posts discussing the 2018 model on this forum already. Are you aware of a separate forum for the 2018 models on XDA?

It doesn't seem like this was a square request for development in the original post. It looked like a query for the status of the 2018 model software.

I have no idea about the validity of this. I ordered the very phone that this review is for. Any thoughts?

As long as it is indeed a n7000 u can get the official rom updates here and the awsome roms from the devs. I am using a german note with hk rom and getting hk rom updates via kies . No problem at all.

That review is not correct.
I just received that exact phone last week, from Amazon. Each Galaxy Note has a region code to indicate where it came from (Mine was from the UAE). This code can be changed to any region you want. This will allow for a stock upgrade to ICS, when it comes out.
Also, just like the previous poster said, you can root and put any rom you want on your Note.
I am running the stock ICS beta, from January. For me, it is awesome. I am running at 213 DPI which gives me the tablet mode look.

I'm sorry, did you say a stock ICS beta from January? For Note? From Samsung? Or did you mean the trial build of CM9?
Sorry, I meant the cm9 beta.

So you believe misinformation from an Amazon review, but don't believe the people in the forum where you posted asking if it were true? Makes sense.
Most devs go to the Amazon review page so everyone knows the truth about phone updates

I never believed the Amazon review, but I never discredited it either. I asked you smart people here at xda what you thought so I could make an educated decision of my own. I trust you guys more than an Amazon review, but trust my final conclusion more than either.

So you neither discredit nor credit what is posted on xda and Amazon reviews nor do you place credibility on the opinions or facts of those places above what you personally believe which is based off the things you read which may or may not have any significant validity as to its claims, which is still eclipsed by the fact that you take everything with "a grain of salt" that is on the internet, which is the place you have come to with a question seeking an answer.
I think you should meet with an authority figure who you can't discredit, in person (to eliminate the internet factor), so you can get the facts.
I know the perfect person, he can be found in a mirror.
P.S. stay free
It'll get updated to ICS. Don't worry. But it will be layered with TouchWiz. In this year, Samsung will not be stupid enough to cut the cord on a 3 month old device. That would be pure suicide. The PR nightmare.
Basically true. My conclusions is derived from all the information I've gathered with consideration of credibility of the various sources.

Obviously we are all waiting for the Note 4, yet it's Pricey.
Now comes the hard question.
Which one to buy ? and
Which will the Dev support ? (Future Proofing)
N910C or N910S
Snapdragon over Exynos
We all saw it in the S4 between the 9505 and 9500 so I don't want to get stuck in the same loop.
Please advise at the earliest since all the articles on the Web refer to Chip variants and differences yet no one has a solid answer to which will be supported and would be considered as a real investment. I hear the Exynos is benchmarked with 40K therefore exceeding our favorite Snapdragon chip !?
That makes it even worse to decide
International version is snapdragon if u care about custom stuff go for it.

Kinda. There's now multiple international versions and some are Exynos (some of Europe, Aus, NZ, HK and Korea)

I think the exynos version(s) this time around may prove to be a bit more popular because the believe (uncertain) that the 5433 will run 64bit (future proofing).

Tough to say, All of the USA market will have snapdragon, as will many other countries. That means there will be a greater percentage of "market share" of the S805 version with a better chance of having dev support on it.
Snapdragon
This is a million dollar question right here...

hahaha that's so true. Snap will have better dev support and GPU while the exynos MIGHT be 64bit enabled anytime soon and is definitely faster, but still not sure of how faster in daily use. Now it's up to you and wait for more information to come. For now, that's about it.

you give me far too much credit, i port recoveries and do minor things. bootloader exploits are beyond my scope of even understanding how many actually work.
The Exynos model should be faster, better on battery, and possibly offer 64-bit down the road. I'm going with that one.
Hey friends,
We know there is a lot of excitement in the community surrounding the Lollipop updates for the One, and for good reason. We are just as excited as you are.
We never intended to keep you waiting. Unfortunately, we ran into some unexpected roadblocks. First, there was an unforeseen OS signing issue, which has recently been resolved. Our camera module had stability issues on Lollipop, and we had to rebuild it for compatibility. Several other crucial drivers, including our Wi-Fi drivers, also needed to be updated to work flawlessly with the upgrade. Admittedly, it took a little more time than we had planned, but we only release updates that we are proud of; that means refusing to take shortcuts or deliver sub-par experiences.
With all of that in mind, here are the official release dates for Android Lollipop on the OnePlus One:
CM 12S: The official OTA update for the OnePlus One will be released on or before March 30, 2015
OxygenOS: The official release of our own Lollipop-based ROM will be available for download on or before March 27, 2015
To show you how serious we are about this commitment to our community, we are prepared to put our money where our mouth is. If we miss either one of these deadlines, we will give away five (5) 64GB OnePlus One devices to our fans. Reply to this thread to be eligible.
It’s our little way of saying thank you for being patient and for joining us on our journey to create amazing, user-driven experiences.
Never Settle.

So, I was wondering, is it worth buying the Nexus 6P right now or is there a better Nexus or other device on it's way?
My requirements are basically just CyanogenMod for a long time.

Up to you.
Do you need the latest and greatest?
If so you need to wait until about Nov.
I have 6p and like it. But at this time, I urge you to look at ZTE Axon 7. It's top specs and now newegg sells it for $400 and includes a Monster headphone.

I guess I will buy 6P then.
Wise choice that has plenty of N6p enjoyment and XDA fun left!
If you buy directly from HTC you can get it unlocked with an unlockable bootloader.
They don't ding you for unlocking the bootloader and right now you can get it for $599.
https://www.htc.com/us/go/buy-htc-10/#unlocked
The unlocked version can be made to work on Verizon:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/vzw-how-to-unlocked-model-vzw-t3376743
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/HTC-10,Google-Nexus-6P/phones/9582,9587
Smaller screen, same resolution.
Snapdragon 820 vs the 810.
I don't know, 64GB and you get microSD support; it's a tough call.
Although I have the 6P, if I were buying today I might go for the HTC10.
Just got the 6P through Amazon Prime deals 2 days ago. Replacing my s6 edge. totally happy with it.
