WiFi missing after update - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was on 6.3 rooted, used flashfire to install 7.1 developer. Everything is normal except the Wi-Fi is completely missing. A weird mac address is shown 02:00:00:00:00:00:00. I used flashfire to install 7.1 reCovery and 7.01 recovery with same results. Anybody have this problem?

[Q] Rom Danvdh 5.0 (SuperSu Problem)

hi i installed the ROM which I liked a lot, but I'm suffering from problems in supersu
says I have to update the binary, and I update and not change anything. every time I apps that need access root tells me that not have such permission.
what I could do to fix this? do not want to change because this rom is great!
already returned to ROM 4.4.4 did root and installed this ROM 5.0 but nothing changed, I installed the 1.2.4 kernel Googy and still not have root access.
Anyone know anything I can do?
Did you install the latest supersu package 2.40 is recommended since it's fully working with lollipop

[SOLVED] Lost root after flashing CM12 nightly on D802, can't get it back

So I finally went to update CM11 to CM12 and flashed a nightly. For some reason I lost root. I've tried with SuperSU from Play Store but it either fails (normal way) or doesn't do anything when it tries to use TWRP recovery.
Is it normal to lose root like this? How do I root again?
Edit: Solved. Seems root is a self-contained CM12 feature now. Enable it in developer options (tap build number a bunch of times in 'about phone')

PHH's Root Disappeared

Hi Guys.
As the title suggests root access suddenly disappeared from my nexus 6p yesterday.
DigitalHigh rom 7.0 was flashed through the latest twrp (3.0.2-2) and everything was running fine. I got the notification that the SU binary is out of date from PHH's SuperUser. Opened it but nothing really happened. So I downloaded superSU and suddenly it prompted me that the device isn't rooted. Being unfamiliar with PHH's SU I decided to flash the latest SuperSu through TWRP but the phone wouldn't boot.
Right now it has been restored to a backup taken just before flashing SuperSU which means everything is running fine and even android pay works however there's no root access. Is there something specific that might have caused this?
Are there any ways to re-gain root?
Haven't gone through the process of a clean flash yet as the phone is needed for work however even if all of that is done the SU binary will still need to be updated. Is there a different method for updating PHH's root?
So far I have tried clearing cache etc. but noting worked.

Click to collapse
Phhusson's superuser and SuperSU don't mix. If you're back to booted, but not rooted with Phh, you'll need to either flash one of the Nougat boot images from the nexus/angler folder or the latest superuser.zip (I think the latest is r229) from http://superuser.phh.me

Help on how to root my j500m

The problem is this:
I want to root my j500m with magisk via twrp but I would like to know if I can root with my version of android 5.1.1 if there is no problem, or I have to upgrade to 6.0.1 to do the process?
Another thing, that when I install the twrp on my device with android 5.1.1 loads everything well but at the time of powering it clears the operating system of the phone and does not turn on completely, it only stays in the samsung logo and I have to flash the rom of stock to solve it but the recovery returns to stock. The version of the recovery that was installed was 3.0.0-0. I would like to know if it is because I am doing it with android lollipop and I should do it in marshmallow or no matter what version of android you have. Thank you.
use this twrp.and first install Magik apk and flash lastest magisk. zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-recovery-pro-galaxy-j5-2015-t3728264
And there's no need to update to Android 6 for root
Thanks, but now I have another problem, I just wrote it in the last message of the forum, if you could help me.
Your twrp version is old 3.0.0.0
download this version 3.1.1.1 official
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j5lte/twrp-3.1.1-1-j5lte.img.tar
and flash use odin.
Thanks friend, I have updated to marshmallow and I have installed the recovery 3.2.1-1 with aroma support, and I have rooted with magisk, now everything is fine.

Lenovo A3500-H: recommended ROM?

I have a Lenovo A3500-H. Still a nice device, but with outdated Android.
Is there any recommendation for an alternative ROM where evereything works fine? Camera, Bluetooth, LTE...
I guess there hasn't been much development recently, but what's the last most stable release?
Ok, then I'll write my answer here, since I figured out.
You can do it on your Tablet without using the PC.
1. Download AOSPExtended For Lenovo A3500 (Android 7.1.2 Nougat) and TWRP 311 and put it on your SD Card (don't know if it works from internal locations).
2. Get root on the Device using Kingo Root.
3. Get the official TWRP app (link from APKPure here) and use it to flash the TWRP311_Lenovo_A3500.img you downloaded before.
4. Reboot into TWRP (pressing and holding volume up+down+power button), and flash the AEX-N a3500.zip from there.
This worked fine. Make sure to use at least this version of TWRP, didn't work with 2.x.
Didn't test the ROM too much, so far it seems to work for all basic things I tried.
If you have problems with internal memory or missing superuser rights, you'll additionally need to flash the storage.xml.zip as well as some supersu.zip.
You'll get this at:
