Colleagues, please tell me what could be the problem?
It is given: Nokia 5 (model TA-1053), pure Android 8.1.0 with all the latest updates (did not change anything, the bootloader is blocked, the phone passed Google certification, the phone passes the engineering test - everything works fine). Everything was as it was when buying a phone in the official store.
There is a MasterCard Debit bank card that works with Google Pay.
The latest version of Google Pay is approved, the card has been successfully added to it.
NFC is enabled on the phone.
Absolutely nothing happens when you bring the phone to the terminal. The position of the phone in relation to the terminal and the time spent by two devices next to it changed.
To check, I installed a program for reading the information of a simulated card - "NFCSmartCardReader" on a Nexus 7 tablet (also contains an NFC chip). No reaction when combining the phone and tablet.
But! I installed a program for reading NFC tags "Checking NFC" both on the phone and on the tablet - it turns out to exchange tags in one way or the other.
It also turns out to send, for example, photo / video / audio from a tablet to a phone and vice versa from a phone to a tablet, via NFC.
But with Google Pay there is no reaction
What am I doing wrong, can someone tell me? It feels like there is some kind of security block somewhere and the phone simply does not send the card data to a terminal or card reader program request.
Thank you in advance.
colleague, in Android Beam works well?
and the banking terminal where you want to make the transaction, has no faults?

1. Yes, of course, repeatedly transmitted and received files: photo, video, audio without problems.
2. My second phone, xiaomi mi5 works without problems with this banking terminal. In addition, I tried in various stores at terminals Verifone and Ingenico brands.
My observations and conclusions.
I also have a Xiaomi mi5 phone which works without problems with a non-contact payment with a similar bank card.
For experiment I installed a program from PlayMarket for reading NFC tags "NFC Tools" both on the Nokia 5 and on the Xiaomi Mi5. The program is running on two devices (read NFC tags).
When the phones are combined, the following happens: Nokia 5 reads the Xiaomi Mi5 tag (tag type, available technology, serial number, ATQA, SAK), but Xiaomi Mi 5 can not read the Nokia 5 tag. I understand this also happens in the bank terminal - it's can not read a tag / virtual card created on Nokia 5. For some reason, I can not understand: there is a security lock, the protocol does not match, Nokia 5 does not receive a request for the tag and accordingly does not respond in return, maybe something else.
I can not understand - this is hardware problem of Nokia 5 and it should be sent for repair, or it is a software problem of Android.
Nokia's support could not help

I do not think it's a physical problem, if so, the NFC could fail in other uses (Android Beam) since it's the same NFC antenna
What has to be a problem in android, has it restored a factory state? Do you have a bank card that has an application for wireless payments? (type BBVA Bancomer Walllet) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bbva.bbvawalletmx&hl=en_419
What can be done? Can you be a new user on the phone and do some testing?
1. The phone was reset to factory settings. Cleaned the cache and data services NFC, Google Pay, Google Play Store, BlueTooth..Without result.
2. The card is valid for use with Google Pay and contactless payments.
3. If there is a need - ready to participate in testing.
I no longer know what to do
There is a Nokia 5 phone with Android 8.1.0 with the latest updates. Google Pay is installed on it, Mastercard bank card, a bank that has the ability to work with Google Pay, has been successfully added and activated there. The problem is that the terminal and the phone can not communicate with each other. All I can see on the phone is sound and vibration, the same as when transferring files using AndroidBeam. The virtual card stored in the phone is not readable?
There is a tablet Asus Nexus 7 (2012) with Android 4.4.4. It has the Pro Credit Card Manager NFC program installed. When combining the phone and tablet, the tablet also cannot read the data of the virtual card stored in the phone. On the tablet with the sound and vibration, the same as when transferring files via AndroidBeam.
If you run Google Pay on my phone, then when you combine the tablet and phone, the phone is a suggestion to click on the screen to transfer data, and after clicking on the screen on the phone, Google Play starts with the Google Pay page open on the tablet.
1. The same bank card, added to Google Pay on another Xiaomi Mi5 phone (Android 8.0.0), is successfully virtualized and read using Pro Credit Card Manager NFC.
2. Transferring files between Nokia 5 and any other NFC device via AndroidBeam works without problems in both directions.
If it doesn't bother you and there are options for solving my problem with Nokia 5 - please write about them.

sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place...
I'm very new to android, but I recently played with a friend's G1 running Android 2.1 and fell in love with the OS, and now I want to put Android (don't really care which version, anything is better than WinMo 5) onto my Palm Treo 750 on the AT&T network. what would I need to know in order to accomplish this?
Because my contract is up in a little under a month, I do not mind if I brick my phone that much - I can just switch back to my old Treo 650 until I can get a new phone dirt cheap when I renew.
I'm even willing to try out an experimental code that someone is trying to debug.
My one restriction is because I'm running 64-bit Windows 7, I can't directly sync my phone with my computer, I have to be able to run the upgrade to Android from a 2Gb Micro SD card.
So any suggestions?
and thanks in advance,
Odin
You could try to download and follow the instructions on: AndroidOnHtc.
I had luck just trying to HaRET.exe on different versions.
I wouldn't however ditch the CE 5.0 just yet. Without official handset manufacturer support it is unlikely to get all the features working.
Here is a List of features I have seen not working on some devices:
WiFi (actually on most)
GPS
Sound (for example on the touch pro 2)
Bluetooth (not that I care)
Screen resolution (especially if just using a Bundle designed for a different device.)
Let us know how you get on. So far I have only seen it running on HTC devices. So good luck.

Don't use WiFi, GPS, or Blue Tooth, so all I have to really worry about (other than bricking) is sound and screen resolution.
As for only working HTC phones, from what I've read, the Treo 750 is essentially a re-packaged HTC phone - though I cannot remember which one they cited.
Thanks, I'll check out that link and keep everyone appraised is I manage to get it up and running.

Hello,
Like in subject, I can't find answers on the Internet, maybe some owner could help me out?
1) Is there a way to listen to music while charging the phone? Or watch a movie with normal Jack headset while charging the phone?
2) Are call recording applications, like i.e. 'Call Recorder ACR' (name taken from Google Play) working correctly? I remember I had some problems with recording on some models, currently I have Xperia Z which records calls flawlessly. This is one of the most important things for me and I would appreciate if someone could answer.
3) Does it have an application which allows to do manual focusing during shooting of a photo? It doesn't need to be the official camera app that has this capability, can be some alternative camera app.
4) Can you save movies from camera application to location on dynamic USB stick? I.e. you plug in an USB stick to your phone, can you record movies to this pendrive directly?
Thanks for any answers
mmm very specific questions, to be honest I can only answer you on the first one and it is a no, as of today there is no adapter to do that with a 3.5mm headphones, you can use bluetooth to do it. The other questions you may use apps from the play store or any other source I think
3,yes . never tried 4. but should be yes, it's standard feature for android.
I just tried acr. It does record both sides of the call. However, the volume of the other side is significantly louder than your own voice. You can still hear both sides, but not comfortably.
Thanks guys, very much appreciated!
By the way, @qingcai, what "should be" and what "is" are often different things , I know about the possibility to write videos/photos directly to SD card, but I've never actually seen possibility to write directly to external USB drive. Since I haven't seen it in at least 5 different phones, it seems for me that it's not a standard Android feature

I just tried, and I don't see any option in the camera app to change the storage. Tried google camera too.
find a otg cable, and plug in a pen drive and see.

I bought a GT88 off of ebay, brand new. Is there anything i'm missing with this thing? Particularly...
Well, i'll jump right to it. In the menues there is an option for apps, and "uninstall all".
Are there apps i can get for this thing?
Will it work with a freedompop sim card?
What extra things can i do with this beyond the simple menu?
I put a sim card in it... and nothing happened. I can't find how to set APN settings...
i DID find that there's a repository of watch faces as vxp files that are pretty easy easy to install by just putting in the microSD via the cable
Wonder how to fix Gt88 Smartwatch Display
Good Morning.
I have a Gt88 Smartwatch and it said and stated it was IP57 Waterproof so i was showering with it i dont know if screw was a little loose but the Watch Powers on but the Display isn't turning on, its turning on their is audio but the display isn't picturing, I tried opening it up and seeing if their is a display adapter or display ribbon but their isn't. I cannot figure out how to get the display picturing again, i tried to update all the drivers via My M32Cd i7 model Computer i also tried removing the Bluetooth device from devices on windows 10 and reinstalling and setting it up but the display isn't working but that is how all the new smartwatches should be Manufactured compute and function ( through the Computer and computers ) .. can you perhaps send me a video of the procedure in which fix the display.
Thanks.
Akeem Ricardo Wade Ross.
How do I put a password on a gt88 smartwatch?
Hi, just wondering if I could use my old phone as a Car "Black Box". In other words, with it connected to the OBD-II (OBD2) port, could it log all my driving data (when I accelerated/braked, indicated for a lane change, tracked my revs and speed, GPS tracked my route, etc)?
I mean you certainly can. There's plenty of bluetooth OBD2 modules that will connect to your phone through a variety of apps, though you might have to sift past those that require subscriptions or active provider plans or similar requirements, but I'm sure there are some that work with free phone apps to do what you're thinking.
I guess if you have an old phone doing nothing otherwise, you might as well chuck a big sd card in it, or even use an OTG adapter to connect a larger storage, and hell you could even use it as a dashcam or interior cam as well, or at least provide storage and viewing for a dedicated camera otherwise.
Might as well be as protected and secure as you can!
I am desperately seeking help......
I have just fitted a brand new Android 11 based head unit to my wife's car and I am having one issue in particular that is creating a lot of angst. My wife is not tech savvy and would simply like to jump in her car, start it up and have everything work inlcuding playing her favorite radio apps. I can have this work for her perfectly via Bluetooth Tethering when a toggle under ANDROID SETTINGS - CONNECTED DEVICES - PHONE - INTERNET ACCESS is switched on. However, this toggle reverts to off everytime the car is switched off and needs to be manually switched on eveyrtime to restore functionality. The unit supports wired Android Auto, but even then my wife does not want to pull the phone out of her bag everytime and plug/unplug. Is there any way the unit can remember the last setting or have it default to on? I have tried Macdroid app, but it does not offer this specific action. I have attached an image of the setting in question along with the specs of the head unit. Wifes phone is a Samsung Galaxy A52 runing Android 11. Help me save my marriage!

Hi, if unit has SD cards and USB drives in multimedia ports remove them first, then tweek settings again and then save settings (device will write in internal device memory) by shutting down device (remove key / shut down engine).
Repeat procedure if first time is not saved in internal memory (without SD cards or USB in ports).
After bootup again it will eventually write in internal memory and save settings.

Thanks for your reply, however there are no SD cards or USB drives. There does not also appear to be an option to 'save" settings.
It "saves" by it self when you turn device off (or remove key from contact). As for USB or cards, ok, you probably have master setings/factory settings in there that is entered with a pin code, do you know how to enter it ?
(thru infotainment)
We will go one step at a time.

Thanks very much for your reply! When I toggle the switch to on, it does not retain that setting when I turn car off and remove the key. I do have the passcode to get into the factory settings of the HU, but I have had a good look and cannot identify any setting which relates to my issue, that's not to say it doesnt exist.
Take a picture of your device factory settings please, or maybe it's better to record a small video.

Is this what you were after? Apologies if I misread your message.
Yes, let me see where can we find memory issues
Most likely it is in APP SETTINGS menu.
Play with settings untill you find correct setting, it will not harm device in any way, but prior to changing anything take a photo of each settings menu to avoid unpleasent changes that lead to app and config problems.
