Does somebody know how to make split screen mode work with both active windows at not MIUI roms (Like NitrogenOS 9 Pie)?
You should be able to assign functions to the buttons. Go to settings and look for it. I'm running aicp and it's under aicp extras>hardware buttons.
Yeah, I did that. The problem is that one window gets paused when I tap other window. Do both windows stay active simultaneously when you use split screen?

When I go to the start menu the metro UI appears. However whenever I move the mouse the boxes vanish. The start menu background remains, so basically i have a grey screen. If I click where a shortcut box should be it works and takes me to the app or desktop. So basically everything is there, it just turns invisible as soon as i move the mouse.
I was running consumer preview without this issue. Any ideas?
EDIT:
Also just noticed that if I move the mouse to the right side of the screen and cause the dark bar to appear, the dark bar just flashes and is unresponsive. I then minimized chrome and the sidebar vanished. Now the sidebar, the start menu shortcut, and the recent apps no longer appear when i move the mouse to the corners of the screen. So basically i dont have access to the start menu until i restart.
Brand new N10 and just unlocked and rooted running the stock ROM for now.
Is there any way to remap the recent button to the menu button instead?
Well, ParanoidAndroid mapped a long press of the recents button to menu.
Run a custom ROM and configure the buttons however you want. You can set what they do for each button, add or remove buttons (up to 7 max), set what each button does when long-pressed, and even change the icon of any of the buttons. This is called the "AOKP style navbar" in most ROMs. Obviously that means you will get these features by running AOKP, but many other ROMs also use this same feature and way it is configured.
You should looking into Mr.Robinson's AOKP PUB ROM, it seems to be most people's favorite
I usually switch around my back and recents button, it just seems easier to work with how I hold my tablet and phone this way. I also like to make long pressing the back button automatically switch to the last used app I was on. Long pressing the recents button (for me) kills all open apps.

Click to collapse
Thanks for the details. Tried CleanROM first, but need more options. Will check out AOKP PUB next.
Hey, I own a nexus 4 16gb, its rooted.
Anyone knows about a good navigation bar alternative ? i can make it disappear with the qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 thing but i couldn't find a way to replace it.
I tried the LMT pie, worked pretty well until i got into a game.. for some reason it doesn't work in games, so i just needed to reboot my phone to quit the game.
I remember that i saw somewhere someone with a navigation bar appearing in the menu of long pressing the power key. anyone know how to do that or have another good alternative for a navigation bar ? Thanks
Aokp rom has buttons in the power menu, or you could use gestures; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontroldemo
Sent from my CM10.1 Nexus 4
Thanks, are there any more alternatives ?
You can try to add a ribbon to a edge of the screen.
Generally I put pie on the right side and a empty ribbon on the bottom which activate the "application window" ribbon when swiping from the bottom to the center of screen.
This option is present in many roms, including one I'm testing right now the Axiom rom.
Also, I activate Pie only in expanded desktop. You can add this action to the power menu, but I don't know how if you're on stock.
That's all I can do since I use LMT on my tablet with Pie installed too, I've never encountered problems.
I'm running the latest Cyanogenmod lightly on my Nexus 4. Is there a way to customize my home button to always return to screen 1 instead of the most recently used screen? I know that touching it twice does it, but I was looking to make it 1 by default and use the back arrow to get to the most recent. I'm usign the default launcher Trebuchet. (I also can't find where to customize my home screen items.)
My research shows that this was the opposite way in earlier Android 4.x versions but somewhere along the line it switched. Is there a setting that I can change or an app that I can use?
Hi there,
I moved yesterday from Dokdo ROM (based on CM12) to CM13 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-galaxy-s5-t3281502) and I miss some features.
I hope you can tell me whether I am just blind or if these features simply do not exist (maybe because of a too early version?!)
1) The configuration of the grid size of the home screen. That was possible with a long-press on the home screen. I do not find this configuration anymore.
2) Volume profiles: Until now I could change the profiles via the volume up and down keys. Now neither there, nor in the status bar or via the power button I find the option to change it?!
3) Nice-to-have feature: Display the seconds of the time. That helped me sometimes to decide whether I have to run to the bus or not I do not find this option either.
