Has anyone run DRMInfo yet on Oneplus 6T?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidfung.drminfo
According to the review: https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t-review/ it has support for Widevine L1.
I assume as long as the bootloader remains locked. Wish it was more like the Pixel, which doesn't care and keeps the L1 after an unlock.

even after bootloader unlock you will have L1. Its netflix that detects the bootloader unlock and only give you SD content.
does this apply to content like YouTube TV? OnePlus 6 worked at 1080p60 content stock. Once I unlocked the bootloader it knocked me down to 480p30.

Nope I'm unlocked and now I'm L3. It's by design to prevent recording HD content from Netflix but not only Netflix. I'm not very concerned as I don't watch streaming on my phone, but the modification is at phone level not only for an app.

Hey guys.
I've been searching around a bit looking for a solution to get the Playstation app and remote play app working on unlocked bootloader, but I haven't found anything.
Is it even possible?

Not possible. Once you unlock the bootloader you lose your DRM keys, remote play wont work and play station app will no longer work. You will just keep getting error messages. But if you backed up your DRM keys before you unlocked bootloader, you can relock it, then restore the keys to gain access to those features again. If you did NOT back up your sony keys that are unique to ONLY your phone you are SOL. I unlocked my phone, lost my keys and was basically stuck with a phone that couldnt do nothing i actually purchased it for. So i gave it to my wife and bought another one...
I read remote play was ported to every android 4.0+ but i couldnt figure out how to run it on my unlocked bootloader xperia z2. It is a shame how sony punishes us, at leas i could fix the camera, but i miss miracast and remote play

Completely depends what you want to do, you can alter it completely for a different phones lock screen or with apps like xposed you can alter it even more.
Depends how far you want to go.
The play store non root versions are awful, all they do is overlay the lock screen, they often come with ads and your old lock screen will still exist behind the overlay often showing up for a brief moment, not worth it in my opinion.
Root variants have the power to revoke the original or modify it.

I'm finding it hard to remember now but I cold have sworn I've had xposed on the Oneplus5 with safety net passing.
Could be wrong and have no intentions of using it again as the vast majority of mods I use simply don't work anymore..

Nothing there related to lockscreens
Google, themes and apps, xposed, there's nothing else
Try substratum lockscreen themes. I don't use any myself, but search the play store or xda for ideas of what is possible. Two examples are LockClean on Play Store or K-Manager on xda.

I've been sitting on my unlock bin for a few days now. Once exited to flash 9.0.x but now I left scratching my head of what do I lose by doing so. I've searched countless threads to come up with the following issues. Could some users that have made the jump clarify somethings? How can I extract the Tmo Modem before flashing? Is there a writeup somewhere?
1. Once the bootloader is unlocked - Corporate type apps stop functioning - INTUNE/Mobile Iron - ( I have to have INTUNE on my phone to pull company emails)
2 Google Pay - NFC - If seen a few post about Google Pay not working -
3. Unable to download some normal everyday apps from the play store - Netflix
4. Streaming content is reduced to 480P -
Yes you can go back to stock. Easiest way is by using MSMDownloadTool.
Of course you'll get storage wiped
MobileIron works for me. The only issue I've had with it is due to the parallel apps feature. You can remove the work profile and then mobile iron worked.
Try magisk to pass cts/safetynet.
Same with Google pay. You need a custom kernel or use Magisk. You'll pass cts/safetynet and can use it without any issues.
You can still download everything. Guess how? Yep, magisk.
Only Netflix and Amazon prime is limited. I'm not sure what Amazon puts their videos at, but Netflix does 960x540. Which isn't that bad at all, at least my opinion on a 6" screen. The Netflix sources are clean and there's no artifacts, so the video is better than it seems at that resolution. I'm not watching a lot of full length episodes or movies on my phone, so for me it's not a big deal.
And as mentioned above, you can go back to fully stock by using the msmdownloadtool. So just unlock your bootloader and try this all out. If there's any deal breakers, just go back to stock.

YouTube TV most tend to not add to the mix but it's also effected by a bootloader that's unlocked.
It defaults to 720x480 @ 30 FPS (basically 480p). The 30 FPS is key. Once you unlock bootloader it's L3 encryption and that's why for the others too (Netflix/Amazon Prime). Having bootloader locked you get 1920x1080 @ 60 FPS or 1280x720 @ 60 FPS on YouTube TV. Resolution isn't as big of a deal but the frame rate certainly is for sports.
You need to enable Magisk Hide, not just install Magisk.

There's no work around other than keeping your bootloader locked (then you won't have root).
It's widevine DRM encryption. Just about every device is L1 which provisions the device for HD playback. Once you unlock your bootloader you drop to L3 and are only provisioned for SD content. If you go back a year to the OnePlus 5T days OnePlus got in hot water with the community since they shipped a device without L1 support.
If you want to read more about it here, check it out. I haven't rooted my OnePlus 6T (first phone in 6 years to not do so by choice (e.g. there's root available vs no option out there)). I've got everything I need (system-wide adblock, iYTBP, etc.).
https://www.androidauthority.com/widevine-explained-821935/
EDIT: Run the MSMTool and go back to stock stock and you'll have a locked bootloader and back to L1 provision should you want it.

Not sure its even legal to just push an update and get L1.. these keys are normally factory flashed as google and others would not want keys released to the public in an OTA to be messed with.
You would normally need to send the phone to them like oneplus did.. even then netflix etc needs to approve the device as been secure.. so not sure miui would get it been packed with crap
