The last update, in July 1st, broke Smart Doctor, the stock optimiser app on the LG G6 H870DS. Now I can no longer close apps running in the background and at 3AM, Navigator app wakes me up, instructing me to turn left in 500 meters! ?
So now I have to reboot everytime after using Navigator to close it for good.
Has anyone else noticed this? Would a hard reset fix Smart Doctor? What other phone optimiser should I try?
I'm scared to allow root access and also scared to hard reset. ?
Please help ?

try this:
open settings, go to apps, find smartdoctor and smartdoctor related apps and click it, clean app data and cache, in all smart doctor apps you find there.
reboot the phone and see if that works.
didn't work ?
I guess there's no other way than hard reset

Today I've the problem again, the notification simply doesn't work, it looks like the sensor is failing or something because I took it out of the pocket, as usual, and it doesn't light on... having to use the power button again...
It happened other time, some weeks after I bought it... complaining with the technical support on Moto Care, without results, so I've factory reset and wipe everything, and it works...
So, my first guess is that the cache of Active Notification may have some guilty on that, but I can't find the app from it to clean and check if it works. Does anyone knows what app is it?
I'm not gonna to factory reset this time, it simply not useful as a solution.
Does anyone have/had this problem?
Regards,
It happened to be one time. I found the solution to be simply disabling Active Notifications and then re-enabling it.

If a factory reset fixes it, it's probably not a sensor issue. It's possible that an app you've installed is interfering with it somehow - do you have any kind of root apps, or apps that play with system resources (like process managers/Greenify/etc.), or apps that control notifications?
I've noticed this on 4.4 a few times, as well as the lag on unlocking from AN a few times, too. Then again, I'm still on the leak, so that may have something to do with it.
Case maybe? Make sure the screen is clean. That proximity sensor is sensitive.
I think I found the problem.
The app management of what will show on active notification... don't active any of those that did not come checked after a reset. I did check some "Google's" for active notification.
I've tried looking everywhere but haven't been able to find anyone with this issue. I have a fresh install of Resurrection Remix Marshmallow on my Galaxy S 5, and I have factory reset my Gear Live. When I download and open the Android Wear app, it acts as though there is already a watch paired, but has no information on it. Resetting the app, google play services, clearing caches and reinstalling has not fixed this issue. The app does not come up with the welcome screen, just goes straight to the screen as in the attatched image, with no way to pair a watch.
Anyone able to help here? Next step is to reinstall the ROM, but I want to check there's no simple solution first.
Is your Gear Live up to date? Did you check, if there is newest firmware for it? Maybe there is update, which you should force your Android Wear app with?
Uninstall Android and reinstall. Takes care of that occasional problem for me.
On the watch:
Settings, Un-pair with phone. (Old release of AW may say Factory reset.)
Do not set up the watch yet.
On the phone:
In Android Wear use the Disconnect... option.
In Android Wear, use Settings, Device settings and touch the watch name, Touch FORGET WATCH.
Settings, Bluetooth. If you still see the watch, touch Forget... the watch so it no longer appears in the list of paired devices.
Settings, Device, Apps, select Google Play Services. Clear cache and Clear data. Uninstall updates.
Settings, Device, Apps, select Google App. Clear cache and Clear data. Also Uninstall updates.
Settings, Device, Apps, select Android Wear. Clear cache and Clear data. Also Uninstall updates.
Play Store, Apps, My apps, touch the Update all button.
Let all updates complete. This may take several hours. The best thing to do is to put your phone on its charger overnight, with the phone having a steady WiFi Internet connection. Double check the next morning by going to My Apps again.
Reboot.
Now set up the watch as if you had just un-boxed it.
Let all updates complete. This may take an hour or so. If your watch is one or more major releases behind it may take several hours. The best thing to do is to put your watch on its charger next to your phone on its charger, with the phone having a steady WiFi Internet connection.
Reboot watch and phone.

Hello @kaise123,
I am having the exact same problem. The Android wear app doesnt show anything just remains blank. Did all sorts of deleting cache/data/uninstall/reinstall. Nothing is working.
Please can you let me know how you solved this issue?

Sorry for the really late reply, but I ended up simply reinstalling my ROM. I believe the issue was caused by using Titanium Backup to restore data to some Google services, even though I kept a fresh install of Android Wear.
In the last month or so all my app permission keep getting reset to 'deny everything' and when I open an app it keeps asking me for permissions access every few days ....
any idea what the heck is going on?
I've been having the exact same issue. Still, i dont know what triggers it. I've read somebody else had this issue after a phone restart. The most common app that gives me a headache or started to messed up was Whatsapp, which loses access to contacts and loses the ability to recognize the phone number. Please if you have further info or a workaround please let me know.
I just had this for the first time this morning... was wondering if it was a device or android issue?
ETA: I noticed it after a restart
I think is directly related to the phone model.
I wonder if it has something to do with the AVG Antivirus app. Do you have it installed?
I haven't tried to factory reset though..

Anyone having any issues with their phone crashing/restarting quite a bit?
A few times my phone wouldn't wake from sleep, so I've had to hold down the power and volume keys. Lots of times when I go to unlock the phone, it says that can't use biometrics as it has restarted, probably in my pocket without me noticing. It's also crashed once whilst I was actually using it, opening YouTube app.
I did a full Smart Switch restore from my S7, so that might have something to do with it. What's the best way to debug this to try and work out whether it's an app causing me problems or whether there's something with the phone?
Your phone might be defective, is it lagdragon or exynos? My S8+ is exynos and I've had no such problems with it, and nobody else that i talked to that also have exynos.

You could try settings>apps>reset app preferences. It'll obviously wipe out some stuff but if it is related to smart switch then it might solve it. This is the sort of thing restoring backups from smart switch/helium/titanium can do, and it ends up damn hard to diagnose. If all else fails I would factory reset it and let google play download and restore as many of the apps as it can and then manually reinstall the others from play store. If it still keeps crashing after than then it is probably faulty.
I just had one random restart after i had connected to the pc to transfer some stuff over, unplugged it and next thing i hear is a beep as it was rebooting. That is only the second time i have seen a random reboot since I got it though and I am putting a certain number of reboots down to being new/having a few bugs but it shouldn't be doing it very often.
Thanks, might have to try resetting app prefences. The only thing I really care about keeping is my SMS history and my launcher setup, both of which are backed up anyways.
I just traded my sprint lg v20 for this verizon lg g6 vs988 yesterday because I needed a gsm unlocked phone. Now I finally got a phone my son card works in but I've been up all night trying to fix this issue.
Seemingly at random the phone just starts installing "random" apps that I've never used before. Some of them include
Go90
Wish
Yelp
Yahoo mail
And several others I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure ill be reminded soon. I keep uninstalling them and they keep coming back. By the manner which they are installed on sure they are not normal bloatware. They download silently in the background even while I have an active foreground download going.
I've googled the issue and found no resolution. I also noticed the phone charges ridiculously slowly. The phone was also on an outdated firmware with a security patch from 2017. The built in system update would not detect any update for the phone. I had manually download and install the latest update on the computer last night.
After doing this with a completely fresh factory reset these apps were still installing themselves. I then used verizons pc upgrade assistant again and did a firmware repair but skipped the phone backup step so I again would be starting fresh. Again these app's keep installing themselves.
It seems to be on some kind of interval. After so much time that the phone is running it suddenly install another random app or apps I've never heard of before, then after so long all of a sudden some more different apps suddenly appear.
I also tried malwarebytes and of course it says nothing is wrong. Can someone please help me get this sorted?
Which firmware you have?, maybe it would be the best to flash clean stock firmware with LG UP.
You can find latest kdz here..
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-vs988-firmwares/
16a download via verizon upgrade assistant. Would reflashing the kdz via lg up do anything different than verizon upgrade assistant?
Ps I had to retype this message 3 times because half way through typing chrome just shut down for no apparent reason.
Finance
Groupon
EBay
Were can I download latest version of lg up. I only found one old for g4 and one that said 1.8.8.0 but wanted me to login.
Suspicious. What I do to prevent problems like this is to disable all apps possible, including googles apps and the Play store crap. Then go in to each app within settings and deny data access to them, clear the data and deny all hardware access that makes sense. For example, Groupon would not need microphone access so that access is removed. I think only the Contacts app has the phone permissions. It takes some time, but worth it. Reboot after you are done and re-check because sometimes the settings don't seem to stick. Maps will still work without Google Services. Using Android_x86 in a VM, trusted apps are downloaded in a virtual machine and then put on the sd card and then installed on the phone. I'm not a very trusting person Its suspect that the "Emergency Alert" app has access to everything and I can't deny microphone or any other access for it.
I think it may have been the app named "app flash" that was doing it. Its apparently the app verizon added that by default sits on the left side of the home screen. I disabled it from my home screen first while setting up my phone after reset but left app flash active. Its supposed to be some kind of assistant app that recommends apps to install and acts as a hub for all your other apps.
So far I haven't had anything else auto install(nothing visible anyways). After uninstalling all the 10 or so apps that were installed they haven't come back yet. Hopefully it stays that way and nothing malicious going on in the background.
Anyone please link me latest lg up? Still like to a complete fresh firmware install just to be safe. One that will completely wipe everything and install the os fresh.

Both my wife and I have had that happen. The apps we got were Big Farm, TMZ, and some other crappy game.
Our phones are unlocked and rooted, so I immediately did a bare-metal refresh - wiped everything including system and internal storage, and did a complete stock flash from recovery. Since then we have kept "Install from unknown sources" and "Auto-update" both set OFF, and have had no further issue.
