High standby battery drain on 4G network - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hi
From the first day of owning my Le Pro3 Elite I am facing severe battery drain when network type is set to anything else than "Only GSM". On 2G standby drain never exceeds 0.4%, when set to "Global" or "LTE/WVDMA/GSM" it is about 2% per hour, which is ridiculously high.
The drain is the same under 20S baseband, flashing the 26S genesys to update baseband made no effect. Complete system reinstall, including baseband did not solve the issue. I am running the latest AICP 13.1.
Is anybody having the same problems?

I have the le pro 3 x727 n i had the same problem what i did was use suspend actions in the aicp settings what it did was turned the data to 2g when the screen was off and it fixed my problem

You should also use programs such as Doze modules in Magisk, Programs that you can download on Playstore such as Servicely and Naptime, which controls unused processes from running in the background. If you are using Pie. You can go into every app and control what runs i the background and what doesn't. You can further control what processes allowed allowed to ru while connecting to WIFI versus Data.

I think none of Magisk modules can help to make 4g standby drain less. For my X722 Im used that standby drain is about 2-2.5 % per hour. I have tried like 10 different roms and it stays the same, including the stock rom. I didnt have such a big drain with Le Max 2 so it's weird. Also I have heard other X722 owners had much less drain (some people even claim that drain is 2-3 % per night on 4g but I dont want to believe it). Maybe that has something to do with specific radio receiver or something which maybe can be different types even on the same phone models. If I want my phone to drain 1-3 % per night, I have to switch to 3g/gsm mode.

I've been using for 1 year Intelli3G module for xposed on my x720 .
You can set these combination : https://lh3.ggpht.com/xSrBFjXUhZ75h7MB5h8ZN3Xq6D1Uc3sutciiBNkU04rPG_BWfnKnZin9YtNYK3Q6wact=w720-h310
phone switches automatically to GSM mode with screen OFF
and to LTE, GSM/WDCMA mode with screen ON.
so you can limit the drain of battery at least a little bit :cyclops:

I9100 in China - Comparison (FW, battery life, carriers, stats, etc.)

Hi there,
I got an SGS2 GT-I9100 recently and I am still trying to tweak it to suit my needs.
I'd like to ask the people living in China about their stats and configuration since it seems many issues are usually location/carrier related.
My biggest problem so far is battery drain. I have noticed that whenever wifi is on, my battery goes down by around 1% every 15 minutes or so with phone in standby. When wifi is off I can lose about 1-2% every hour.
I mean, after seeing lt_ler battery stats even with stock FW, having wifi on (night usage), I think there must be something wrong with my settings or phone.
BetterBatteryStats reports no important wakelocks. CPUSpy reads what it seem to be normal Deep Sleep time.
I think it might have something to do with the wifi router. Mine is the one from China Unicom (中国联通) ZXV10 H108B (v. 2.0.0 BJ).
My phone carrier is China Mobile(中国移动).
I am using Frankenstein KK5 firmware with Siyah 2.4.2. I will be trying uninstalling different apps and then changing kernel, modem or whatever I can think of if it doesn't work.
I also get a high percentage of "Cell standby" battery use in the stock battery usage monitor, reporting "100% time without signal", although I have signal all the time at 4 bars and have no trouble making or receiving calls/sms. I think this wasn't happening before installing Siyah.
So please, people, share your thoughts, stats, settings and ideas. It'll be much appreciated. Also, if some better Chinese reader than me can find some thread/post somewhere about this on some Chinese website, like gfan, please let me know and I'll try and decipher it myself. I just can't find it...
PS: I'll try to add some screenshots later.
hi bro,
im leaving in Suzhou China area and using china mobile service also.
i dont encountered the problem as u describe above.
im running MIUI galnet ICS version with Siyah 2.5.1GT. baseband XXKI4.
on single charge (using extended 2000mah here), can last me up to 2.5-3 days using my previous roaming malaysian SIM card (no data). refer to picture.
using china mobile simcard, yield nearly similar result. again with data-off.
i dont use any special configuration js default conf from MIUI's rom.
have u tried different ROM?
Thanks, mate. I might give MIUI a try, since it is Chinese after all, I just wanted to stay close to stock for now.
Do you use wifi?
no prob !
yeah did use wifi in hotel. but only ON when wanna use. if not i turn it off.
at night also i turned it off.
yeah, u should give MIUI a shot. pretty nice and neat. since used it dont wanna use standard TW's rom anymore. hehe
but prepare to have few disadvantage as below:
1. degrade camera quality
2. no HDMI out, TV out not sure
3. some kernel might give unsmooth experience when watching 1080p video
I'm afraid the problem here has to do with wifi. Because as I said, when turned off at night I get a reasonable performance. But during the day, when it is on because I need to have mail pushed, the battery fades quickly...
I'm in Beijing and have no issues with battery life on China Mobile. I always keep the device on with data, gps, wifi etc. Most of my usage at the hotel is via wifi and when I'm out is on edge. Can generally get 25-30 hours on a single charge. I'm using stock KK5 with siyah kernel v2.4.2 with KL1 modem.
Should close wifi and background data.U can enable them once per 30 min or an hour.Continuous usage on wifi, especially background data can cause u great battery drainage.
For me,if i close wifi and background data,it only drops 1 or 2 percent an hour, but it drops drastically if they are on.Sometimes 20 percent in one hour. It's just a Galaxy S2 issue.Try to flash different roms and kernels to have better battery life.
I am currently in china using china mobile.

A7010 battery drains extremely fast in stand-by

Without touching the phone at all, the battery dropped from 100% to 50% within 24 hours give or take. I tried disabling background apps in the settings yesterday but after 12 hours it's down to 24%. When I look at battery usage, it's 85% CPU, which is odd, since the phone is literally just locked sitting on the table. Wi-Fi is disabled, cellular is disabled. Any idea what may be causing this?

THis may sound insane but you can try.. Factory reset your phone.. Install only necessary apps... Charge your phone between 90-99 don't charge it 100%.. Now check the way you checked last time..
Went through two of those within two weeks, appears to be caused by Marshmallow system update, since the battery was fine when the device was at Lollipop but as soon as the update got installed, it started to drain like crazy. Looked through Lenovo forums, seen multiple complaints about the update causing battery drain, no solution, no system patch so far. Doesn't seem to have a 100% rate of happening though.
Bought a different device in the end.

Will this disable volte?
Hello , All,
This is very common problem with most of the Lenovo OTA update releases. (especially from Build : S219, S230 and S232 .) there will not be any issue if you use any custom roms.
actually CPU deep sleep is not enabled for those builds who consumes more battery.
please flash stable stock builds OR use custom roms, which has more features . (caution: warranty will be gone)
thank you

Anyone who struggle in rapid battery drain when battery drop to 31-30% then after a while its 20%... Any users of k4/a7010..
Refer this Link https://forum.xda-developers.com/k4-note/how-to/lp-lenovo-k4-note-stock-roms-s152-s218-t3466184 for rolling back to Lollipop s152 or Marshmallow s230 (You need to root your device and unlock bootloader though )

Recommendation for battery friendly ROM

Hi all,
I purchased my X720 a couple of weeks ago and am still not settled with a ROM which I'd say I am satisfied with battery performance.
Tried LineageOS and it drew more than 5% idle during my sleep ~7 hours. Then I tried Validus and basically the battery drained after a day with minimum use. In both case I only installed 1 or 2 apps other than the gapps. Maybe I didn't get everything right. I am even considering going back to stock or a debloated version of stock.
I just want to check if anyone can recommend any ROM that draws less then 1% each 2 hours idle (not on flight mode). I don't mind whether it's MM or N as long as the google framework works.
Thanks in advance.
B
Best I've gotten without heavily tweaking and underclocking is 0.6 hr. With some work I got it down to 0.3. still working to improve it. This is on Turbo's Miui Rom v 10A. I got 2 days 18 hrs until it hit 5% battery left. That was with 3hrs 42mins SOT. The Rom has a few issues with setting not sticking on reboot. My watch crashes the rom (Android Wear). Finally the lock screen doesnt work with smartlock. Sure is pretty though.
Another option would be a stock based rom that's debloated.
Any of the nougat roms seem to have relatively high drain like 1.0 / hr was the best I have seen.
Stock still has the best battery life out of all the ROMs available. If you install an app that forces deep doze then you should be able to get much lower idle usage. However, you'll lose a lot of notifications. That's the trade-off...
One that I've used before going back to stock was Naptime: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I guess greenify also has that functionality, but it seemed buggy to me (but it is probably more stable now).
Omni drains 0-2% overnight for me. However, if you're in poor coverage (orange/red) you'll lose more battery regardless. I keep my phone on 2G overnight and data is automatically turned off by force doze.
Also remember that apps can prevent the device from entering deep sleep, so a rogue app could be the cause of your drain. Facebook, Snapchat, etc. Those are battery hogs.

I found best battery stock rom by AIBA (23S and 26S new) in Russia forum its good rom:
https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=783366m click on second topic under recovery and select alba19986
For Nougat I found Ground Zero rom I tried Tipsy battery is pretty good, try few other roms but seems to drain too much for my like.

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Xiaomi Mi 8's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Hi all, i use china rom and i can show you how los is draining when idle( the phone was in my night table) overnight.
I would say there's a 15 -20% drain overnight, I've had my Mi 8 for about a month.
9.5.11.0 Rom

Yeah no problems with drain here either, run xiaomi.eu MIUI 10.
My bootloader is locked. I can't install other roms. My main concern isn't the battery drain however as it charges up so damn fast. I have GPS issues, it's really slow and it constantly gets turned off despite given all permissions for google maps.
3-8% drain over the night
Chinese rom: 9.5.11.0
Hi, I have xiaomi.eu 10.10.18 rom and I have I think serious drain. In GSam it looks like this. Anybody else have that RCS phone app using that much juice?
There's big problem with cell standby brain on this phone!!
yeah, also on xiaomi EU 10.1.2 and got problems with cell standby.... it takes around 21%.....
5-7% overnight on global beta 8.12.20, network mode set to LTE/wcdma and adaptive battery enabled.
Always on display enabled

The cell standby is not a direct reflection of the power drain, it only shows the proportion of battery usage compared to other components. e.g. if you have the screen on for long time, then the cell standby for the same period will be relatively small.
You can check out from my test. My phone can have cell standby of 34%, but the battery only drops less than 2% overnight! I'm on Global Stable v10.1.2.0 through OTA update.
Yes, posting screenshots of your battery usage without mentioning or also posting screen on time is completely useless.
Mobile standby dropped for me with similar or less amount of SOT after switching network mode.
Miui Global 10.1 Stable 10.1.1.0 (PEAMIFI)
Battery lasts more than 3 days with these settings.
If i let wifi on, it drains 15-20% while i sleep.
Preferred network type = 3G
Wifi, bluetooth, gps are off when not in use.
Debloated using MIUI 10 De-bloat (Then i installed Google Phone,Contacts,Messages)
Facebook,youtube,9gag vs.. for these kind of apps, i go to their mobile websites in chrome and use "Add to home screen"
Installed Greenify, i actully dont know if this app makes any difference.
Alot better battery on custom rom
When I was using MIUI 10 Oreo battery was great between 8:30h and 10h SOT then I updated to pie and man what a horrible mistake battery came down to 6:30h 7:30h SOT, now I'm using pixel experience and getting between 8:15 to 9h SOT.
Since Xiaomi isn't responding to the Bug thread on MIUI forums:
https://twitter.com/_Princeps_/status/1082926593331343360
Please retweet this if you have an account so we'll maybe get a fix for all these MI 8 battery issues.
9% drain in 7 hrs by night, 2-day total radio stand-by drain 15%
I get 9% (too much) discharge in 7h by night (wifi and LTE radio on) while I sleep, no display use and most apps shut down, and few wakelocks (0.5% total time). Something's wrong with the radio. I am on LTE/UMTS auto (PRN), 9.1.3 EU, Sphynx kernel. Radio usage is 38%, and Wifi 5%. I get full bars of LTE at 1815MHz band 3 (Net Monster RSSI -59 dBm, RSRP -87dBm). NetGuru reports driver bug and won't start.
When I set Airplane mode or turn off the phone by night discharge is minimal (~3%).
In more than 2 days on battery with intense screen use (14h SOT), total standby-drain is 15% (too much), and display drain is 26%. Wifi and radio was on most of time.
¿What's the conclusion? This phone drains on stand-by. Battery life is good in general, but stand-by should be less than 9% in 7 hours, I'm sorry.
P.D.: I will try Syberia rom, maybe we need updated kernel with better radio drivers...
The conclusion is that the baseband is ****ed.
There's all kinds of weird stuff hapening and it appears that at least one of the issues is that the MI 8 will always follow the MIUI/Android configured network mode instead of the SIM card overriding regional differences.
Lemme copypasta my own post from the MIUI/Xiaomi.eu forums:
My initial tests regarding the Network Mode on the MI 8 are on page 2 of this thread. To narrow this down I ran similar tests on my Redmi Note 4X to find out if other devices handle it better and it does appear to be so.
MIDO battery drain with Network Mode manually set to LTE/WCDMA instead of the MIUI default value of LTE/TD-SCDMA/UMTS was exactly the same.
But the cell signal history wasn't...
Redmi Note 4X, Xiaomi.eu 9.5, 70km Highway drive with Waze and internet music stream running, fixed display brightness. Same route in both tests, just opposite directions - hence me flipping 2nd signal history in the following screenshot:
I then went and checked what would happen if the network mode was manually set to "TD-SCDMA only"
Mi 8 @ global beta 8.12.20 set to "td-scdma only" : NO CONNECTION!! MI 8 just keeps searching for TD-SCDMA cells and doesn't find any.
Could be another hint that our mi8 is reacting adverse to the lte/td-scdma/umts default setting... the SIM card should override this setting.
Redmi Note 4x @ xiaomi.eu stable 9.5.2.0 set to "td-scdma only": no effect, it'll stay on whichever network mode it was set to before. This is good since it means the SIM card is reacting and working correctly and overrides or ignores the wrong configuration
Redmi Note 4x @ xiaomi.eu weekly 9.1.3 set to "td-scdma only": no effect, stays on same mode as before. same behaviour as stable 9.5.2.0

This also means that 2G fallback just doesn't work for me because there's no LTE/WCMDA/GSM setting available. That stuff is kinda hard to troubleshoot but I went to a spot that has very bad 4G reception, no 3G at all, but acceptable 2G.
Went through almost all network modes and the only instances where it'd succesfully fall back to GSM/Edge was when set to GSM only, TD-SCDMA/GSM (useless) or LTE/TD-SCDMA/GSM (also useless because then you get no 3G)
Interestingly, I have analysed the wakelocks by night, and even if they don't add much to battery, some of them seem to be Xiaomi's metric apps that 'report to base' every 2-3 hours and wake-up the phone 133 times more than Whatsapp, Messenger and GooglePlay.....
Oh yeah uninstalling those metrics apps surely helps with standby drain.
Someone posted the short guide a couple weeks ago....had forgot about that:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/help/extremely-battery-drain-miui-10-stable-t3843702/page4
That certainly helped lowering "Android System" drain. They'll stay uninstalled after updates and will only reappear after a factory reset.

Battery Drain while powered off

Running LineageOS 15.1 on x727 phone. The battery drains 50% over 8 hours when the phone has been shutdown. Has anyone experienced this problem. Is this an OS thing or a firmware thing, or something else?
Bro. That's my phone's cancer.
Look. I've tested <almost> any rom out there, Nougat Roms, Oreos Roms, Pie Rom... And I had Battery Drain in deep sleep mode... I lost 15%-30% on overnight.
I though was a Battery issue and its gonna die so, I did a some test.
First, charge your phone (up to 90% its ok) and Turn it off complete. Let it turned off at least 8hrs (overnight for example). Then turn it ON your phone. You should loss ~3% of Battery. That its a good battery signal. If you lose 10%+ your battery is in bad condition. Another signal of Bad Battery is your battery get warm a lot even screen turned off.
What I did? In my case my battery its still good and look like its a system battery drain (yes, in any Rom what I tested, even with grenify, snaptime and other mod like kernel and thermal zip)
Also, my phone do not spend battery while its on screen, the issue its not get into in deep sleep, and that is the problem...
I am using a DotOS 2.4 (Oreo Rom) and I did not flash any Kernel mod. Just magisk+Dolby.
Also installed *DS Battery Saver* and setting in "Agresive Mode" that force to sytem to get into Deep Sleep mode and I choce what app keep alive on "white list"
Before I got -3.5hrs SOT Now I get around 5.5hrs SOT of battery (I use YouTube and Instagram/WhatsApp a lot //Not Facebook and play game, never)
Also I put the phone in Airplane Mode on overnight to avoid innecesary Battery drain.
*Sorry for my English*
Try to install last AICP Pie, switch to 3G instead of 4G ( do it in SETTINGS --> Network & Internet --> Mobile Network ... etc. choose WCDMA preferred, then dial *#*#4636#*#*, tap Phone Information, tap Preferred network type, choose WCDMA preferred ). Works great for me
