Issue in installing Google camera mod - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

I am facing an issue while installing Google camera mod. I am getting a page 'App not installed' when I try to install the mod in my Moto G5 plus. It is running on Oreo and the phone is not rooted. Any advise?

Yeah it won't... Gcam requires 64bit OS... Stock is 32... There's a lot of post around about this probably you should check them...

Did you not read the comments that @himu_joy wrote in two comments above. If you are failing to read this thread, especially when there are only 2 pages then i dont think you should be flashing anything to your phone.

mod should verify this threat for stop misguide to the user's (many say's its not working & stated on wrong section) where there already is a proved and working method located on themes and app section by me.
Not works for moto g3 ....no effect

How to get any camera to work on Moto G5 plus with Oreo AEX?

No matter how many mods I install non of them work...I can't use any camera app, and I keep seeing this popup "Camera stopped" or "Camera opened by other application" what should do?
I have android 8.1 Android Extended
do you think I can use my camera if I install other operating system like Nitrogen os or something like that.

I found no Moto cam mod that's working on Oreo.
It's because of a bug in Titan regarding hal1. You could try one of the countless gcam mods and if you are rooted (best would be magisk) activate the API for 64bit cameras.
Sent from my Moto G5 Plus using XDA Labs
Moto Camera app won't work on any Custom
Shift to RR and give a chance to Gcam or something else
It will surely Work
moto camera works in custom rom with hal1 support and there is zip file for working moto hdr

I've been using moto cam since the first hal1 builds came out with no issues, theres even a version with hdr fixed. However, it doesn't work unless you clean flash if you're coming from hal3 builds.

Just flashed the system.img from Pixel 2 XL (OPM2.171026.006.C1, Jun 2018) to my PH-1

Everything seems to work, with the exception of the camera...I knew that wasn't going to work.
With that said...Is there anyone out there that has not only the knowledge, but the time as well to help to get either Gcam or essential cam working with this image? I've already tried the Gcam ports, none of them work.
Thanks
Getting the gcam to work, would be the true pixel experience.
I'm actually surprised that went as well as it did honestly.

Actually, with your help on the "DIY GCAM Module V2" and the "MGC_2.7.010_MI6_1.3" from the Google camera port from BSG I was able to get an older camera app to work. All of the others from Gcam port crash.
I haven't tried installing any from the playstore.
Edit- I just installed open camera from the playstore with success.

I started with a fresh install of the essential June firmware, flashed system image from Pixel 2 xl June release. After flashing I entered stock recovery and did a wipe. Reboot.
Can't help but wonder if the Android p system image would work
I bet it would.
What exactly did you flash? Just the system image? This is definitely exciting....
i cant get the system image to boot on a clean or dirty flash, and the android p system image flashes and boots but wifi and pixel launcher force close (clean flash as well) and where im on sprint, the activation fails so i have no mobile service...and clues?
I feel like we could be on the verge of something awesome

This is about all the help I can offer. Maybe someone with more experience can help you.
The project treble idea imo is fantastic! I have been running this for about 18 hours now and haven't had any issue.
How awesome would it be to turn this phone into a pixel software wise talk about development and easy modifications
So.e5hing would need done about Sprint activation...for whatever reason, spring dont want to activate using pixel software...trying to find some kind of work around
So has anyone not on sprint tried Android P?

Pixel launcher just continuously force closes...only bug I have seen...and no activation for me
I found a potential bug.
No audio when trying to make a phone call. The call gets placed, just can't hear anything.
I really hope someone gets this working. Would be awesome having a pure pixel rom!

[MAGISK MODULE] Pixel 2 Blurry Panorama Fix

Hey XDA!
Saw the portal post about the pixel 2 blurry panorama fix (that you can read here) so I turned it into a Magisk module to make it easier to apply. Note, I have a Pixel 2 XL, so I only tested this module to make sure that it boots and the camera still works, I did not test whether or not the patch itself works, though it should if there was a portal post about it.
Bugs: Report any issues here and I'll take a look
Instructions:
Open Magisk Manager
From the side menu, select "Downloads"
Scroll or search to find "Pixel 2 Blurry Panorama Fix"
Install
Reboot
Profit!
Github repo: https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo
Original fix post: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/69809329#comment99
EDIT: Attached magisk zip if anyone wants to install manually
I tried to install the module (1.2) and the log says
This device is not walleye! Exiting.

My device is definitely a Pixel 2 though.
Same issue with my rooted, bl unlocked Verizon pixel 2
Works when installing from the attached zip in the op. But not when downloading through the magisk app itself
@OP: Any chance to get it running on ElementalX P2 1.10 with latest security patch? Says it's no Pixel2, but it is as we all know

I updated the device check to be more compatible, which obviously didn't work as expected. Just pushed out an update that checks device based on ro.product.device, ro.build.product, and ro.build.description. This way, if the rom your on is missing a property, it will check the others instead. Sorry about that!
So. Worked.
Thanks so far, but... How to test? ??

Yes. Absolutely.
Bone stock, clean flash of July OPM2 on my Pixel 2 Walleye - Rooted with Magisk 16.0
After installing and rebooting, my camera crashes on launch saying the camera is not available. I remove and reboot, and the camera works fine.
Oddly enough, there was no logs or anything - logicat doesn't even see me launching the camera. The viewfinder in the background behind the error, is completely black.
Is it working on Android Pie, August 2018 security patch? Thinking of rooting just to have this fix. I just can't believe that this is still an issue for the smaller Pixel. :|

Can anyone update this for pie? I have a focus issue at infinite distance with my camera and this fixed it on 8.1 but not on 9.0.
Note: This module will break the camera on Android 10.

Cant install Google Cam on my A1

Hey guys,
I have a problem. I try to install the HDR on my A1. I use this video as a basis.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OozhQNhHqTQ&t=221s
The problem is that my device gets stuck every time TWRP starts and does not reboot by itself. As soon as I restart the phone, a message appears and I end up in the bootloop.
I had version 7.12 on it. Oreo 8.0 is currently installed.
What's the problem?
Would be nice if you could help me out.
Thanks

If you do it by adb tools
You don't need to flash any old version of stock rom
https://youtu.be/mSIWjj-ykh4 go to this link and you can install g cam without any data loss
