Hey XDA!
Saw the portal post about the pixel 2 blurry panorama fix (that you can read here) so I turned it into a Magisk module to make it easier to apply. Note, I have a Pixel 2 XL, so I only tested this module to make sure that it boots and the camera still works, I did not test whether or not the patch itself works, though it should if there was a portal post about it.
Bugs: Report any issues here and I'll take a look
Instructions:
Open Magisk Manager
From the side menu, select "Downloads"
Scroll or search to find "Pixel 2 Blurry Panorama Fix"
Install
Reboot
Profit!
Github repo: https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo
Original fix post: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/69809329#comment99
EDIT: Attached magisk zip if anyone wants to install manually
I tried to install the module (1.2) and the log says
This device is not walleye! Exiting.

My device is definitely a Pixel 2 though.
Same issue with my rooted, bl unlocked Verizon pixel 2
Works when installing from the attached zip in the op. But not when downloading through the magisk app itself
@OP: Any chance to get it running on ElementalX P2 1.10 with latest security patch? Says it's no Pixel2, but it is as we all know

I updated the device check to be more compatible, which obviously didn't work as expected. Just pushed out an update that checks device based on ro.product.device, ro.build.product, and ro.build.description. This way, if the rom your on is missing a property, it will check the others instead. Sorry about that!
So. Worked.
Thanks so far, but... How to test? ??

Take a panorama photo. Does it look terrible?
Yes. Absolutely.
Bone stock, clean flash of July OPM2 on my Pixel 2 Walleye - Rooted with Magisk 16.0
After installing and rebooting, my camera crashes on launch saying the camera is not available. I remove and reboot, and the camera works fine.
Oddly enough, there was no logs or anything - logicat doesn't even see me launching the camera. The viewfinder in the background behind the error, is completely black.
Is it working on Android Pie, August 2018 security patch? Thinking of rooting just to have this fix. I just can't believe that this is still an issue for the smaller Pixel. :|

Can anyone update this for pie? I have a focus issue at infinite distance with my camera and this fixed it on 8.1 but not on 9.0.
Note: This module will break the camera on Android 10.

I am creating this guide for Magisk v13 and working modules. Please let me know if there are additional ROMs that this guide works with, but I am trying to keep the steps as simple as possible.
Magisk Installation Instructions:
Download Latest PureNexus / PA ROM and follow those instructions
Boot into the ROM and go through the initial set up, at this point verify that SafetyNet is passing. If it is not you may need to factory reset and re-install your ROM.
Reboot into TWRP
Flash the attached modified Magisk-v13-Pixel (from Goodwin_c)
Flash the attached verified boot signer (from Chainfire)
Reboot the System
Uninstall the version of Magisk Manager that shows up in the drawer
Install the attached version of MagiskManager_v13_new5.apk (from Goodwin_c)
Open Magisk Manager (you may need to wait a bit, I had to clear it from my recents a few times before it launched and asked for file system permissions)
Go to the app settings and tick on Magisk Hide
Re-run SafetyNet and verify it's passing
Working Modules
I will create a video guide on how to modify modules to work with the Pixel phones until Magisk is fully updated to support Pixel.
Modules I have modified to work with Pixel:
Emoji One - systemlessly replaces emojie font with Emoji One.
Tethering Enabler - enables tethering on phones where it is disabled by the manufacturer/provider.

Is v13 working for you. I tried it when he first released it. Very glitchy. Went back to 12. A few of us did. That and we couldn't restore a backup with TB.

These still looks like the ones @goodwin_c created. If that's the case, then yes, it's very glitchy and you are better off sticking to v12. It is a good starting point though and hopefully he can get an updated v13 working soon!

What rom are you using? The issue I came across that Goodwin confirmed was that root seemed to work, but apps like Titanium Backup didnt work properly. Are you running any apps that require root? And do they seem to perform correctly?
It also looks like he released a v13_new5.apk on his AFH account. Are you still using new1? Just curious if the new5 version might fix any previous issues.

I'll update the post date in brackets when I make updates here. Goodwin_c does not have his own thread, so I've just been monitoring his android file host account. The original poster has not updated or maintained his guide from the RR thread, so I created a new one to be as up-to-date as possible and include modules as I modify them.

I've included both of those. I basically have been using beyond compare to compare the arise module that works with pixel to other modules and re-zipping them and testing with my device.
I see. Thanks.
Btw do you know the difference between v1 and v5 apk?
It seems MagiskHide is gone on v5?
I have tried Magisk-V13 on Pixel-XL with stock ROM.
I haven't tried it with stock kernel, since SafetyNet won't pass (as far as I understand).
Tested with Elemental-X + MagiskManager-v1, SafetyNet does not pass. App always says "cannot use Play service"
Tested with Kirisakura-Rebase-1.36 + MagiskManager-v1, SafetyNet passes.
MagiskManager-v5 does not come with MagiskHide, so I assume it cannot handle SafetyNet.
Both MagiskManager v1 and v5 loads very slowly.
Before the UI could be used normally (it means Magisk is loaded?), ROOT cannot be obtained.
So those boot-up root-required action would probably fail.

Has anyone tried to make AR stickers work with GCam 5 on a OP5? OP3/3T appears to work.
https://www.xda-developers.com/enab...kers-nexus-5x-nexus-6p-oneplus-3-xiaomi-mi-5/
I just tried and got it working! Just follow the steps and you're good to go.
Nice. Thx for testing. Works great for me with GCMod5 5.1.016 on Open Beta 2. Like you said, just followed the OP3 instructions with no edits.
I followed every step but the camera just force closes on me when I select AR.

Got it working! Just followed OP3 instructions.
ROM - Leaked Open Beta 4 (Use Magisk Beta & Bluespark TWRP to root your OP5 device)
Camera - GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.2
I Have tried this guide for OnePlus 3T on my OP 5 and its working absolutely fine for me.
1. rooted and my device
3. flashed Oreo open beta OTA
4. installed modded ARCore, ARStickers app
5. added calibration xml file in /system/etc
6. added ro.config.calibration_cad=/system/etc/calibration_cad.xml with BuildProp Editor
7. Installed modified Google camera apk GCam5_5.1.018
voila!
Hmm good to hear that it works for others , in my case the camera just force closes when I select AR.

Just followed the exact procedure and no reboot!
I'm using it too but i used this Magisk Module: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1C3pylJpeK9bc93L56v1JWrjJNXnNbU06
and just installed the apps. By the way you don't need an extra app to start the activity as stated in the XDA article, it will show up in the GCam or you can make a link to the activity in every decent launcher (Nova...)
Has anyone been able to get the ar stickers sounds to appear in video? If I drop an ar sticker and then press video record, I can hear sounds from the ar sticker, but when I playback the video, I only hear sound from the normal environment.
Everything seems to work, with the exception of the camera...I knew that wasn't going to work.
With that said...Is there anyone out there that has not only the knowledge, but the time as well to help to get either Gcam or essential cam working with this image? I've already tried the Gcam ports, none of them work.
Thanks
Getting the gcam to work, would be the true pixel experience.

It does. I already tried it.
I've updated to 10.5.10 and it looks like there's some very nice updates - particularly working Widevine L1 on an unlocked bootloader - very nice indeed!
The problem is OnePlus have tinkered with Photochrom in this update and it can no longer be used as an Infrared camera directly - it now adds additional information to the main camera.
Some may like this trade-off but personally I think it kinda sucks. It's not broken, I just preferred the old functionality. With that in mind - does anyone have any ideas how we can revert this?
So far I've checked:
- Removing the newer APK and manually reinstalling the older one.
- Confirming that the OnePlus Camera Service version hadn't changed - it hasn't.
- Installing the Google Camera APK via xXx and seeing if that can access the camera (looks like it just crashes out when I try.)
My thoughts:
- Perhaps a kernel change but that sounds unlikely
- Probably a vendor change in which case reverting the libs should suffice.
If I can figure out what's needed to revert this change I'll throw together a Magisk module.

Right, I did get to the bottom of this - looks like a bug with the app. Basically I switched to the selfie cam and then switched back and Photochrom reappeared - woo!
This APK has made zero difference to the functionality of it being changed in 10.5.10 - it no longer shows pure infrared like it did previously.
I've tried the Android 11 Camera app and the one posted above, and neither revert the behaviour of the Photochrome filter to what it was in 10.5.9 (or 10.5.10)

Thanks - I did see your module but there's a problem - I'm basically running 10.5.11 because:
Outside EU the latest version is 10.5.11
Inside EU the latest version is 10.5.10
These are equal versions in terms of the camera functionality so basically any EU user running 10.5.10 is ACTUALLY running the equivalent of 10.5.11 outside of Europe.
In other words - if your module doesn't work for Non-EU 10.5.11 - it wont work for EU 10.5.10 either.
OnePlus are REALLY confusing things with these silly version numbers!!

OnePlus has done it yet again... if I have some time this week I'll look into creating a EU specific 10.5.10 version... no promises. Sorry for the confusion.
I tried to replace the OnePlusCamera.apk to the older version, doesn't work.
I tried to replace these following files from vendor to the older version
Code:
/vendor/lib/camera/*
/vendor/lib/hw/camera.qcom.so
/vendor/lib64/camera/*
/vendor/lib64/hw/camera.qcom.so
but still, doesn't work.
And I can also confirm, the "fake device model" method doesn't work either.
(for IN2020 Chinese model, it fake the device model to other region, so it won't block the photochrom filter, work at EU.10.5.9/INT.10.5.10 for IN2020)
Maybe someone can check the file diff, on those two zip upgrade file, and see what's changed
hope to see fix soon, this new photochrom is like 10% of what it used to be.
BTW, the whole privacy concern is just nonsense, IT CAN'T SEE THROUGH CLOUTHES
Otherwise, you'll be naked every time you see a security cam, coz those things got IR too.
How to delete "/system/priv-app/OnePlusCamera/OneplusCamera.apk"
any root file manager can't delete!
