Is there any way to remove the lg g6 thinQ logo before the boot animation? My phone is rooted and is on ressurection remix. It's annoying to the see that picture splash screen before the boot animation.

Do you have root? If you do it's quite easy to remove the T-Mobile splash screen
(I believe you can unlock the bootloader and root Tmo varient...)

Hmm... Try using bootanimations for superuser from the play store, (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.boot.animations), there is a plus in bottom corner to import your own zips, alternatively you can copy the boot animation.zip to /system/media with chmod 644 I believe.

Interesting, its probably a secondary animation stored somewhere else, lemme check with my friend's VZW g6, try looking around in /system/media for other bootanimation zip files.

Bootanimation_plus.zip is the boot animation for the G6+, it should match the stock one just with a + on the splash screen, and bootanimation_decrypting.zip is the animation it plays when you decrypt your phone (if you encrypted it, if you didn't it is unused) I'm extracting a tmo ROM RN, try replacing all 3 animation zips with the one you want
I used this out of magisk (midnightcore) and it works. There are 2 files now in system /media didn't look before but theoretically it should allow for changing the animation regardless of the module I would think. Just permissions and size etc that could get in the way. But that stuff isn't stuff I've dove into. But, if you're the type to build them I think it's doable. Flash that module, run it, and see what it puts in there. I believe it backs up the stock like you would if done manually. Can't see it being so much more than changing the picture size (the ones I've used aren't optimized for or screens that I've noticed) or replacing the pictures all together.

That midnight deal starting acting weird for me too after it was updated this morning. I tried changing to the superhero deal and it gave me issues also.
Edit: give it another try, I just did after making the above comment and it worked.
Something to think about. While I was looking around my files in the phone I noticed that if I had saved the animation zip when asked that it did. Because I'm thinking if the script will download but seems to have an issue applying the animation if we couldn't just take the zip from where midnight downloads it to and manually place it. Don't see why not. Script is only automating the process

ok, so o just tried the midnight after update with clean install but no luck even if i manaully replace it it won't show the animation. I think it's built in boot image because even if i delete all the bootanimation zips from /system/media folder the TIM logo still F##king shows. ?

Hi guys, I bought a 'bricked' phone on eBay, thinking it would be easy to fix it. Apparently not. I read the 'If you think your HTC Glacier is bricked' thread already. I have no idea of the history of the phone. I took it apart, and it has no water damage. The phone boots into hboot OK and is S-ON. I put the PD15IMG.zip on the SD card. However, the bootloader isn't showing the message that it is looking for this file. I've flashed the same PD15IMG.zip on another phone, so I know what I'm doing and the zip isn't corrupt. I'm not sure what SIMLOCK is supposed to do, but it shows 'SD init fail !!!' when I try it. So I was thinking that maybe the SD card reader was bad. I swapped it out with another working SD card reader from a working phone. Same problem still. I also tried factory reset, but the phone freezes at the white MyTouch 4g screen when it reboots. So maybe the motherboard is bad?
Can anyone think of anything else to try before I use this thing for parts? Thanks.
Hmm.. Somehow I got it to recognize the PD15IMG.zip. I think I plugged the USB cable into my laptop, pulled the battery, then disconnected the USB cable, then replaced the battery, and when it booted it found the file this time. I'm flashing it now. Wish me luck.
UPDATE: After flashing PD15IMG.zip, it's still locking up on the white MyTouch4G screen. Here is the output of the update:

also try flashing the 2.3.4 version, since from what i see, you flashed the 2.2.1 one correct?
How long are you giving it? A first time boot on sense can take 10 minutes.

Yeah, I flashed the 2.2.1 image I believe. Tried it 3 times now. Still sticks on the MyTouch4G white screen. I've waited 10-15 minutes before giving up.
I just flashed 2.3.4. Same problem. Here is a shot of the phone just prior to the reboot:
FYI, the Android 2.3.4 PD15IMG.zip in your post here doesn't pass the Image check when trying to flash. It is size 306,558 KB. I instead used the one from this post here, which is 322,694 KB and passes the check + flashes.
Any other ideas? Am I bricked?
Happy New Year everyone!

Hmm, is it still under warranty? Sounds like it might need replaced. . . That's really strange that a PD15IMG.ZIP successfully flashes (according to the bootloader), but refuses to reboot properly. The only thing I can suggest is to try a few more times, then call T-mobile.
EDIT: Nevermind. You bought it on ebay. Hmm. Paperweight?

You could try manually flashing new hboot as it could be that that is corrupted and it believes its flashing it correctly when in reality it's corrupting the partitions try going to the "flashing the eng h-boot" thread in dev section and I believe there is the stock hboot, try flashing that through ADB, I would hope if you're smart enough to disassemble and switch hardware parts you'd be familiar with adb/fastboot commands but let me know if you need help this could be as simple as that although it could be the eMMC but you would usually get the fail PU error which is when the partition update fails (PU). Good luck and let me know!

It's highly unlikely that you phone doesn't have a stock boot logo. That image inside the bootloader and seldom modified. You probably mean the splash screen or possibly the boot animation. There are mulriple stock versions of borh and you gave no details or description of which one you are seeking.
Then there is the way that you asked for this. Complaining that it's not enough to provide it, but it has to be packaged just so, so that you don't need to click more than once or twice to install it. Why is it better that we waste our time accommodating you, than you spending your more valuable time reading a thread to learn how to install the file?
Perhaps someone else will spoon feed you. I'm going to go help someone more reasonable.

There are a lot of people here that go out of their way to help people. All we ask for is some details, so that we can effectively help you. How you expect us to help you if you don't describe your situation is beyond me. And speaking for myself, I'd rather help people that attempted to solve their issue or at least tried a search and have a reasonable attitude.
About your "boot logo".. I'm still confused about what you want. You mentioned "powered by android" but it wasn't clear if that was a reference to the initial screen after boot or custom text that you added to one of the other boot screens.
A stock boot sees an initial black screen with white text of the model number and powered by android moniker. Followed by an optional, carrier dependent splash screen. Then a boot animation. Both Google and XDA have abundant images of each. Can you post an image or at least describe better what you are looking for?

That is what you want? Then you really do want the boot logo, although you described it poorly. That is very unusual, it's an image seldom changed.
This is a jpg image inside the bootloader. And since you pleaded for the easy way out, you really want the stock bootloader, not the image per se.
The best way for you to obtain this is to download the stock firmware and get it from there. Here's why: if someone sends you the wrong file you are at high risk of bricking your phone. If you think taking the easy way out is worth that risk.. well, carry on.
But first you will have to specify what bootloader version you need. A random version would be all but certain to (flip a coin) fail to flash or brick your phone.

ive had the G900P for just shy of 3 years and changing the splash screen has led to a dead end every time ive tried. i think its a lost cause as the image is in the tar.md5 and modifying that can lead to a permabricked device if you flash a corrupted file
best suggestion grab four files flash 4.4.2 and the pit also and flash through odin
So I bougjt an LG G2 (international - D802) and I f***ed it up a bit.... Sadly it can not be fixed for some reason. So is there something I need to know? I just really want my g2 to work again..... It has been broken for about 3 months now....
Please help, because I don't want to break another g2
That isn't so nice that you couldnt use it for 3 months. I dont know what you should watch on since so far as i know only that there are 2 display variants lgd/jdi but there isnt an different digitizer on the phone so far as i know. The only thing that would be maybe is that the verizon logo is missing on the front if the original had one. To be sure that there aren't differences google about it and google the displays and see if you can see a difference on the display's. With that i mean differences with the cables, the parts on the digitizer/display and the pcb(greenish thing most time where the parts are on. I can't really find it out for you since i need to sleep now because its 3:02 AM, I hope that i helped you and that you can fix your problem. If i will remember it then i will make an research on it and i will post it here if you couldnt find if its possible or not. ?

Compare the 2 Pictures you can also magnify it, the only difference i saw was in the small cable up in the pictures so far as i know that part is for the touchscreen to control the above half i believe. So the only difference between these 2 are the touchscreen i think, you can open and try it but i don't think it will work. @FritsPikee try these things to get out of fastboot mode:
The first one which is also suggested by me post #132:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2680150&page=14
Btw, Download the stock img files from here if you have d802: http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/D802/Stock_Firmware
Just execute all those things but i think that you can use TWRP instead of the original recovery or some other kind of recovery But i am not sure
so do that recovery thing at your own risk :/
or if that doesn't work try this one but its not really well explained.: see fix 4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694530
If you have some other fastboot mode problem then reply again to this thread or add me on Facebook:Wulsic then i can also help you maybe with it.

Sorry for the late reaction, but this is what happend;
I wanted to backup my whole system just in case something would go wrong. So I installed cwm and when I booted my phone in recovery mode it was giving me a 'secure boot error'. But I accidently made a backup with the cwm error (I thought it was still the original recovery but it wasn't) then iI installed twrp 2.7 for lg g2 and that worked just great =). I made my backup. But then there was an software update from android (not google play) so I clicked on the 'install update notification' and my phone turned of and back on. but it booted in twrp instead of the original recovery (duh!) I looked it up on internet and found a command line I had to fill in in the twrp menu (something with 'dd if=/' etc). that fixed the problem but still the update wasn't installed. So I installed my old recovery back (the backup I made but what wasn't the original recovery. I installed the cwm 'secure boot error" recovery back). After I click again on the 'install update notification' my phone went in a bootloop with the 'secure boot error'
then I followed the Instructions in this tread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 And I got it out of the secure boot error thingy, but than it got in the fastboot boot loop =( And that's the whole story ...
i hope you can go something with it! Again, sorry for the late reaction!
You mean lg logo then fastboot? If so then the kernel isnt good. And you gotta replace it :/

Yeah, first the logo and then fastboot, and i tried this tread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595
But it didn't worked =( (btw I live in the netherlands to!!)
@FritsPikee ahh okay, maybe its easier if we talk with facebook or something like that my facebook is facebook.com/wulsic1, skype hangouts etc is just wulsic because facebook got bugged when i changed my username.
Because if i will talk dutch to you then it is easier and english is the language you must speak here at xda so yeah. Do you still have custom recovery or is that also gone?

I've send you an skype request! But I need to go now, so I'll be back in about 2 hours
@FritsPikee alright i will try to help you then if i dont have to eat then.
Good morning again.
After my recent post about my cellphone as half-dead, I'm looking for rescue the information on the Internal Storage (We are talking of almost 3.5 GB of personal information). I know what ANY custom recovery can help me with this mission...
But after almost 4 hours trying with no success, I don't know what to do. :crying:
Step 1: Plug USB cable
Step 2: Vol+ Vol- and Power Button
Step 3: Select AP Fastboot
Step 4: On cmd write fastboot flash recovery "name of recovery here with .img"
On this step, I ALWAYS got this:
(bootloader) Variable not supported!
target max-download-size: 30MBStep 5: On cmd write fastboot reboot
Step 6: As fast as you can, press Vol+ for enter to the recovery
Alright. That's the process what everyone's using, right? Well, it isn't working for me, as I got always to the same recovery :s
Android system recovery <3e>
KDA20.62-10.1
What can I do? I used even the guide of ATTACK [GUIDE][FAQ][KK] How to Root, Boot Unlock & More
With no success...
I have Stock KK 4.4.2 what ends in .15 and Unlocked Fastboot
What recovery file are you trying to flash? Also, are you using the Moto fastboot? I believe this issue happens if you are using normal fastboot. Mfastboot is downloadable from that thread you linked

Uhm... I downloaded the mfastboot file what the guide had...
Download Mfastboot [MIRROR] - Refer to Mfastboot setup

I just unzip it on a empty folder (C:\Motorola RAZR M XT907\MFastboot in this case) and used mfastboot what he says on the guide.
I'm trying to flash any of these 3 recoveries:
TWRP-2.8.2.0-RAZR_M_KKBL.img
TWRP2710-RAZR_M-KITKAT.img
CWM6049-RAZR-HD_M-KITKAT.img

You never stated that you couldn't boot to the OS in the OP.
After reading your other post, I believe you have a bad eMMC(?) and your device may be stuck in R/O. If that is the case your phone is non-recoverable. Your only option is to 'try' and restore via RSD or similar - but its unlikely to fix the issue.

Well sorry...
I don't know how I got the cellphone to work... and then I made a mistake and well :/
After use HouseOfMoto, my cellphone finally got out of the bootanimation, but constantly ending com.android.phone
I got the idea of put the cellphone on Airplane mode. The cellphone is again on the same problem :crying:
Do you know how it worked the first time? And if that is a sign of life?

Did you perform a FULL install on House of Moto? What FXZ did you use? Maybe try redownloading or confirm hashes to make sure there just wasn't an issue with the FXZ.

Uhm... What do you mean with FULL install? Remember what I'm trying to recover some folders if it's possible. Stock recovery, and I'm using VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml.zip and believe me: The only available download site lasts downloading 6 hours. It's A LOT of time.

You never noted that you wanted to recover things. I'd deal with the phone app force quitting and copy things to your computer via the USB. After you get everything you need, try a full wipe. If you don't want to do a re-download of the firmware, at least verify the hashes. A good tool for this is "Hash My Files." Make sure it matches what the website says it should be. If it doesn't, you will have to redownload.

It's the 2nd comment about that issue. I'm going to need to re-post what I said in my previous post, instead of say "following what I said on my previous post..."

Uhm... Good afternoon.
I really don't know what happened to my XT907. I was playing Castle Clash, and then, suddenly...
- Smart Launcher Pro stopped
- GApps stopped
- Messenger stopped
- Amazon MP3 stopped
- WhatsApp stopped
And 4 or 5 more apps stopped. I nned to say what I wasn't using any of that apps but Smart Launcher Pro and WhatsApp.
So I selected the common Power Button... Power Off... Then I used the common Power Button for Turn On my XT907...
Stuck on the boot animation. It makes the sounds as receiving WhatsApp messages and that, but it's eternally on the boot animation (it isn't a bootloop)
What to do in this case?
(I need to add something else: I used the volume up button and every time I use it, the cellphone vibrates)

I never wanted to say this but... you're right.
After trying to flash with RSDflasher, HouseOfMoto and RSDLite... I reached nothing. Now, I really don't care now for DCIM and that, I just want to get my cellphone again alive :crying:
I was on untouched april stock, i used gcam enabling camera2api via this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/tool-google-camera-root-magisk-enable-t3747585
I rooted yesterday for the first time to use titanium backup for backing up my apps (i like backing up with both twrp and tb just to on the safer side) as i was about to try a custom rom, after rooting i remeber there was a linux splash screen before the mi logo. After using the custom rom for a few hours i downloaded the fastboot april stock via this link http://bigota.d.miui.com/V.9.5.10.0.ODHMIFA/tissot_images_V.9.5.10.0.ODHMIFA_20180405.0000.00_8.0_b9e697ed56.tgz
flashed the rom via miflash, everything was normal as earlier, then i noticed some "Caping" app on my phone after installing nova launcher, this app was never present on my my previous rom, i uninstalled and ignored it. After that i installed magisk, my apps and went on to enable camera2api with that same tool that i used earlier. Now on each reboot i see a bootloader warning instead of that linux mascot which used to be on my previous stock, also there's a noticable lag (3-5 sec green screen) in opening gcam which wasn't the case earlier. This makes me think that there's something different about this fastboot rom, can anyone explain me this?
Linux mascot on stock? Really? Never seen that. You must have had some weird reseller firmware on there first.
No, no region difference ROM's.

yup, i thought everyone would be seeing the same so i didn't bothered clicking a pic of that bootup, the mascot was exactly like the pic i atached, but a LOT smaller with entirely dark background. Also i am from india and i bought it via official sale, so i doubt "weird reseller" case can be applied here.

UPDATE: i still havent found the mystery behind that linux mascot, but the gcam lag was fixed with locked bootloader. Probably magisk and unlocked bootloader was causing that. Hope it helps someone

The tux logo shows because your `splash.img` got cleared. I've attached the stock `splash.img` here, you just need to run `fastboot flash splash splash.img` in Fastboot mode.

finally someone with who gets to the topic, there's 3 screens that comes up when an unlocked device boots up,
1. the bootloader warning screen (which was where i got that linux mascot)
2. the actual splash screen, with that mi logo below, (this was always there, with/without linux mascot)
3. boot animation, (of no use here)
so you mean that the 1st thing, the bootloader warning splash screen got cleared, am i right? as both the mi logo (actual splash screen) and the bootanimation were the same.
IjazCI said:
Hey there the Capping app is because you flashed the userdata image while flashing through Mi Flash tool. You can just uninstall that.
After my first bootloader unlock i too had that cute linux mascot. Its gone after next fastboot unlock.

Yup. The bootanimation (excluding the Mi logo) is loaded by Android from the boot animation file in `/system/media`.
IjazCI said:
The camera lag is introduced by root itself. As a workaround you can use Magisk module from this thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/themes/module-long-camera-start-fix-mi-a1-t3745262/page2
Unlike other modules this keeps Selinux status as enforcing and it's from a respectable dev.

I'm not sure, for me it was probably because of me accidentally flashing wrong images.
