Has anyone figured out how to change the mac address for this phone? I can successfully change the mac address through the terminal but after I get it changed I cannot for the life of me get my wifi to connect to anything after.

Has anyone been able to change their WiFi MAC using any ROM/kernel/script/tweak? I know it's possible and I know how to do it via busybox "ip" commands. After I remove all associated AP's, bring down eth0, change eth0's hwaddr, confirm the change with "ip show eth0" and try to reassociate with a WPA/WEP it will not connect and logs show it fails to connect after "authorizing." I have a feeling that there needs to be a change in the wpa_supplicant conf file or in one of the init scripts to fix the issue but I have not been successful.
If any devs can point me in the right direction that would be awesome. I know I could make a simple script to change it if I knew why it won't authorize. Many access points require 00:XX as the beginning of a WiFi MAC or the device gets rejected due to a spoof attack on several routers. Thanks!

Look here http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...nge-permanent-mac-address-on-my-android-phone, you need to have root. Haven`t done this myself though. Good luck.
Please, tell us if you get WiFi working with a different MAC address.
I tried and I wasn't able to auth.
You can change your nexus 4 MAC address with a rooted device and the app called MAC Spoofer (root) (you can find it at google play)

To my work, I can access to the WIFI by giving my MAC address. I gave my MAC address, and ok, I had access.
However, I flashed the rom CloudyG3 and following this, no access to WIFI... I've realized that my MAC address had changed (and I saw I 'wasn't alone in this case) ... So I did a new request for an access with the new MAC address, and it doesn't work ...

I know it's possible and I've tried several apps including 'MacChanger'.
If I change it and view my mac address, it's changed.
If I connect, it says 'Connecting...' for a long time and stops after a while, resets the mac address back to it's default and successfully connects.
Yes the MAC Address is in the right format.
I rooted my phone (Huawei Y550) manually with SuperSU and busybox installed.
Using ifconfig command on the wlan0 interface it doesn't change at all,
and I guess MacChanger uses the method that edits the file containing the MAC Address, which it shows the new mac address, but changes it to the default after connecting.
Any advice?
