I dont want to root my device s8, but I want note 8 camera application as its better in some features I think.
Mainly the light increase option just before taking photo is available in note 8 but not in s8.
I tried some playstore camera apps but not satisfied.

Hi guys, I took some photos on auto mode (without flash) on both Max 1 and Max 2.I feel that the rear camera on Max 2 is clearly better but still a step below Mi 5S and Mi 6.

thks for the photos
Thanks for the quick comparison.
I have a Mi Max 2, didn't have a Mi Max before but I'm glad the pictures are better.
thank you
Thanku
Can you upload a full size low light and a full size normal picture please?
I am still disappointed with the camera quality in Mi Max 2. Given the IMX386 sensor, macros should have been a lot better
Give this app a try, photo quality seem to be better than stock camera app, at least for me. https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-updated-zero-shutter-lag-xiaomi/

Hi everyone, it is possible to shot hdr+ photos on Moto G5 Plus?
I don't think the ISP on the 625 chip can handle HDR+. You could try to look into the mod made for the Nexus 5X, but it uses the 808 chip. Probably the best place to start.

Well of course not, that mod is designed for the Nexus 5X. I was saying that the mod may give you an idea of how to do it for the G5 Plus, but obviously that mod wouldn't work for our phone.
Yes, it is possible with custom ROM.
Aug. 11 Google Camera with HDR+ https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-ported/
The APP CANNOT work on Moto G5 Plus with stock ROM, but runs well on foollowing devices:
ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) Snapdragon 625 + IMX 362 (same as Moto G5 Plus)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon 625 + LineageOS 14.1 or Resurrection Remix OS or AOSP
Please share the HDR+ photo comparission if you succeed.

Amazon versions of the G5 Plus can apparently be rooted but they have to be on the initial firmware. Apparently updating the stock firmware to NPNS25.137-35-5 or above potentially breaks the ability to root. When I checked the code camera 2 had some simulation convergence which required focus and auto Exposure to converge at the same time I think the ae thread holds up the process so focus works sometimes other times it's out of :fingers-crossed focus
The workaround was to modify the gcam code and break the AF trigger and set the focus to off this mode allows us Moto g5 users to lock focus at driver level at a specific distances i mostly shoot landscapes sometimes macro so I have a zaf config file to 1000cm settable distances are 7cm 10 14 20 30 40 50 60 120 hyperfocal 1000cm to switch files/config can be done via scripts it's quick I personally don't find it as a big deal as we gain hdr+ .
Also have a modified driver for low light that and paired with hdr+ low light is pretty darn good imo with modified lib not even the pixel could keep up.
Also about 64bit being required this apk is not from 4pda and is modified from the last 32bit gcam

Is this only for stock ROM or should also work on custom ROMs? Someone above mentioned that it crashes on LOS.
Saying "modified driver for low light", you mean your noise reduction/sharpening mod?
Thanks in advance for reply and for your work on camera app.

I tested on redmi note 3 snap and it worked to take normal pictures, record videos.
But no beautiful mode, HDR did not work truly, no slow motion... A lot of other modes of MIUI camera.
I think these bugs will be fixed on the next version.
We always hope the MIUI camera working on stock Androids, now it is true.

Is it better than the ported google camera??

Hello guys,
Is there a good working google camera pixel 2 apk for my new moto g6 plus?
The stock moto camera is not bad af all and i am happy with its pictures, both in day light and also in low light conditions. But a better camera app is always nice to have , so who knows more about this?
hello, to complete your question, I also find that the opening f1.8 is under exploit. we would have a great camera with the pro settings identical to the Huawei P10 or LG g5 / g6 for long exposure night shooting. 30 seconds to f1.8 for shooting milky way.
Possibility to change the original apk for unbridled aperture at 30s instead of 1/4s ?
Moto g6 plus

The focal length f 1.7 simply captures more light. it is mechanical, to improve the photo performance should be able to get the free settings as a Huawei P10 or LG. fvcamera for example does not liberate the capabilities of the camera. it really should be able to get a mod, like what was done on the Xiaomi Redmi note 4 on XDA
Where did You find this and who did make the mod and apk?

Thanks very much for your link:good:. Can I trust the maker of it and is no virus in it? Do you know who modded this app?
How old is this app (maby updates needed) and is your smartphone also a g6 plus or a g6?
I gone test this app in low light and in daylight. What is in your opinion better with this app vs the (also very good) stock moto 2 app?
I
Picture failled.

Here some pics in very low light. The stock moto cam is much better vs the google camera from your download.
@Theike
how do you do to install gcam? on my moto g6 I have at the end of the installation an exclamation mark and the application message not install
On a g6 this doesn t work. Only at a 6 plus.
Ok thank
probably does not support Snapdragon 450 without mod

I did many tests between the gCam from your link and I do prefer the stock moto camera app more. Stock app is much better in low light and also gcam app pics in daylight are the same quelity or they are not as sharp and collorfull vs stock moto camera with hdr mode.
So , I am still searching for a top Pixel 2 app for the moto g6 plus.
I think the reason the gcam ports won't install on the g6 is because it's a 32bit ROM and gcam needs 64bit ROM to work as well as sd 450 support. It does support 64bit ROMs someone just has to build one and you would have to root.
Hello,
Any developer can make long exposure module like 94 seconds in max pro m1 for our devices?
The 1/4 max. Exposure is decreasing camera value of our phone despite of having one of the best sony imx 486 sensors....

Because I think asus has to add the libs for that
The only missing feature. I hope Asus Dev will add this long exposure up to 32s on their upcoming Android 10 for Max Pro M2. If that happen, I will not upgrade to a higher phone probably SD730 or the upcoming SD865.

Also 1080p60fps. This phone is lock of capability to record 60fps video.

Need to edit imx486 libraries (by hex coding) to enable 32sec long exposure....and for slow motion that is softwere limitation due to stock android(by ****ty asus)
