[D803] Does doing a factory reset remove root? (applied via IORoot22)

As per thread title, I was wondering if performing a factory reset removes root? I do not yet have a custom recovery, and the local stock KitKat OTA update is going out soon. I was considering holding off on the custom recovery and taking the OTA update, but my understanding is that doing so rooted will cause problems so I'm not about to try.
Basically, just how "reset" is the "factory reset" - and do the factory reset options in the Settings>Backup and Reset do the same thing as the Factory Reset from Power+VolDown boot?
root stays
Um, I'm pretty sure you lose root.
Your phone gets reset to factory default, which is no root...
And yes, it's the same as doing it from stock recovery or from the settings

Data partition damaged loop

Hi Guys,
Yesterday i wanted to enable my company email in my Samsung S4 at&t (SGH-I337) mobile. It said, it has to encrypt the mobile to enable email.
I said "Yes", for that. Then after the reboot it said it failed to encrypt the device, and asked me to reset the phone. After i reset the phone it started asking for encryption password... Even if i give the correct password it was not accepting the password. After "Nine" attempts, it said it is going to erase the phone to factor defaults, and rebooted the phone. After the reboot it is still asking for the password, but the moment i enter the password it will reboot.
Finally i decided to write the stock ROM using the odin. Then i downloaded "AP_I337UCUEMK2_1921628_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" from the web. After few attempts i was able to write this ROM on the flash.... but when i try to boot this it says "Device memory damaged" + "The data partition has been corrupted. You need to reset your device to factory defaults....".. I tried to format the data partition from recovery multiple times, but it is of no help.
Anybody has any idea on why the device thinks the data partition is corrupted?
I know nothing about how to solve encryption issues. I'm not sure why you have the data partition issue, but I have a guess. You didn't say what version of the OS you were on before you tried to flash the MK2 stock firmware, but if you were on a later version and later bootloader, then you may have a bootloader incompatibility. If your phone was already on 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 or 5.0.1, then you couldn't go back to MK2. I think you should flash stock NB1 and see if that solves the problem. You can get everything you need here.

Didn't have the login passwords anymore

Hello,
I bought a SM-G935F S7 edge. Unfortunately I have not a google account password from the seller.
If I start the phone, it say's that there was a unauthorized try to reset the phone back to factory reset.
I have googled out, that this is not FRP? How can I fix it? Installing a new STOCK or Custom ROM after unlocking bvootloader and rooting it?
Any tipps are welcome!
Kind Regards,

I'm on touchwiz custom nougat rom, rooted installed twrp and everything. I have touchID enabled, pattern set and all of that. My question is,what will happen if boot into the recovery, wipe data, cache, dalvik and install some other rom.. what will happen on firs booting, does twrp let you to wipe the data,or it asks for some password authentication or something,or it let's you wipe the device.. And when the phone boots (if twrp let's you to wipe everything),on the first boot, does it asks for touchID,some passwords or something? And what is the safest thing to do if i want to sell my phone, how to properly remove all the protections so it can be used normaly after that ?

1- it is not recommended to flash a rom from another cook without a full wipe ( backup ur Sh*t first )
2- if u do, the touch id or pass will stay as it is, the system will boot and ask u for it, but u may have too many FCs or even not boot
3- twrp will not ask u anything ( u tell twrp what to do )
4- the safest way is to encrypt ur device and do a factory reset

Factory Reset Question

Will a factory reset restore the firmware that was originally on the device or will it just wipe your data? I am currently on 5.3.2.1 and I believe it was on a rootable firmware before (I honestly don't remember which one).
