Huawei P8 Lite : a mid-range phone that can't compete with the two other.
LG G4 : Very poor battery life and development (I bought it in January 2017 and sold it after 4 months).
Note 3 without hesitation (if it is in good condition).

I love the Nexus series because they have a lot of custom ROMs.
note 3 n9005 is best in note 3?
note 3 n9005 Prepared in 2013 or another year?

Note 3 was produced in September 2013 in many variants but equipped with two major SoCs : Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and Exynos 5420 (search & read about it).
I recommend the Qualcomm variants, especially the N9005. And watch out for refurbished devices coming from Vietnam, China... Go to "Download Mode" of the device to find the reel model.

its correct the n9005 use Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 then we have fast charging vs Exynos 5420 dont have?

I still own an original Note 3 (N9005) as my daily phone, and have bought a second one recently, to play around with.
It took some time before I started to play with it, and noticed directly that the SD card slot was not working. Tried several options, no luck.
Bought via a Chinese website a mainboard, which solved the problem.
Then I used TWRP, Android 14.1 and later Android 15.1, but again no luck. After the installation, the phone responded as if there was a flip-cover installed. Dark screen with an empty blue tile in it. After installing a new power plug connector with the defective Hall sensor, the phone finally works. Android 8.1.
Regreds? NO! Because the phone is great. Perfect size, good enough screen and removable battery. But make sure everything is working after you have bought one.

Yes..if u no photography maniac and gaming enthusiast
Im still using note 3
With custom roms and lots of battery still selling in the market..wo why not im stay with it..
Im still getting beautiful super amoled display..super nice 5.7 screen where is not too big and not small either and its perfectly suit my needs
Web browsing is breeze smooth
I can control my aircond, tv and etc
Gps signal.also no issue at all
Note 3 is still king

I'd wait for the note 4, especially if you use s pen a lot.
Even I’m a Indian user and using the exonys N9000 International version since long. Its true that exonys one has little heating issues and very slight performance difference than Snapdragon but like Snapdragon the exonys one is equal powerful I think. Worldwide people using the international model N9000, Not only Indian.
I could go for N9005 Snapdragon version over ebay easily but to stick with the warranty, regional updates etc I didn’t look for it.
About the heating issue, I use a leather flip cover and unless when its charging and excessive Wifi Theater I never ever feel any heat.
For me its not only the processor the phone itself is incomparable to any any other phone in the market right now. Its software is great, the spen is exceptional, I would never leave this phone unless something better that that, of course that would be Note 4.

Welcome! No I never rooted and don’t want to do ever due to warranty and other reason, unless its extremely required. Improper rooting drains the device. Many user facing issues due to this as far as I know.. The stock phone itself has all best features require for a business phone. Try to avoid aftermarket apps as less as possible and it will perform awesome. For me it work 50% like a PC for work when I’m on the go.
Note 4 will definitely be way to better than Note 3, like the difference between Note 2 and 3. But for me Note 3 has everything I need for my work support and others. I really appreciate this device.

I swapped mine for an Nexus 5 then moved to the HTC M8. NO regrets at all. - The Note 3 is a beast of a device, whether you want to sell it or not only you can decide. Weigh up the PROS and CONS of selling it on or keeping it. Then decide what to do. No one can make that decision for you I'm afraid

i have decided to wait for few months..:victory::victory:

Should I get the Note 3 or wait for the Note 4?

I'm in Canada, and unfortunately my carrier won't be carrying the Note 4, but, they do have the GS5.
I was planning on selling the GS5 for $600-$650 after market and getting a brand new sealed aftermarket Note 3 for $550.
The Note 4 is surely going to be $750 or $700 after market, and isn't coming for a month or two in Canada.
Is the wait and $ really worth it, or is the N3 good enough to run for the next year or two?
For the price difference i would wait for note 4.
The Note 3 will last at least another year in terms of being high-end. Two depends on when they come with 64bit and S810. (probably Note 5.)
The Snapdragon 805 isn't really an improvement, since the N4 also has 3GB RAM.
The only real improvements are the 2k resolution (over 1080p on N3), the Cat6 LTE radio (won't matter of your provider limits the speed) and it'll get newer android versions.
The Note 3 is the best option in terms of hardware/price. The Note 4 is newer.
It's nowhere near the big improvement the Note 3 was over the Note 2.
The difference between the N3 and N4 is very, very small.
My advice? Get the Note 3 for the next year, and wait for the Note 5.

Note 3 is my advice
You can get the Note 3 at a good price now, and sure you'll have almost all the new software features from the Note 4 once it cames out. As mentioned before changes arent a lot on HW. 64 bit processors are just beggining its road in mobile phones and you wont see applications that take much advantage of this new architecture. And also remember, Sammy comes with a new device echa 6 months so you wont have to wait for so long :silly:

Nope, never...
Samsung is worse than apple when it comes to moving features down the pipeline.
Did my note get the features of the S3/Note2 or the UI? Nope
Did my note 2 get the features or the UI of S4/Note3? Nope
Would my current note 3 get the features or the UI of the S5/Note4? Do i even need to answer that?
The best we will get is the minimal UI changes strongly associated with their Android L review when we get the update 6 months later from the Note 4 ( again just BS )
and just a bump in Android version with no real features added to us, sometimes i wonder why do i keep buying phones from samsung...

I agree with you for those who do not want to root and install custom roms.
Otherwise the Note 3 is a great piece of hardware. Just take a look at the development section to see that there are dozens of roms to choose. It is easy to keep it up to date with Android new versions.
Actually, all my other Samsung phones, including the original Galaxy Note, are running Android 4.4.4. All you have to do is get rid of Samsung stock roms.

OnePlus One. I'm rooting for it.
Note 3 compared to OPO is like night and day....I converted most of my Note 3 friends to get the OPO and they never looked back. Only thing I miss is the AMOLED screen, and that's all. It's been sitting in my drawer fully rooted, custom ROM'd, custom kernel'd, recovery and all 0x0, every Note 3 user's dream, currently locked up in a box with 0% battery since I don't use it as a daily driver anymore - It's that good.
AOSP development on the OPO is Legendary and CM is backing every firmware update released with newer and better features. Camera is far more superior and no infamous Samsung camera focus lag time.
Try the OPO. It's called the 2014 Flagship Killer for a reason, and the price being so low, might as well get 2 OPOs instead of 1 N3.

The lady knows what's she's talking about ?
@op: you asked on the Note 3 forum, so most people will say their phone is still a beast and other phones are not worth it. If money isn't an issue, absolutely go for the note 4. It's the newer device, it's more future proof, there is absolutely no logical argument not to get it in favor of the note 3 (except finances, like I said).

The note 3 is the first phone I've ever owned that I don't feel like upgrading for a newer model. To date I have aways bought a new phone every year regardless. But if you have the money the note 4 looks really nice with the new screen and better build quality. The thing with the note series is that the phone will remain current for 2 years or so after release.

Going to buy note 4... need help

Hi All, i m going to buy note 4 tomorrow. i want to know that whether it has battery drain issues in lollipop. as battery is my first priority in mobile phone. i previously has note 3 but After lollipop update i drains terribly fast even on standby so i had to sell it... whats situation with note 4?? and how is the sound quality of note 4?? thanksssss
get a 910u taiwan version. least problematic.
Ok if you are going to buy Note 4 don't update to Lollipop now, it is full with bugs and Samsung even doesn't care about solving Note 4 issues.
I just got Note 4 few days back & I feel sorry that I update to Lollipop
Wait for note 5

I have the International Unlocked N910C Exynos model, rooted, running Simplite Rom which is the lightest Rom available, plus after rooted you can remove and disable all useless apps and services you don't need to use, that's all I did, the results are 1.5 day and 6hrs SOT(screen on time), for me this is more than enough, I know a lot of people will suggest waiting for the Note 5, but just think about the price, the Note 4 is almost a year old and still between $650+ - $750,(depending on the market) I didn't want to wait for the Note 5 cuz I know it will be around if not more than $1k, also, at least the Exynos model its almost the same as the new Galaxy S6, same CPU except our chip was build in 20nm and the new on in 14 nm, we also have almost the same camera, overall the Note 4 still an excellent device, maybe you have enough $$$ or not, but I will stick to my Note 4 and if I like something about the Note 5 I just wait to be ported, like I was running a Note 4 Rom ported on my Note 2, well I hope you decide to meet your needs, but this device its beyond awesome, god bless, cheers:fingers-crossed:

I purchased the N910C Exynos variant, and upgraded to Lollipop out of the box. I've had no problems with battery life, regularly getting 5-6 hours of screen on time, with 10-20% battery left at the end of the day. Just follow the standard advice for taking care of battery usage and be careful what apps you have running in the background. The Exynos variant has a Wolfson DAC, so it's great for listening to music - I finally parted company with my trusty Sony Walkman as the music playback on the Note 4 was so good. Can't speak for the audio on the Snapdragon variant though as it has different circuitry.

Which phone after Note 3

Hi Everyone
Had my SN9005 since launch. Feel it's now time for a new phone.
Been waiting for the LG G4 battery reviews and they are not very promising. Though it still seems the best of the bunch at the moment. Would love a Droid Maxx but no signs of anything similar being released in the UK.
Wanting to move away from Samsung because of KNOX.
So what's the options pls.
TIA
Wait for the new Nexus or the new OnePlus
I still don't see why everyone is so obsessed with KNOX... The EU laws render the KNOX flag irrelevant. (So unless you lot all vote 'leave' in 2017, those apply to you as well.)
At any rate, maybe the Nexus 6? Or the newly expected Nexus 5 2015?
Personally I'm waiting to see what the Note 5 will be.
probably the note 5 it will be a huge upgrade over note 3 and even note 4 i will tell you why:
1- cpu = it will have a 64 bit fully unlocked out of the box
2- ram = it maybe 4 giga as its first note and 64 bit samsung may not remanufactures note 4 so it will be 4 giga ram to feed real 64 bit cpu
3- software = newer touchwiz with lollipop 64 bit fully support out of the box
4-display = 2k or even 4k i think it will be 4k and it maybe 5.9
about the edge it may not came with edge it may come with fully foldable display very limted like note edge did in 2014
If this is indeed the Note 5, then I would be first in queue for it. My only problem is that Samsung seems to be heading towards closed off devices and I'm not a fan of them.
If this is the case, I'll be going to the G4. I've loved my Note 3 since I've had it. I don't think I can go for a smaller sized phone anymore. 5.1 just seems too small now.
Note 3 camera and casing really let me down. Kinda material (casing) with kinda price tag really dissapointed. No more Samsung after Note 3.
Any suggestion?
Unfortunately with Samsung they are not updating they bring out the best phones but leave customers hanging I've not even seen lollipop and m is being released and puts me off getting Samsung again to be left out in the cold after 12 months so that's why I'm going nexus I get the updates soon as they come out and no that in 3 yes time they will still be releasing current updates
what do you guys think of the upcoming chinese phones like xiaomi or meizu ? (i heared the last xiaomi mi note pro had massive overheating problems)
Note 5
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I think that the best option is waiting for note 5 or new nexus or other new. At now don't have worthy successor note 3 in my opionion. If you must change note 3 for other phone i suggest Note Edge because is different from phones in the market but have KNOX. For example i like have phone which is uncommon .
Note 5 or next nexus.
I personally think that note 5 will be the best choice. It should have many improvements over note 3
I wonder why Note 3 still rock us.
I think may be Note 5 (Edge) or S6 Edge (Plus).:good:
I like the phone with many good custom ROMs.
Atm it's not worth changing it with another phone, even the s6 wouldn't be a decent upgrade.
I'm keeping this for another year (bought it last summer) and will most likely get the note 5 after it gets a bit cheaper.
Nexus 6 is garbage (just like all the nexus devices), note 4 is not worth it, s6 is not worth it, g4 is not worth it, basically all current Gen phones are simply not worth it, as they aren't a huge upgrade.
And Sony is absolute trash, stay away from it! I've had their z3 tablet and it was the worst flagship device I ever owned, in my life.
i upgrade my note 3 every now and again with new casing and glass screen protector.
am using it till it dies.
the thing is so future proof. the only thing its missing is a finger print scanner

+1. Absolutely true. Got a new battery and updated rom. Maybe it won't die?
I have to agree with most persons that indicated the note 5 as being a viable option, but the concern I have is with Samsung Tizen OS. If the note 5 comes with Android M, I'm sure that will be a great device, otherwise seek the LG G4.

It's just such a shame that the Spen is a Samsung exclusive...
I can't go without it. If I'm not writing or drawing, I'm using it for games or the delightful little feature that is Penwindow. A regular stylus would not suffice, it's the Wacom tech that makes it what it is.
Regular stylusses are like trying to fingerpaint a Picasso.

S8 or the S7 Edge?

Hello everyone.
I'm looking for a new phone for myself and I've narrowed it down to the S7 Edge and the S8(Both exynos variants). I was wondering if anyone who has used both phones could decide for me. I can get the S7E for about $130 cheaper than I can get the S8. I like having a good camera(front and back both). I am, however, going to be keeping this phone for about 3-4 years since I'm a student and I'm looking to make this a one time investment till I graduate from university. Keeping that in mind, do you think I should get the S8 or the S7E? I don't mind paying a bit extra for the S8 but is it actually worth the extra $130? If I get an S7E, would it be able to last me till 3-4 years?
Thanks

Con :
Snapdragon 821 slower then the Exynos 8995 or the Snapdragon 835 (US Market)
Display of the Pixel just has 1920x1080 instead of 2,960 x 1,440.
Battery has a bit smaller Capacity with 2770 then the S8 with 3000.
Just to name a few differences.
But in the End it is your choice. (Price, Design etc)

Not many, as even though there is root, the root method has issues like battery not charging beyond 80%, also because of locked boot loader no custom kernels

Thanks

I'm undecided between the S7 and the S8, so I can understand you.
I've read many reviews and I think I can say there isn't a night and day difference in real-life use between the two models.
The S8 has the following pros:
- 64GB memory
- 10nm processor, more efficient and less battery-consuming
- USB Type-C connector
- support for the QuickCharge 3.0 standard
- Bixby
- support for more LTE bands
- being the latest flagship model, it's very likely it will have Android P and another 4 years of security updates, while the S7 models will be stuck with Oreo and another couple of years of security updates, tops.
Generally speaking, I like the S7 better and I don't mind Bixby, the bigger screen or most of the things above mentioned, but I do think that a 64Gb memory, longer software support, support for USb Type-C may justify the price difference.

Do you think that roms will be availble later?
Had the Pixel before the S8 and everything beside the Screen and the Design were better with the Pixel...
Pixel is better until the S8 gets Android 8.0, I have the 1st Gen pixel and the S8. Oreo 8.0 is fantastic so I would go with the pixel and I believe it's only $400 now since the second Gen is out now

But if you buy snapdragon version you will not have custom rom and root (it's not working perfectly)
I sold my S7 edge to buy a S8. And the S8 is definetly better !
Not only the design of the S8 makes us think that the S7 edge is 10 years old, but the S8 is also better in every other aspect
And you must not forget that the S8 will have updates for 1 more year than S7 edge. It's something to consider
