How to root latest stock miui? - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Hey there,
I am unable to root my 3S prime, it has latest stock MIUI global version.
After I flash latest twrp, it ask for decryption password. And there's nothing I can do about it. (Clean fastboot install is the same)
Is there another way?
Or maybe I can bake that rom prerooted. (Little guide?) Thanks
Sorry, If it is somewhere already. I used only google search last night.

There is encryption problem just go to wipe and format data using twrp and the encryptoin problem will be solved but your internal will wipe completely in this process. After that root the miui through twrp flash

Encrypted slot

I am sick of this encryption thingy everytime I want to flash a rom on 6t, sometimes it works sometimes it's triggered even if I follow twrp tutorial.
Lately I flashed omnirom, but it encrypted slot B, I rebooted to slot A in recovery and Oos booted.
So it looks like slot B is still encrypted while A is running great and rooted with magisk.
Should I decrypt slot B or it's useless as long as I won't flash a new rom?
So did you managed to flash omnirom or not?

Tried a second time but it will trigger encryption again following twrp first post tutorial. It's weird because it worked in the past with other aosp roms. Perhaps Omnirom dev forgot to add A6010 as compatible 6t?

Try to install without rebooting on twrp in between..
Flash rom
Flash twrp installer (DON'T reboot on twrp)
Wipe data
Flash gapps
Flash magisk
Reboot

Ok I will try.
And what is the way back? Last time I went back to oos from aosp it encrypted both slots, I had to use unbriking tool that wipes the whole phone

If both slots are encrypted you can maybe put the oos rom and a magisk zip on a otg storage to flash it via twrp
Let me know if it works also. I had same problem, the only way I was able to recover was to fastboot flash ops to phone.

Do you have 6010 variant?

Updating with TWRP/OrangeFox

I have unlocked bootloader, official OrangeFox recovery, and Magisk installed. I'm currently on stable global MIUI (stock 10.3.6.0 PFGMIXM).
When I flashed OrangeFox and Magisk, I had the encryption issue in which the device asks for a non-existent password and I had to wipe data.
Will flashing an official update through OrangeFox or TWRP produce the same issue? Or can I just dirty-flash it normally?

Dirty flash the update shouldn't cause any issues. Remember to flash again magisk after the rom.

I would format data one time only, then reinstall ROM. Shouldn't have any password asked from then on.

There is actually an OrangeFox thread you know.

I assumed you would tell me it was not really an OrangeFox-related question, but a general Lavender one; or you would just link me to the README file.
Could I get an answer if I asked in the official OrangeFox thread?

Well, you have already been given the answer. You only needed to format data once (and, yes, that is a general lavender issue). Flashing an updated ROM should not require formatting data. Of course if you flash a custom ROM that uses a different encryption protocol, you will need to format data again (ditto if you want to return to MIUI from a custom ROM).

Thanks very much it helped. I have downloaded fastboot Rom and flashed it. I have another big issue, after flashing 10.3.7.0 update I got miui stock recovery Installed so I again.
Flashed twrp from fastboot.
Then format data.
Flash magisk.
And reboot.
But after successful reboot and setup when I choose to use pattern or pin or password as authentication. The device is not recognizing my correct pin or password. It says password incorrect. Please help I am not finding any solution for this.
What is the correct pattern to install recovery to successful magisk install.
Thanks

Why did you used fastboot rom instead of the recovery rom? This way you didn't update the rom but reinstalled it. So I think that the only way to get rid of the password request is to format data partition from recovery and then install magisk. Next time you have to update you have to download the RECOVERY rom, dirty flash it and flash magisk before rebooting to system.

You have to flash twrp reboot to recovery if it asks for a password format data then install magisk. Vbmeta is needed just when you change rom from miui to aosp, so in this case you don't need it

OnePlus 6t Wifi Issue on custom roms

Okay so I've tried Pixel experience, lineage os , omni rom treskmod and couple of other custom android 10 roms, all stable and official and also updated ones, the wifi just simply doesn't work, wifi hotspot won't turn on either. I've tried every solution on the internet. I've even factory reset my phone using msm download tool and no luck(did this countless times).
I'm back in OOS 10.3.2 and there's no issue apparently.
At one point , i flashed a custom rom and the wifi didn't work, so I flashed OOS in the two slots and checked , the wifi works in OOS apparently, and never in custom roms.
Has anyone got this issue before and knows a solution?
How is your installation procedure?

I flash OOS and twrp on both slots, reboot recovery,
And then flash the rom and twrp, reboot recovery, then format data and factory reset, reboot recovery, if needed for some gapps, then reboot system

That's a lot of unnecessary steps. OOS on both slots, reboot to bootloader, boot twrp, format data and flash the custom rom, reboot bootloader, boot twrp and flash gapps, don't install twrp permanently if you are not going to install Magisk.

I need magisk too, I usually permanently install twrp
Also you think it's the way I'm installing at fault here? Or the rom? Or is it something wrong with my device?

Alright so got one doubt, I used OOS 10.3.2 to flash, should it be oos 10.0 only?
Thought that didn't make a difference.
I am also facing the same issue. Were you able to find any solution ?
So I found out treskmod omni rom and Paranoid android quartz 2 work perfectly , try those out, it still doesn't solve the problem in the other roms though. So not exactly a solution.

Xiaomi eu stable installation on Mi9T

Hey!
I want to ask you good people how to properly change my global 11.0.1.0.PFJMIXM to miui 11 stable xiaomi eu (xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20MI9T_V11.0.6.0.QFJCNXM_v11-10).
My phone is actually encrypted, has antiroll back "1", twrp already installed (twrp-3.3.1-2-davinci-fix).
Lately I've tried:
1. twrp format data, typed "yes"
2. copied rom, installed
3. reboot to recovery, and flashed magisk
and bootlooped...
I also would like to have hasty kernel and try new 82hz dtbo... If you be soo kind, you can suggest me how to do it also.
Thank you

Format data with yes
Reboot to recovery
Flash the rom
Clear cache/dalvik
Don't flash the Magisk right away

Flash kernel after first setup too...if anything goes wrong, just flash the rom over.
About dtbo, I don't use it, follow the instructions in that thread...

okay, i managed successfully xiaomi eu stable V11.0.6.0 and magisk.
Now can sombody advice me how exacly should I install "Hasty-davinci-Intoxicated-r3" and "VendorOverclockPackV2" (from topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-9t/themes/screen-overclock-mode-t4079693/page33 )

Oh, and my phone is now actually encrypted...
I know it's something like:
1. mount vendor if isnt
2. backup boot, dtbo and vendor
3. flash VendorOverclock V2.img (without reboot)
4. install hasty kernel (without reboot)
5. flash oc dtbo file (without reboot)
6. install magisk (without reboot)
