Is it possible to update firmware with custom rom installed? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hey guys, i searched a lot, on google and xda, but i think i couldn't find the answer to my question.
I have the latest unofficial LineageOS 8.1.0 Oreo installed, with TWRP.
At home my phone is losing wifi signal every few minutes and then it reconnects again, as far as i know this was already a problem with stock Samsung ROM installed. Now, since i rooted and installed TWRP and LOS i ask myself, if there is a possibility to update latest firmware / modem / booloader without wiping the device, respectively flash the whole Samsung stock ROM with Odin and root / the device again?
To be simple: Is it possible to flash extracted parts of the official Samsung FW package with odin or flashfire to update wifi modem / firmware without losing data and wipe my installed LOS rom?
All i could find was how to do this with official rooted samsung ROM but not how to update with an installed custom rom?
Maybe somebody can help me out here Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I found that somebody made twrp flashable modem and bootloader files! Thatd awesome, you can find the thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/guide-onelatest-stock-fw-csc-root-t3702963

I think you can update the bootloader and modem without wiping anything. Just flash thru odin. I'm on a custom rom by the way.

If you want to remove root:
- Use Triangle Away to reset the binaries and system status to official
- Unroot from within the superSU app
- Flash the rom with Odin
- Data factory reset
If you want to keep root:
Use Mobile Odin Pro to flash the new rom and keep root. Check inject superSU, Everroot and the other option. After it reboots do a data factory reset (root will stick btw).

No it's not safe nor recommended. If you had done a search you'd find dozens of threads asking and answering this question in existing threads. Accepting an OTA update is likely to break root and sundry custom ROM features.
You should refer to the custom ROM support thread where the developer will either tailor updates for your ROM. Or at least power users will discuss their effect on the ROM and how to best apply an update to your particular ROM.

OP is talking about flashing a full stock rom with Odin as i understand , not about getting or installing OTA`s as he is on a custom rom atm

Is there root for Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900T3?

I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S5 today at a local T-Mobile store. But it turns out that the model number is SM-G900T3, for which I cannot find any information on how to root and install custom recovery. Has anyone had any luck with this model? It's build LMY47X.G900T3UVU1FOF6 Android version 5.1.1
Thanks!
What to do for G900T3 S5
Same here. I went from S4 running cyangenmod 12.1 to s5 g900t3. All because i cracked the screen on my s4. I don't like the stock firmware too much on the s5 so I've been researching rooting it. But run into the same issue. No info on rooting this model. The only thing I can think of to do is downgrade to 4.2 using Odin then root and install CWM. Yet I found a forum where someone posted they were unsuccessful in downgrading the g900t3. So HELP PLEASE.
Turns out it's actually simpler than that. If your goal is to replace the stock firmware with a custom one, such as cyanogenmod then you don't even need to root your stock firmware. All you need to do is flash TWRP custom recovery with Odin, then reboot into TWRP recovery and create a backup of your stock firmware just in case. After that you should be good to go ahead and install cyanogenmod or any other supported custom firmware. This is exactly what I've done with my SM-G900T3.
But if you really want to root your stock firmware then here is a guide for that:

Hope this helps.
OK thanks for the link. It does state not to flash if I'm on FOG6 Build, which I am. Even though my baseband version is FOF6. Guessing the Build is more important. Last night I tried to downgrade to 4.4 using Odin, that immediately didn't work. So I Flashed Philztouch CWM on it then tried to install superuser from the galaxys5 root page, but it was stuck in bootloop on the T-mobile screen. I realized the superuser was for 5.0 version. So then I used Odin again to flash my firmware back on to it the g900t3 5.1.1 FOG6 from the Sammobile website. After that, because I saw I had a reply on here, I used Philztouch to install Cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly recovery (don't know which on it was, either klte or klteusc) without rooting and I was stuck in the Cyan's big eyed alien face thing bootloop screen again. So then I had to reinstall my stock firmware once more. Basically after 4+ hours of rooting I'm back where I started. LOL. I don't know what else to do. I'm still researching FOG6 to see if I find anything.

Would this be the same procedure to follow if I wanted to put a stock T-Mobile version of 4.4.2 on my SM-G900T3? Or would that not work?

running latest bootloader/modem question

Hi guys
searched the forums but cannot find the answer.
I have a 935f and its running the latest bootloader and modem from november. i just got this phone and have rooted and installed TWRP, when i am looking at custom roms like superman and renovate, it tells me to "update" my bootloader and modem to octobers version for superman or septembers version for renovate.
obviously i a running a later version than both of these, am i ok to flash the rom without doing anything or do i need to downgrade my bootloader then flash?
if i downgrade will i have to root and install TERP again plase?
thanks in advance for the help

Firmware/Bootloader Help

Hi all,
I've searched around and couldn't find a clear answer to this, I want to update the latest bootloader and firmware for my G900F (KLTE) and G901F (KKCAT6) and wondered if flashing the latest firmware from sammobile etc would do update these files? I am currently using Mokee Rom for both devices and would re-flash this rom after updating the bootloader and modem.
Would a simple flash of the firmware via Odin be enough? Many thanks for the help.
Edit: Do I also need to check/tick the box in Odin's options that says 'Phone Bootloader Update' when installing a stock firmware or does it update without this option?

Accidently flashed OOS 3.6.1 firmware. Revert without reflashing ?

Long story short : There was this custom OP2 ROM which already had it's network issues fixed but I thought it wasn't fixed. So I flashed the OOS 3.6.1 firmware for better network and Volte but now I'm facing a issue where the network just drops off and my 4g internet fails. This is due to me flashing that what wasn't required. Only a reboot fixes it and this is problematic.
Q] How do I extract the firmware from the my custom rom and make it flashable ? I don't want to reflash or dirty flash the rom.
Links would be appreciated. Thanks in advance !
The issue is not the firmware, custom rom doesn't have firmware included and the only firmware you should use is the latest 3.6.1.
