Hi guys, I will receive my atrix thuesday.
It is my third android device. (htc hero > milestone > atrix)
I have already rooted many devices.
As virgin mobile fr just began to sell the atrix there isn't really stock roms available so I would like to know if some roms are really compatible for gsm network.
1) I am aware there is a prebeta 3 for cyanogenmod 7 > Does it support gsm network?
2) Same about Alien rom > does it support gsm network?
3) Beside the gsm or cdma network issues is there any difference between the at&t device and the european one (I was used to milestone/droid differences)
4) No need to flash a sbf as the atrix will be brand new and probably updated to 2.3 ? (So my only concern will be to input the fastboot oem unlock command)
5) I read that some people have to apply ram fix to use all the 1 gb ram > Is it only a concern for orange users?
6) Is there radio updates to flash or bootloader ones ?
7) Any tip for compatible bluetooth keyboard ?
Free internets for help !
Thank you !
bumpy-bump
daily bump
Come on guys
1,2) Yes, all Atrix on the world are GSM
3) They mostly differ on memory layout ("tegrapart"), that's why you need to use a "ram fix" on some ROMs (see 5)
4) I doubt it will come unlockable from the factory, you might need pudding. Still, I suppose you can try fastboot oem unlocking, I guess it will simply say something like 'not supported'.
5) If your Atrix is not from AT&T, it will probably concern you.
6) Yes, there are some radio updates. As well as the unlockable bootloader if you need it. Read carefully and do not flash stuff without reading the posts 10 times at least and double checking what you're going to flash
Thank you very much !
A couple of hours and I will be able to try it out ^^'
I have put in a request for ooVoo to support 4-way video calling on the Desire HD. They have come back with a few questions about the phone. I rooted mine ages ago so am unable to answer all of them with the stock ROM info. My guess (and hope) is that if they were to support the phone my ARHD 6.3.2 rooted phone will work. If not, it will work for others so no harm done.
What I need to tell them is the following:
From your device Home menu tap on Settings and then tap About phone. Please send us the following information from your device:
Device Name and Model number
Software or Firmware or Android version
Kernel version
Build number
Carrier (provider of your plan)
Anyone care to share this generic, non-confidential data? :fingers-crossed:
Hey people!
Found this fix after I flashed a custom rom & lost my knock on feature. Hope it helps you guys, I didnt realise how much I used it till it didnt work.
How to access hidden menu on LG G2
3845#*802# (for International model)
3845#*801# (for T-Mobile)
3845#*800# (for AT&T)
5689#*980# – (for Sprint )
Dial: ##228378 + send (Verizon)
Other models, please use 3845#*YOUR-MODEL-NUMBER#
Dial 3845#*802# > setting > update touch firmware
Notes, the 802 to your LG G2 Model Number.
The guide shows a few more tests to do, bu I only used the "update touch firmware" step & it now works better than whenI had stock rom, seems more responsive.
Dont think its been posted but please feel free to remove or whatever if it has, just hoping to help peeps out, as this place has always sorted everything for me in the past on various devices.
I did not figure this out myself, I cant post the source as I need 10 posts 1st, so will do when I can, but the site is mylgphones dot com.
HTC dev just posted the the 5.0.1 source for the HTC M9
EU: HTC - 1.32.401.6
UK: H3G - 1.32.771.6
FRA: Bouygues - 1.32.1020.6
TW: HTC - 1.32.709.6
GER: Vodafone - 1.32.166.6
Nice but the latest eu version is x. 15 so its a bit weird
And the M9 never got 5.0.1
I noticed both of those things too. However until now, there hasn't been any source for the M9 on HTCDev.
Thank you kindly for posting about this. Now I should be able to make a proper recovery kernel and get MTP working.
Mostly Sony XZ-series phones have limited LTE Carrier Aggregation bands on per country / provider. You can check here more information about that: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/lte-carrier-aggregation-combinations-t3577544
I made step by step instruction how to modify on Sony XZ, Sony XZs, Sony XZ Premium and Sony XZ1 LTE Carrier Combinations. Rooted phone required. This instruction should working also with Dual SIM models.
Sony XZ Premium after Android 9 PIE does not work anymore
You can check this on my blog site: https://mt-tech.fi/en/modify-sony-xz-xzs-xz-premium-and-xz1-lte-a-band-combos/
Make sure you make full modem backup and backup all config files to your computer, if need restore configuration.
To try this mod, it should be supported by the carrier also! Is there a way to find out in which countries it's rolling?

Did you mean LTE Carrier Aggregation support? You just should check what band your provider support and then find possible combos on our Google sheets (link on first post).
Many providers also support well 256QAM/64QAM but not every provider yet. There is no list yet.
That's my point... There is no "list". You just try it and see if it's working. But I'm not brave enough to try it -and IF it goes smoothly- see no result because my provider being ambitious in saving money than QoS :/

That should ask from local provider customer service.
When know local LTE bands then know possible CA-combinations.

@olkitu QPST on xz1/xz premium with Android Pie works using the magisk module that you can find here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78919730&postcount=119. No need to install custom driver, you can use the driver from windows update. I'm saying it to you also because your tutorial is among the first results on Google
Edit: It seems to not work on XZ premium. I was wrong

Thanks for sharing this! I have to put test this Magisk module and then update my blog posts.
This driver is Qualcomm official driver for Xiaomi but yes if you can find it from Windows Update that is good.

On oreo using the driver for xiaomi I had to manually insert the "COM" port, now with the drivers downloaded by windows the phone is autodetected*.
The device used by QPST is "USB\VID_05C6&PID_9091&REV_0404&MI_00". Sometimes with the module enabled the phone says "no service", to solve the problem just enable and disable the "Airplane mode", note that this does not interfere in any way with QPST/QXDM. Obviously you should disable the module after finishing the work.
And thak you very much for your work I still have some doubts about the lte_category file. Analyzing the firmware of many smartphones I understand how the files disable_cap_ies (disable 64qam/256qam capabilities), rrc_capable_plmn_list (limit the plmn that have capabilities not disabled) and the carrierpolicy works, but I found anything about lte_category :/
*In my case qpst is running in windows 7 compatibility mode

I can't get it to work on XZP Pie. Phone shows up in QPST, but as Unknown (No ESN). Same thing without the mod, but by running setprop commands from the shell. Used to work fine on Oreo.

Are you using a typec cable? Are you using the com port of the device "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9091" ? Can you tell me if QPST see the device for few seconds during the boot?
Hi OLKITU, I wanted to ask you a question, I have a sony xperia xz1 compact Docomo version, rooted, I can open the band 20 following what you explain in your blog? https://mt-tech.fi/en/modify-sony-xz-xzs-xz-premium-xz1-and-xz2-lte-a-band-combos/
I am in France and I need the band 20. Thank you for your answer.

Better buy device from France to support bands and carrier aggregation combinations used in France.
Thank you very much for your response, Olkitu. I am trying to enter qualcomm diagnostic mode, and I cannot. I have done everything you describe in your blog and nothing shows up in QPST. I even tried with the command (setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb), and I can't enter the diagnostic mode either. Do you know how to fix it? Thanks you
olkitu , little bit off topic but at what extent can be done with Qualcomm software to unlock the full potentioal of any phone? Im not talking about LTE and 5G, I mean Bluetooth, GNSS, Wifi, NFC, codecs. Because of the lack of tutorials on how to edit NV items EFS mods its a dangerous game.

Hi xavinaz.. I'm in the same situation as you. Have a docomo xz1 compact and need 20 band.
Have you found any solution ?
Right now I have Havoc 4.13 but I coudn't access the modem. But rolling back the phone to android 8 with the stock rom and using the temp root exploit you can access the modem as described in the tutorial.
But then I'm not be able to unlock the 20 band. So I go back to android 9 and now on havoc
Hello Bob, I have not been able to enable the band 20LTE. I have reviewed many blog and websites, and it is impossible.... I have not found the solution.
