A more embossed "I" appeared in my Nokia 6 back cover "NOKIA" logo. I do not remember seeing it before.
Is something broken or designed to open the cover or something else?
I think it just fell out, check that video, it's for the Nokia 7, but it's normally the same material as the Nokia 6 : https://youtu.be/UpxN9IYPQJc?t=247
Letters are glued. If your phone experience heating for prolonged period of time that glue becomes a bit liquid and letters can come off. I had two letters came off on my Nokia 6 ) I removed the old glue and glued them back.
I don't remember heating, but a couple of falls from 1.50 m, with just a little scratch in the aluminum border.

After opening the back cover a few times to get at the battery, the case on the bottom left where the chin starts, if you push on it it now creeks which is very annoying given that is where you hold it with your thumb most of the time - has anyone else come across this? think i may have to wedge some paper in there to stop it.. its like chinese water torture!!
My first Hero was bad for this but this (4th) one doesn't creak at all. An old Sony Ericcson phone I had had the problem too but I solved it using the method you suggest in your opening post. Get the scissors and tape out!
I am having a similar issue. My back cover is creeking just behind the volume rocker on the left side of the phone. (HTC branded Hero - White)
My G1 had a creeking issue also. Went through six of them before I finally got one that didn't creek.
Mine didn't creak initially, after a few days of being in the pocket it now does. Shame really, but not the end of the world.
Easy solution to this.
Take off your back cover and have a look for the little plastic tabs that slot into place when you attach the cover. Get a dab of oil, engine oil or olive oil or something and rub it between your fingers. Then give the plastic tabs a light rub between your fingers; just enough to impart a thin layer of oil to them.
Replace your cover.
Problem solved. If this doesn't work, you may need to just rub around the edge of the cover wherever the noise is coming from.
I did something very similar and used some Krytox grease around the edge of the back cover. Squeak free now.
Well, since a got a lot to study these days I do everything else but actually to concentrate on my work I stared at my devise today and realized that I'm a x1 owner for about an year and 3-4 months and decided to show you in what condition is my x1. Lets say I use it like everybody else except dropping it on the ground two - three times and here's is the aftermath of my x1's struggles in my pockets and in my hands :
1. The paint of the battery cover worn off
2. A crack near the volume button
3. crack again on the silver frame
4. The plastic around the stylus is pretty scratched
5. My space button cracked almost in half though it still works
6.The keyboard i believe needs cleaning form the dust cause some of the keys should be pressed really hard to work, some of them type 2-3 letters when pressed once
7.My "green phone" button and the left direction of the D-pad don't work - have no idea why (the X button and the left soft key work)
8. Every additional scratch on the surface of the phone including some minor on its display
Im curious what your X1s look like - Share some photos of the devise here and tell us since when have you been using it.

same SH*T for me XD, but only on silver frame and some keys :x
I've had my X1 for a year and 3months, and its actually in pretty perfect condition. Everything is working and I actually got the case replaced by Sony last week, after my girlfriend dropped it and created some cracks.
The only thing is a thin scratch on the screen which I caused yesterday
i have seen ur xperia battery cover have lot of scratches but i have do one thing in my battery cover i have Taped on Battery Cover This is used in Car decoration u can't imagine that my old battery cover is New with no scratches here is a solution for scratch cover
mine looked a lot worse. i had no more color left on the battery cover
the keys were completely scratched because of a faulty slider
even the silver frame had parts missing
etc..
too bad i didn't make any pictures..
Oh my the spacebar crack would irritate me the most, almost enough to buy a new phone. I have also had my X1 for just over a year now.
Anyways my has most of the same problems: (sorry no camera)
- worn off battery cover paint
- minor chips and dents on buttons
- permanent pocket lint around the screen corners
- permanent pocket lint where strap goes in at bottom
- cat bite on the screen (still works )
- loose mini usb connection
I guess mine is a huge dust/lint collector
Overall I am not hard on my phone at all, and am a bit disappointed with the build quality within just after a year. The battery cover is like buying a car and the paint begins to peel off after too many waxes.
Mines still in pretty good condition. just a few small scratches on the top right corner where I dropped it and a small crack near the volume control. Mine was the silver so no paint to scratch off, and I keep mine in a case, its only been in my pocket a few times uncased.
Had mine 18 months, looking in fairly good condition. Best think I ever did was take the black paint off the battery cover looks much better now.
Chris
I've been using mine for 1.5 years. The battery cover has some scratches, otherwise it's in a very good condition.
Maybe because I am a woman and keep it in a microfiber case
Hi guys,
Nothing big here, just thought I'd share my experience with Samsung's plastic build quality.
So long story short: I've always kept my phone in a case, until I bought the 2000mah extended battery pack for about a month ago (the mesh case don't fit with the new battery cover). Also, I ALWAYS keep my phone alone in my pocket. It hasn't even touched harder stuff than denim as I'm very careful with it. The disappointment was therefore big when I noticed that the chrome on the screen bezel had a dent some days ago. This small dent has now started growing bigger and bigger, and I must say I'm really disappointed with the finish on this product. When you buy a high-end device and treat it even better than recommended by Samsung, it should last longer than 5 months before the chrome painting starts falling off. I've now sent a complaint to my carrier, so we'll see how that goes. Check out the attached picture to get a glimpse of the black plastic beneath the chrome paint.
I've had my phone since release and have had it with no case since. I've dropped it numerous times and barely have any marks around the phone. That's weird the phone has faded/chipped like that.

Somebody else posted yesterday about some of the chrome on the bezel coming off as well, see link below.

I also have this problem but it doesn't disturb me that much.
Too bad it already has signs of wear after 3 months
Chrome rubbed off on the same corner. Now that I have a cover it doesn't bother me so much...
I need tips on gluing down this piece of plastic that's for the camera flash that runs into the vibrating motor when it comes loose, I tried super glue but it didn't adhere at all to the phone or the flash after 15 minutes, and wiped up 100% clean with a piece of cloth
I've got everything from Epoxy, Crazy glue, probably some other stuff that I can't think of off the top of my head. will probably end up having to mix together a bit of epoxy won't I? don't really care to send it in for repairs, would rather fix it myself and not have to wait a week or 2, no backup phone D:
i've run into this problem TWICE so far...
first time was about 7-8 months ago...opened up my HD2 (after viewing the disassembly video) and pushed the flash cover back into its place. it clicks into place, with four "pegs" (one on each corner of the flash cover).
about 10 days ago, it fell back in...again! it was probably because my friend was rolling and turning and flipping my "precious" in his hands. so i figured, i can train myself to not apply pressure on the flash cover...but what the hell do i do about fidgety individuals who aren't so careful with my HD2?
i opened it up, this time i removed the flash cover and took a good long look at it. notice there is a depressed border along the circumference of the flash cover when looking at the cover's "outside" face. i took a dab of super glue and let it stretch into a "string", which i then laid down on the depressed border along the circumference. then i quickly snapped the flash cover back into its place...the "pegs" felt more snug this time...i hope it takes!
anyway, thats what i have done, only been 10 days...if you want to give super glue another shot using my method, only advice i can give is to keep the glue AWAY from the dark grey casing of the HD2 and to keep the glue AWAY from the areas of the flash cover where the flash shines through. both of these surfaces seem to deform easily due to the super glue's chemical properties. i got glue on a small 0.2mm x 0.2mm area on the flash cover that is visible after reassembly if one looks closely.
EDIT: i should add that when i say "super glue", i am actually talking about a local product manufactured here called "elfy", which i always though was a knock-off of super glue. this stuff doesn't wipe off with a cloth after 15 mins...so there is something different between the "elfy" i'm using and your "super glue"
One of my friends, after drinking too much, thrashed my tablet to the floor, way back in 2013. The digitizer and speakers died of the shock. Still it worked with mouse and headphones. I did the final damage in 2014, when I intended to buy a digitizer; so I separated the LCD from the front glass by blowing hot air. Actually I unscrewed the front panel assembly first, then blowed hot air on it and pulled the LCD backwards slowly from one side with the help of a small flat-head screwdriver as a lever. I did not know the functioning of LCD panels back then. I removed some rainbow colored semiliquid, thinking it to be glue, from the separated surfaces with the help of isopropanol. I observed that the LCD went uniformly white when switched on. That being my my first android device I could not throw it out. After three long years, I examined it again. The battery was dead. Still it will switch on from direct 5V input after a little mod. Now I see that another glass layer at least 1mm thick, smaller from bezel and exactly the size of LCD, is sticking behind the front glass. This combo works as a polarizer. Now I doubt whether what I thought to be glue was actually the liquid crystal layer itself. Pictures attached. Any clue on what actually had happened back then? Is there no option but to throw out the display assembly?

you sir, have ****ed up. based on what I am seeing here (and I am far from an expert) you have indeed removed the liquid crystals from the display. You're tablet is ****ed. Buy a new Nexus 7, and swap the mother board from your old one and stick it in the new one if you want to keep the whole "first android device" feeling. Otherwise, your "first android device" is broken. I only reccomend this, because an LCD replacement is about 30$, whereas you can pick up a good condition used Nexus 7 8GB (who cared how big the storage is, your swapping boards) off ebay for around the same price. Good Luck with whatever your next move is.
I heartily thank you for insulting my foolishness. I really needed one to move on from lingering false hope.
