How to boot into TWRP recovery mode from Phone OFF state

I cannot figure out how to boot into recovery from phone off state. If I go to ROM Toolbox pro and reboot that way into recovery, then it works fine, but NOT from phone off state. Thanks.
Press/hold vol down + press/hold power will get you to the bootloader, then select recovery from there.

Did you "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" or "fastboot boot recovery.img"?
Got, it. Reinstalling recovery from Goomanager, worked. For whatever reason, my recovery was repalced or gone.

Hey the same thing is happening to me as I am using my Nexus 5. Can you please show me how to do what you did to find this. I cannot boot into recovery. When I try installing TWRP from GooManager it just says it will download but it never does and then after a while the app shuts down. I tried flashing clockwork mod recovery from Rom Manager and it downloads all the way and than says that a problem occured. Can somebody please help me with my situation. When I press the power button and the volume down button and it brings me to the bootloader and i navigate to recovery, it just brings an android guy with a red triangle. please help me. I just want a custom recovery. I don't care what it is. Either TWRP or clockwork mod.

Hello forum peoples. Recently I have tried to flashthe paranoid android firmware using flasherfy. I have twrp installed but idk if I was supposed to do with it. My phone is now in a boot loop because of my attempted flash. Please help me fix this. I am able to boot into both firmware update mode and factory reset mode. For the factory reset mode I am able to boot into the reset mode but as soon as I try to wipe it just reboots again. I have tried to use the lg firmware update tool using com5 and com41 and using both they stop at 49% and the phone just disconnects from the program/computer. Help Please! !
EDIT: I have an lg g2

For stock recovery, yes you'll see that screen. On that screen all you have to do is press power button and then press volume up (just one quick press) and it will take you into recovery menu.

[Q] Help booting into Recovery

Hi guys, I've unlocked my bootloader and flashed CWM from:http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager, I've flashed and didn't get any errors, boot to Android and did "adb reboot recovery", I get in a screen with the android with a red triangle, stayed for some mins and nothing, I turned off and boot to Android, turned off again and turn on by Power + Vol -, Select Recovery and samething...
obs: I used this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266654 and downloaded this SuperSU: http://download.chainfire.eu/345/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip
How can I boot to recovery?
Another thing does SuperSU v1.51 works on Android 4.3?
Thanks
The screen with just a red triangle is stock recovery. Press and hold power and press volume up and you should get the stock recovery menu.
Try flashing CWM from fastboot manually as it's not taking with ROM Manager (which I don't rate anyway)

- Install the new drivers: HERE
- Update ur ODIN
EDIT: How to use ODIN -> HERE
Tryvthis first:
Boot to recovery by pressing VOLUME UP + POWER.
when you see blue writing in top left corner release the power button but keep holding volume up until you're in recovery.
P.S The Home button is not needed on i9505 to boot to recovery or download modes.

This worked, and phone booted in recovery mode (not touch that was previously installed), wiped data/factor reset however phone is still not booting. I think phone has no rom manager installed, how can I proceed to install rom manager and flash stock rom or root it again?

[Q] Help! I'm rooted but can't properly install clockwork or TWRP

My device is rooted. I tried installing clockwork but no image for my device. I tried installing TWRP but nothing happens when I reboot. I can't reboot into clockwork recovery mode or TWRP. Both immediately reboot to the LG screen after 1 second of the android. What am I doing wrong?
Hey,
Try this if the recovery is really installed (FOR SURE IF RECOVERY IS INSTALLED):
Shut down the phone and Hold the power button + volume down button until the LG image appears. Once it does let go of the buttons then immediately push and hold them again until recovery boots.
If not then
Visit this site for easiest and safest tutorial: www.lg-phones.org/clockworkmode-cwm-recovery-for-lg-g2.html
Hit thanks if this helped you.
are u using stock rom with root?
if so then the reboot option will always only reboot the phone, not reboot to recovery of choice.
try third party app that has option to reboot to recovery like Goo Manager :good:

Can't boot into twrp, help!

Hello! I rooted via ioroot, and installed twrp today with the app called "freegee". But when I try to boot into the twrp recovery the lg logo just go through 2 times before the phone starts and boot up (the phone is working fine), but I can't access twrp! Can I just try to flash twrp in flashify and try that?
Btw I do have root, I have checked it
Any help is appreciated!

I tried all the hardware combinations suggested on the forum, but was unable to boot into TWRP (using CM11's advance reboot to get into recovery does work).
After LOTS of experimentation, I was able to get into TWRP using the hardware buttons by doing this:
Power Off entirely
Boot by pressing Power + Vol-Down
... wait for LG logo to come up, but dont let go of the buttons [this is where my attempt differed from the other instructions that suggested letting go of Power + Vol-Down and pressing it again]
LG logo will very quickly go away and the screen will be off again
THEN start it up by pressing Power + Vol-Up [normally Vol-Up is for download mode]
It will show the factory reset screen ... press the power button 3 times, and it will go into recovery
I don't know why the above method worked for me, or if this will work for you (or anyone else), but this is the only way I was able to get into recovery. In case it's relevant, I have an LS980 (Sprint).

Thanks! It worked now, I just couldn't find out how the button combination was then,..thanks to both of you :good:
One last question, when I take a nandroid, do I just backup my system, boot, and recovery to backup a working rom, or do I need to backup data too? Because my data is on 3,2 gb and I don't have space for that lol

You can also download TWRP manager and use the reboot option to boot into recovery. Don't have to try and time the hardware buttons.
