Copperhead OS - Google Pixel 2 XL Guides, News, & Discussion

Anyone interested in a Copperhead OS rom for the Pixel 2XL?
https://copperhead.co/android/docs/building
I'm a novice but am very interested in the security features of this.
Has anyone here tried to build this and had success?
I'm working on it, but it's slow going. Any advice or tips would be great.

As far as I know, the main developer for CopperheadOS was removed from the team, thus killing the project entirely. You can read more on this here. The CopperheadOS project is dead, but I believe you may be interested in RattlesnakeOS.

LineageOS development [unofficial][To-Start]

Okay people, i know things do not look very good for this device, and yeah, we all are frustrated with the fact that no one is building any good rom(except this Resurrection Remix(on http://forum.le.com/in)) for this device.
I am thinking of trying to build the LineageOS for this device.
I am new to building roms, I have not developed any rom before, so this will be my very first experience.
I would very much appreciate any help that any of you may offer regarding any thing.
Be it any tutorial/guide, source codes, testers, or any thing else you have in mind.
I would be downloading the sources today and will look around for tutorials for porting roms with source code that i already have (thanks to that resurrection remix ROM dev 19wisnia89(on http://forum.le.com/in)).
I would also be contacting other devs of other devices for any help regarding the porting process and stuff.
If you know these stuff and would not mind helping me out, it would be very nice.
Please quote me on the reply here or PM me with anything here
Note: I would be needing testers because i don't quite own the device for myself, it's my mother's and i can't risk tempering with it, but I still want it to have a dev support.
All the best for the success, I also tried to compile the kernel and the source code is working completely fine without any modification but I was confused about the process of building the android So I will always help you whenever needs my help. and if you can guide me to building guide then i will also love to try that.

I have gone through the porting guide on CM wiki(through archive.org) a couple of times and a few more places, I have not downloaded the source code of Lineage os, but I have source code of cm13, so i'll build it first,

whats the difference between the two maintainer and builder?

whats the difference between the two maintainer and builder?
there are a lot of nougat roms but they are all not official...as far as i understand because there ie no maintainer. but there are builder. so whats the difference.
almost every s model including the minis have official nougat
Maintainer is a developer, somebody that actually knows programming and also has some experience with it. He or she is the one that fixes device specific bugs.
A builder is just that, somebody that builds the ROMs. Anyone can build a ROM, it doesn't require any programming knowledge.
And there are various guides on how to do it too, you only need a Linux system with decent performance, otherwise it might take some hours only to build one ROM zip.
The Maintainer job is purely a voluntary one. So somebody has to volunteer to become the Lineage maintainer for the S4. But this is not all. He or she also needs to be accepted by the Lineage team, because they don't just take anyone. You need some experience for it.
Another reason we have no official Nougat is because there are still some bugs (such as the reboot bug) and the Lineage team doesn't accept that from what I heard. Oh, and they want cleaner code too.
So yeah, I don't know if he will have any official Nougat any time soon, if ever.
But just because we don't have official Nougat doesn't mean we don't have developers. We still have some people that do some developing for the S4.

Lineage OS

Hey super noob questions.
1. I thought I had read there was Lineage OS already out for essential? I searched everywhere and can't locate it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
2. I saw someone mention discord channel for development? I am super interested in learning and observing. Can anyone share links?
Thanks!
Check out the Development section
Here's the link. https://www.xda-developers.com/unofficial-factory-images-essential/
i'm totally confused by two previous replies. Are you saying OOTB Essential Nougat is based off Lineage? Otherwise, the link and development forum all talked about Essential Phone image and not Lineage.
I thought the post is asking where the Lineage OS/ROM is which I'm yet to find as well.

[910F] Kernel support for Zerolemon/extended battery WITH LOS 15.1/RR/AICP roms

I have scoured the forums for some sort of answer.
I just re-purchased a new shiny Note 910F.
I am going to immediately flash RR 8.1 once I receive it.
Please someone tell me I am being stupid and missing something,
There has to be a kernel that works for CM like OS's with the added zerolemon extended battery read fix?
I understand there is Emotion Kernel and it stopped development in 2016.
I wonder if it will work, but it might not work with oreo 8.1, when development stopped with 6.0.1?
Anyone that can guide me in this, I would immensely appreciate it.
Please, someone guide light for me..
Thank you!

TWRP 3.5 - build android device

Hi everyone,
I was very excite when I saw this post on TRWP site: https://twrp.me/site/update/2020/12/31/twrp-3.5.0-released.html since it would add the so much missed support for native android 10 devices like my 1+7tp mclaren, but to build this twrp you need an android device specific for 7tp mclaren I belive (similar to the ones found in https://github.com/TeamWin/?q=android_device_oneplus) (the android 10 branch)
Are there any guides on how to do this? I'm more than willing to give it a go and share it back if i manage to get it working.
My whole point in getting a OnePlus device was that I could dual boot (it would be really nice to be able to dual boot nethunter for work since I constantly need to do simple security assessments on the fly. Having that possibility on my mobile would be a huge time saver for me)
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
And congratulations to all on this forum. It's always great to see the coding communities at work!
