So.. I just installed Phoenix OS on my laptop, using the latest exe file. Once finished, I went on to restart the PC, then, there is a screen / terminal that I can choose between 2 OS, which is my Windows 10 , and Phoenix OS. Picking Windows 10 would boot Windows 10, but when I pick Phoenix OS, it just goes black, then after 5 seconds it just restarts and goes back to the terminal. Reinstalling won't help. Turning off secure boot and fast boot also doesnt work. Please help.
.
If you are wondering if there are any white text or logs that show when I pick an OS on tge terminal, there is, but only when I pick Windows 10, picking phoenix, as I already said, doesn't show anything, just blackness, though I know the laptop is turned on because I can see the brightness, and after 5 seconds, it turns off and turns back on again (restarts)
My Specs are:
Dell inspiron 15 3552
Intel Celeron cpu
Intel HD Graphic Card
4GB RAM

Background: I bought this phone on ebay mainly for development testing of apps. The seller has a high reputation and said that the device would boot to the insert sim card prompt. Upon receiving the phone it always boots to the download mode, I am new to Windows Phone 7, I tried to get it to hard reset, I downloaded Samsung-i917-Focus-firmware-UCJK2-ATT-USA.exe extracted the files and installed the usb drivers. The 7.05 version of the program runs copying files to the phone and you can see a progress bar at the bottom of the download mode screen. When it gets to the end and reboots it immediately goes back to the download mode screen and from videos I have found it should go to a transfer screen. The program does still go with the rebuilding part but the phone stays on the download mode screen. I have waited over an hour after the program said it was complete. I have also pulled the battery after a half hour and on pressing power it goes back to the download mode screen. Hardware version 1.3
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Yesterday I tried to upgrade to windows phone 10 technical preview, but it got stuck on cog wheel page screen with no progress for 2 hours.
I searched a bit on net and found that removing the sd card helped, so I removed the battery between update and removed the battery and then sd card, and rebooted the device. This time it progressed but after some time it stuck in a boot loop, where it would repeatedly restart to cog wheel screen.
I tried all the reset options on the net, but it didn't work. Finally I decided to roll back to windows phone 8.1, using windows phone recovery tool. It successfully started, downloaded required file, started installation and then showed an error and after that it is stuck on a red screen with large NOKIA logo on it.
I have tried everything given here
goo.gl/UVSjQi (xda thread)
goo.gl/A8ltgT (step by step process on how to recover bricked windows phone) and a lot more places.
I think the problem is they want the device to be connected as "QHSUSB_DLOAD" but my lumia 520 is detected as "NOKIA FLASH" in windows 10, and it gives error while trying to write data to phone.
I'm trying the same process in windows 8.1 virtual machine, as I post the question here.
F.A.Q.
1. The phone in question is lumia 520
2. On pressing volume down and power key, it reboots to red screen.
3. No I didn't hard reset the phone before starting to upgrade to windows 10 technical preview.
I tried to install the Windows 10 preview on my lumia 520 but after the spinning gears it always gave back an error code when it rebooted into windows 8.1. I decided to try and reset to fix the problem. It failed after 5 minutes and gave back a sad face and does this each time I reboot. I have tried many of the fixes on the site but I cant get the phone into any other mode other than the spinning gears and sad face. It connects to the computer for a few seconds that says Nokia Bootmgr in device manager but then just disconnects. Pressing the volume down doesnt work. Any suggestions?
Windows Device Recovery Tool?
Ive tried this but the problem is the computer doesnt recognize the phone at all
Phone is an HP Elite X3. Randomly got a blue screen that says error 0xc000098 and something about the \BCD file not having operating system information in it. This is after restarting the phone twice after updating it.
It is not possible to put the phone in flash mode, it just brings back the blue screen when restarted. Can't boot to OS.
Any ideas? The computer does not recognize the phone.
