Just cancel it in Password page.
As for decryption, you didn't decrypt your device. You should've done it while flashing Magisk.
Flash decrypt.zip. It'll decrypt the device. But Intenal Storge WILL BE DELETED.

No it won't! Don't give wrong information. I have done dirty flash many times and it doesn't delete any of my data.

It's not about dirty flashing.
Decrypting storage will definitely wipe data.

Does decrypting storage mean running the decrypt.zip in TWRP? If yes then it will not wipe data. Done that many times when I upgrade the firmware.

Because your storage was already decrypted.

Wiping data on encrypted device wipes internal storage?

I was wondering about this. My device is encrypted and I was flashing a ROM. And I only wiped System, Cache, Dalvik and Data. I didn't wipe Internal Storage. But After I Flashed the new ROM my internal was also wiped! So I wanted to know if this is what supposed to happen with encrypted device, or it was a mistake?

Wiping data deletes all settings and apps, wiping internal storage deletes all pictures, music and stuff. Unfortunately, I don't know why your internal storage got wiped, never happened for me.

I know that. As I said I'm encrypted, is it because of that?

Unlikely, I'm also encrypted and it never happened for me. What recovery do you use? I use the Chinese TWRP version.

Its told to be buggy, especially in combination with Oreo Roms. I recommend to either use ibe TWRP (by a Chinese developer) or blu_spark TWRP, you can find them both here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74946590&postcount=2

No you want to go to format and ask you to type yes. Do this. Then flash the ROM you want. Fulmics, stock, etc.
Ok doing that
Fulmics installed correctly but it still asks me to enter a password in twrp

Do the following:
1. Put Fulmics rom or any other rom on the SD Card and put it in your phone.
2. Format your system, don't wipe because your phone needs to be configured again.
3. Install TWRP on your phone with ADB.
4. Install the Fulmics rom.
5. Now it should be all okay.
TWRP is working properly now I can now make backups with TWRP, thanks

Follow this
-First and the foremost point, remove any kind of security/screen locks. Remove all the fingerprints & set the lock screen lock to none.
- Flash latest Stock Oreo build, along with it's firmware.
- Download latest build & gapps.
- Boot into latest TWRP.
- Wipe system, cache & data.
- Flash the ROM & TWRP installer.
- REBOOT BACK TO RECOVERY & flash gapps
- Reboot and ENJOY

Rooting my X00_TD?

I have unlocked the boot-loader and also installed TWRP recovery on my X00_TD device which has 'Pie' as it's Stock ROM.
Now, I would like to know how to proceed to do rooting on this device.
Is it necessary to run decrypt zip file before we run 'magisk-v19.1' to root?
Please advise!
Decrypt removes another variable from the process, so yeah it might be good to remove a probable failure point.
Decrypt and then Magisk?

So , irrespective of the state of the device one needs to flash the decrypt file first and then flash the magisk to root the device, right?
Please advise!

When rooting mine I used the decrypt.zip . When you factory reset the phone will take some time to encrypt your data and this prevents that. It will hinder you from flashing stuff from the internal storage in TWRP. You can use magisk without it too.

I went ahead and flashed magisk without flashing decrypt. The root was successful!
Now, when tried to clear cache via TWRP it says 'Unable to Mount Storage'. What could be the reason here?
Is it safe to wipe dalvik/art cache?
Please advise!

Try to run decrypt.zip it should fix the problem. I used a OTG device since I didn't have a SD card. Unless you run decrypt.zip you cannot use the internal storage. So I would recommend running it despite my last statement.

From AOSP to miui

Hi,
Running latest evolution x rom and want to go back to miui. Simply wiped everything in twrp and installed xiaomi.eu rom - installation was successfully but when It's finish booting and the set-up screen should be there my screen just goes black and set-up screen is coming again and again and again and again. Even tried different miui ROMs. Was running completely fine a week before.
Any suggestions?

Did you leave your password/pin before you changed rom? Try deleting in TWRP and see if it helps.

Sorry but I'm out of ideas then. I usually go back and forth xiaomi.eu and aosp but I haven't encountered this. I usually wipe cache, dalvik, data, and system. I also have to reboot to recovery after wipe before flashing xiaomi.eu to be able to mount the system partition.

I do the same
Mhm. I will try again this evening. Let's see.
I'm facing the same issue...
Coming from LOS, I flashed latest EU rom, wiped data and internal storage.
Now I'm looping at the setup screen "Just a sec..."
I removed the pin/pwd in TWRP but it didn't help

Oh sorry I misunderstood, no I just wiped /data.
As soon as I copied the rom on my phone again I'll try that if I'm facing the same issue :good:
I followed this steps to come back to MIUI from LOS:
1. Wiped everything (cache, internal, vendor, system, data)
2.After wiping I did "format data" and said "Yes"
3.Rebooted to recovery TWRP again
4.Mounted my phone on PC and copied rom.zip
5.Flashed the zip and reboot to system
Try this and it should work, for me did! Good luck!

I don't know precisely why, but yeah, it's not the same thing. In fact, I had problems too, but formatting data after total wipe resolved them
formatting data "Yes" is another thing that is important when you flash custom ROM or go back to stock ROM.
After flash the miui, go back wipe -> Factory Data -> Type (yes) -> restart
it will be works
Same here
I flashed fastboot rom to get device work again
