[Q] Main Camera firmware update failed

I have Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505.
Whenever I open camera app , it shows me a message that the camera firmware is being updated... I let it do the job for 2 or 3 minutes, and then the camera app closes. If I try to run it again, the process repeats.
I updated to Lollipop (also I had the same problems before that update), and reset to factory settings once, and none of that seems to help.
Front camera works without any issues.
I wanted to check camera firmware version and in the picture you can see that it says "null".

Do you have any solution for this? I think that camera module works because sometimes the device can take images for a minute.

Update your firmware via Odin, download the latest rom you find in sammobile for you phone and flash it. If it doesn't work try a new kernel.

Is there a way to solve this problem without flashing custom rom?

It's not custom and it will NOT trigger Knox. Download the firmware that matches your country and carrier from sammobile.

I did what you said with ODIN. Camera is still not working

I have the exact same problem, just started in the last week - I even did a factory reset and tested a known good camera module and the problem persists. I'm running a I9505G (GPE version, unrooted, stock) on 5.0. I've tried everything and there are quite a few similar posts from the last month or so regarding the same issue. Either some type of software rollout is causing this or our boards are all failing at around the same time.

I wanted to confirm whether moto has provided full Camera2 API support for 3rd party apps.
Someone who's on official soak test, please try this app and post screenshot of the result. That's the only reason stopping me to buy this device.

Not working in Official Nougat (NPJ25.93-11) also

with RR5.8.0 over n soak, I got everything except the manual white balance, weird.

Never had stock Nougat on my device yet. Bought with Marshmallow, immediately unlocked bootloader, installed TRWP, started flashing roms.
Tried it on AOKP 7.1.1 - I get everything except Manual White Balance.
But I'm having bad experiences. With Snap Camera, every second photo is green in gallery and reports a size of about 0.99MB. Shooting RAW locks up the camera, though the RAW file is saved to storage and later can be viewed.
With Camera Zoom, every second photo is green as above. The app gets buggy, cannot close the app.
Tried Camera Zoom and Snap Camera on RR N 5.8.2 also, had same bugs.
I have to say though, the quality of the photos it does manage to save is super.
Hopefully the USA N OTA will bring better results, although I will have to do that OTA the manual way though I think, now that I've unlocked on MM.

Everything works fine. Super Stable and Battery friendly except youtube app. its always giving an error unable play video playback id how to fix this? I fix this before by installing YouTube app I think its obsolete version i found here on XDA. But I cant find it now. Do you know How to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Bootloop after installing few apps
Hi, Good ROM, but I get bootloop every time I install few apps. After wiping data, cache & dalvik It's OK again. But I want to install apps. Is it possible to fix it?

Last time My camera from Redmi note 4 Snapdragon was crushed so I ordered the new one with the same numbers. But It's not working, probably it's camera from 4x but everything fits well. Is anyone to help me and send camera files from note 4x rooted? I want to change it and hope everything will be working ok. Sensor working good when I install new camera for old in powered phone, but is problem with focus, and after restart phone with new camera, not working at all.. Help Me guys plz!

You have got a camera for the wrong type of cpu. It wont help even if you'll get the drivers for mediatek version of redmi note 4..

I don't know exactly how many pins because I have it in phone now, but connector is all the same like in old camera and fits perfect, and reflashed stock newest firmware but nothing.

How to flash using fastboot? I tried to use XiaoMi Flash with newest 9.2miui. Program recognized phone in fastboot mode , but don't see a rom in folder, and I can't flash.

Any working Gcam for MIUI 12?

So I updated my redmi 7a the other day, and now, it seems like all the gcams don't work anymore. When I open gcam, the others force shutdown themselves, while the others only shows black screens. Any help would be appreciated.

I've downloaded them and they both installed, but the thing is they only show black screen when I open them. Front cam show you your face then force shuts down when you press the shutter. Video seems to work, but it's not what I need. Got any fix or any more version that doesn't malfunction because of the problematic MIUI 12?

Thanks, I thought I saw a glimpse of hope but unfortunately I'm wrong. I've downloaded everything that has 2021 on the date, everything installed but to no avail it's all black screen. I even went and installed the 2020 and 2019 ones but nothing seems to work. Since upgrading, everything went to garbage. I'd appreciate if you let me know whenever there's a fix found.

I actually haven't unlocked my bootloader yet, my 7a is a chinese unit so I don't trust it enough to try other roms. The probability of it being bricked might be low but I don't trust this phone that much.

GCam 3.1 от ув. SerJo87 works great, results are much better than stock.
