Hi guys, i was using latest kalo ROM without any problem since yesterday, when i noticed that my notification led was red but i had no new notification, i also powered my phone off and also when my phone was turned off the led didn't turn off. The led turned off only when i removed the battery.
I tried everything, i reverted back to official 2.3.5, but the problem was still there, i also updated to official ics, but nothing...
Could someone help me? If anyone has any suggestion i would be really grateful =)
Maybe you burned your notification light? You could probably replace it.
By the way, this should go in Q and A
Edit: I thought it wouldn't turn off. Download root dim from the play market, Select other lights and scroll all the way down to red and select it. From there, try resetting it by turning it off and going back to system default. If that does not work just keep the led notification off.

I've tried to do what you told me, but it doesn't solve the problem... Thanks anyway =)
You're right, this thread would be in Q and A, if a modder could move it there
Do you think that could be a water damage?

It could be, in this days rained so much here where i live...
Because I read in some other threads with two different phones having the same issue, I think the one was sgs2...
So I suggest you flash an official ROM and go to warranty if you still have one...
There is more than one way you can receive water damage including humidity.

The problem is solved... I did nothing, it solved by itself, the led turned off and now works fine, everything now works fine, i don't know what it could be, it's a strange thing... anyway thanks to everybody who tried to help me =)
I've seen that a message pops up every time the flap cover is open (telling you to close it).
And just now I saw a YouTube video about the USB cover breaking on an S5 after only two months.
If this happens, would the message appear constantly or is there a way to turn it off in the settings?
For anyone interested, the YouTube video is from user adrianisen.

Message is independent of the USB cover status.

What does that mean exactly?
Pretty sure it doesn't have a way to tell if the cover is closed or not, it just pops up a reminder when disconnecting a cable

and when the phone is switched on.
So if the USB cover breaks in the future the message won't pop up constantly and only disconnecting the USB cable after charging?
Are you guys sure that the message doesn't pop in other circumstances?
Thanks.

Yup, forgot about that one. Sorry, I only had the stock rom for 2 hours after I got my S5, and the custom rom I'm running has the popup disabled, so there may be other triggers that I've forgotten about, but it DEFINITELY didn't pop up every time I opened the cover

This is your answer. It happens only once when the phone turns on from either powered on or restarted.

And what about when the screen is turned off and you turn it on again? Will the message pop up then too?
And also when you disconnect the USB cable too right?
all you need to know has been posted in the thread.

Oh, yeah. This one too, will pop up the warning.
My screen is shattered, but the phone turns on and it vibrates when I turn it off and plug in the charger. Battery lights are normal for charging. Goes from orange to green.
However, when I try to turn the phone on it vibrates once then the blue light starts to blink continuously for a long time. After about 10 minutes the blue light is gone but the back and menu buttons are lit up and stay lit. I can't tell if it has actually booted or not.
If I try to ADB into the phone while it's in this state I can see it listed but it shows as unauthorized.
Does anyone know if I can I revive my Note 3 by replacing the LCD and digitizer? Is there anyway I can test it to see if everything is working besides the screen? I don't want to waste the money unless I know that is the only problem. I would really like to fix it if possible.
There is absolutely no water damage, just a really bad fall.
Try a hard reset with the 3 buttons. If it stays the same then you have a broken phone.

Can you please elaborate. How do I perform the hard reset when I can't see anything on the screen? I know for a fact that the screen is done for. I just need to know if the main board is still salvageable by replacing the LCD and digitizer.

You can't do a hard reset without a screen as it involves booting into recovery, then navigating using volume keys. If you have a custom recovery installed then it's even riskier to try it without the screen. So don't try it.
I'm assuming that the phone doesn't show up as an MTP device when you connect it to a PC?

Thank you for understanding my poor explanation. Yes, you are correct. Phone does not show up as MTP device when connected to my computer anymore. Does that mean I should assume the worst?
Unfortunately, yes. Just a shattered screen wouldn't cause 10 minute long boots every time (blue light only blinks when booting up, at Samsung logo) and the absence of MTP (even with lockscreen password/PIN/pattern the device shows up as MTP but it doesn't show the data unless it's unlocked first). It seems that the logic board of the handset is damaged in some capacity so just replacing the screen and digitizer won't do the trick.

Then mtp won't work, even if the phone is okay. It doesn't connect unless you unlock the phone.

That makes sense! Is there anything I can do to find out for sure if the phone is just in a coma?
I had set a pattern lock so I assume I can't access through adb somehow, right?

Good idea. I'll have to find an mhl adapter and try it. Thank you
If your charging led and hard key lights blink, your phone is good. A display assembly replacement would help.
I received my Note 3 in this way (from a friend) and then I replaced the display and been using it for an year now
Yesterday, my screen turn off, or so i thought, there was a horizontal line on the top of the screen, and i saw it was the same color as the screen i was on. I immediately took off the battery and for a split second it worked before turning off. So i thought it was a low voltage problem, and let it charge overnight, and today it worked for 2 hours until it failed again. So.. if anyone knows how to repair this without replacing the entire screen, please let me know. i already checked if it was the conector, and it seems it isn't
If the screen itself is the problem then there is no way to fix it without replacing.

Hi,
It appears to me that it's some kind of problem with the screen as well, it doesn't seem to be changing the leds of the previous screen until it is out of power to keep them turned on. Unfortunately I'd guess the only solution is replacing screen.
All the best,

You might try changing the software, but it might be hard to do if the screen doesn't display anything in recovery or download mode.

nope, it doesn't, i was hoping it was a software issue, but i noticed that it didn't display anything in recovery or download, so i opened the phone and checked if the display connector wasn't passed correctly or something, but to my surprise it was correctly connected, i went and disconnected and reconnected the pin, but it didn't helped at all
Hi,
I just got my Galaxy S8, i've noticed some screen issue, especially in dark places or at night. The screen is showing weird color on the top. Check the pictures attached and let me know what do you think.
To check if you have the same issue with your phone, you need to increase the brightness to the max, turn of auto adjust brightness, and check your phone in a dark place
Erm
Just do a screen print and attach it.
takes few seconds on mobile to do.
dial *#0*# and do color tests, if it fails I would return it.
How can i show u the picture?
Hi
Green spot at top of screen
could he be referring to the iris scanner ?
Trev
No... these spot are showing on the screen starting from thr top
Upload the picture to a image hosting site and put the link in your post.

Same issue as the pic ? and can you tell me the source of the manufacture?
I had these for like 2 seconds when I just started setting up my phone, then I never saw it again.
So it might be a software image processing glitch.
Tried a factory reset / changing the color mode?
