It is the bug present in JVK & all other official beta ginger Roms. Hope they'll fix it in the final release.

It is a feature
Annoying feature
p.s It ain't a feature
lets see then its a bug r a feature
If you consider it a bug, use the CWM3-compatible zip in recovery to make it like it was in 2.1-2.2-2.2.1
Yoou can find the link to the file in my signature
I have done the backlit fix from your patch, thanks
Hello all my Nexus 4 stops playing a song sometimes and when I turn on the screen it "flickers" a lot also I am using a Lockscreen Pattern for security... when the song stops it would change to camera to music app in the lockscreen I really don't know how to explain it.. also I am using Poweramp and sometimes Google Play Music both have the same problem...
I am running 4.2.2 jelly bean anyone know how to fix this? also the screen will not respond...
I have a screenshot of it...
Its something like this..... thank you
Stock Jellybean on the N4, or a custom rom jellybean?
Were you able to get a logcat when it happens, might help some rom devs figure out why it's doing it. (if I had to make a guess, I'd say some kind of wake lock issue, but you'd think google play music would know better)

That is weird, guess you'll just need to pre-suffle a playlist I guess.
I used to get the visual glitches too until I installed dashclock with the music extension. Annoyingly it doesn't actually provide play/pause/skip functionality but it gets rid of the glitches and that's good enough for me since my headphones allow the rest. I never had the random stopping issue though. At least you've found a decent solution for now.

There is currently an issue on all lollipop ROMs pertaining to headsets that do not have microphones. When such a headphone is plugged in it either triggers a continuous loop of Google search prompts or a multitude of random screen touches. If you use headphones or any 3.5mm compliant headphone jack device, you may want to flash this till it is fixed from source.

IT WORKED!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH !!!!:good::laugh::highfive:
Cheers, also, why didn't you put it in themes & apps?
Noob
Sorry but how is the easiest way to flash this zip.
If I try with the defaut recovery from Cyanogen it gives me the E:No signature E:Verification failed errors.
And this recovery does not have the option to disable this check.
If I install another recovery may I loose the auto update feature from Cyanogen?
Thanks!

Well I thought it being a fix and all, that it wouldn't classify as an app or theme.

You can use ES file explorer or winrar on your desktop to extract the file inside of the zip. After which you can use es file explorer to manually copy paste the file to your system partition and then assign appropriate permissions.

I had the issue where plugging the headphones in launched the google voice search, but with this fix the icons on the homescreen get a white square behind them (guessing it's touchscreen issues). Any work around for this?
This is great, thanks!
However, anyone else now having issues with the YouTube app's play/pause buttons and seekbar not disappearing in fullscreen, or is it just me?

Seems to be a general issue, I will look into it asap.

This should not happen, as this fixes both the Google voice issue as well as the white box issue. Are you using a headset with a mic or a standard headphone?

May I have the model of the headphones/3.5 mm compliant device you are using. Have you tried flashings newer version of your ROM and manually pushing the file, as I think the is theost likely issue.

This is re-creatable usually through pausing a video and changing the quality (to 720p or above?) and doesn't seem to happen when not using headphones. Apologies for the lack of specifics, it's a bit finicky. Have since flashed two newer nightlies and still present.
EDIT - this can be temporarily fixable by turning the screen off and on again a few times...

Yeah it can be fixed by turning off the screen but it seems to just show up again when you go to watch another video, anyway I am testing a fix and so far it seems to be OK, I will upload it if everything is good

Ah amazing! Thanks again for your hard work
So, anyone tried this or know if it's even necessary in CM12.1?
I must admit I've flashed this fix on the last few nightlies without checking first if the bug is still present as I've seen nothing about it in the CM changelog.
For anyone who cares, this is still necessary with CM12.1...

No, it's not. I used CM12.1 (RR 5.4.5) and a pair of headphones without a microphone and never had this issue.

It doesn't affect ALL headphones, it never has. Still affects my non-microphone Shures that work on stock, after a full wipe and fresh install of CM12.1.
I'm still unsure if this is necessary, I have still not flashed a stock lollipop ftf and have the need to use this on newer cm based firmware's. I shall flash Lollipop and verify whether it is necessary.
after a long wait for lollipop (i mean after release)
a few days ago i created Pre rooted fw with PRF Creator and flashed it without wipe data
before that i had 157 rooted and my bootloader was unlocked and didn't had any TA backups
and now here is my small review
1-the UI and Animations are lovely i really love the new animations new lockscreen is defenetly better than the old one specialy with analog clock!
2-speed is increased (i kept all my data and apps) but it boots up faster, open apps faster, and more importantly the Previous apps stays open for longer time (on kit kat i was able to open 4-5 apps multitask between them now on LP i opened 6-7 apps and multi tasked between them)
3-THE SOUND!!
the hot thing about LP!
the speaker sound is less than KK which is bad very bad!on headphones i tried on stock MH750 and philips citiescape .....on first boot sound was flat..flat as paper!!no basses at all!
but on second boot everything went back to normal!
i didn't use any sound mod on KK it was clear enough for me and now its as good as it was
4-camera real time iso caused lag on it but overall the colors in pics are better now( i used drm hack Bionz is working just ok)
it boots faster now
5-back on Kk it had some delay to wake up but now it wakes up before you even know you pushed it
6-i've included the smart backlight and smart rotation and 4k in my zip they all work ok now i hardly suggest you to install them!
thats all that came to my head right now
thanks for reading

Tested it seems buggy on deodex rom. Tried it on odeX. The Dolby and Max Maxx is functional but sound enhancements not working at all.

Hi,
I have installed the latests CM 14 by grarak.
Since yesterday i'm trying tu use Google Allo. But it makes loud and ugly noises whenever I send or receive chat massages.
I already tried to reinstall the app, did wipe the caches. But the sound remains.
Does anybody have an idea to look for the cause of this problem?
Thanks!

Wow, that was a quick answer! Thanks!
Do you have any idea what causes this sound glitch?
Am I the only one?
But may be with the next complete wipe it will be gone...
Believe me, all is fine with your phone-ROM-combi
These sound should be...
Go into settings and deactivate it

Me too have same problem.
Google Allo also does this on cm14+ roms on OnePlus One. I think that it's missing a sound file or something at the rom level.
me too,annoying
Same problem over here...

I had the same problems with cm. But now I'm on dirty unicorns without these problems
Same problem on RR ROM. Doesn't happen on stock ROM.
