Hello guys,
On all launchers back button is visible on the home screen. Is there a way to adjust this?
On stock launcher back button shows up only if there is something to back. If you are in the app per example.
Thanks
Nope there is no current way to get rid of it. Any non-stock launcher currently, will have an always on back button due to how Google implemented it. IIRC it had something to do with it being a root level function kind of like the swipe in Google Now/Feed panel found on the stock launcher.

I am going to pick up a Nook Touch tomorrow as it looks like an amazing upgrade from my Kindle 3rd Generation especially once rooted. Reading some RSS feeds (preloaded via wifi) out in the sun will be great.
My question is, once you install an alternate launcher like ADW, does it stay the launcher even after rebooting? All the videos show launching apps via a PC which is not feasible in a real work scenario.
Also, how do you then run the stock B&N reader app? Does this just show up as an app that you can launch?
Thanks!
After I installed ADW. On reboot, the Nook asks which launcher you want to start in. Choose ADW. The problem is that once you go to the default Home screen, you can't get back to ADW.
A fix for this (which is what I did) was to install SoftKeys. Set up SoftKeys so that the SoftKeys Home screen goes to ADW. Then make sure that SoftKeys is accessible in the notification bar.
Now, whenever I'm back to B&N's crappy default home screen, I just click on the SoftKeys link in the notification bar, then use SofKeys Home button to take me back to ADW.
There is probably an easier way, but this works.
set ADW as your default launcher. also, using softkeys, set it up so that a hard press of the "n" button will just bring you to your home screen (adw).
you can access the nook's native files by pressing the 'arrow' button underneath your launcher.
AW Launcher
Install SoftKey, Under settings select run as service, and place it in the notification bar. this way even if you are in the B&N default screen you push the softkey home button and it allows you to go the AW launcher without the need to reboot.
So I liked it when the home screen didn't auto-rotate, now with the recent update it auto-rotates. Is there any way to revert back to where only the Home screen did not auto-rotate?
I’m not talking about the locking the rotate function as this locks it for everything not just the home screen, I want to restore the original function that only locked the home screen in portrait mode and auto-rotated to landscape when using any other apps such as the browser and what not.
Thanks!

An option would be to install a launcher like apex, which is nearly the same as stock but with a few tweaks. Then force portrait orientation in its settings. This is what I have done
Holo launcher or trebuchet are more similar to stock launcher and have the possibility to disable auto-rotation

Thanks guys. So I take it there is no way to revert the default launcher back to the way it was? What a bummer.
Nova launcher seems to be the only one that works on JB but its based on the ICS launcher and not JB. Not really a solution.

All of these launchers are optimized to run with JB, you can feel comfortable, if you want to return to the original home just go to settings-applications then open the launcher that you decided to use and press the button "delete default"
I've tried leveraging Google-fu to answer this question but I haven't had any definitive answers.
I have HD Widgets and the Google Search widget on my one and only home screen. Occasionally when unlocking or pressing the home button the widgets will flicker and then come back.
This happens more often when coming back to the home screen from a stock app (messaging, phone, etc.).
I just wanted to see if any one else has experienced this and if there are any possible ideas for fixes floating around.
For clarification - I have the stock MF3 firmware, rooted. I am running Apex Launcher and Widgetlocker. I have the option to keep Apex in memory checked. I have tried lowering the OOM of HD Widgets and Apex with RomToolbox, but of course without a script the value will not stay locked in at -17 so I really don't know if that makes a difference.
EDIT: Problem doesn't appear after latest update. I have 'keep in memory' enabled and it seems to be working.
I was testing some launcher (Smart Launcher 3 Pro) and it is permanently showing the home buttons.
I disabled it on the Hide Home Button setting, but after removing the app the home buttons are permanently showing on my stock launcher.
What am I missing, how do I revert it to normal?
I've practically enabled hide home button on every app but its stuck on my stock launcher

I'm sorry I don't understand your question. Are you trying to get rid of your navigation bar? Or just on certain app?
Let me rephrase it.
I was testing a downloaded launcher which has the home buttons permanently shown.
After uninstalling and reverting to the stock launcher, the home buttons were stuck to being shown permanently.
Im talking about home button on the launcher not on apps
I even tried hiding all the home buttons on all apps, but since my issue is with my stock launcher. It didn't work

You can't hide the home buttons on stock launcher.

Hey so the Android Pie recents is total utter crap. Is there an easy way to get an alternate recents? Maybe a build.prop edit? I'm rooted Btw so can try many a thing. Thanks!
P.S. Gonna probably go back to buttons too because the gesture for recents drives me nuts.
I would like to know also, but I'm not rooted. The scrolling in it is terrible. If i swipe too fast, it goes through several windows at once. If i scroll too slowly, it bounces the same window back in. I can't use navigation bar because i use long-press of home button to turn off screen.
If you guys are rooted, install a second launcher and Freeze the Oneplus Launcher. You will be back to the old recent. Enable the buttons as well.

It's a pie feature that is built in in the default launcher
On the odd occasion a launcher can go whack, if you have another it will automatically go to it or bring you a toast to go to it.It's a rare occurrence but for this reason it's good to always have two functioning launchers, you don't need to set the spare up, it's just there for an emergency till you can get home or whatever and figure out why your launcher is hung. I've diabled the stock launcher myself and use Action but picked up a spare on the play store just in case.
