does it support VoLTE?
This may be a stupid question, but is there a difference in indian official and chinese official roms? (besides the differences in versions numbers). Do the indian roms come with indian apps instead of chinese?
I assume the chinese 26S rom requires a rooted phone and TWRP. What happens if I try to update an unrooted phone with official recovery with that rom, by renaming it update.zip and puting it in the internal storage?
In an official post on miui forums, the release date for the first batch of MIUI 9 is set on August 11th. The first batch includes RN4 and Mi6. RN3 SD (kenzo and kate) is included in the third batch but no specific date is provided in the post. RN3 MTK is not listed for MIUI 9 update, as of now. Also, it has not been specified, if the android version too will be upgraded with this update or just the MIUI. In the post, some user has commented about the release to be sometime in late September, this can't be verified though. Hopefully, we will see our device to be running soon on MIUI 9 with Nougat.
From the post-
The MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM is arriving this Friday! The very first batch of supported devices for MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM will be Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm / Redmi Note 4X and Mi 6.
The second batch of supported devices for MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM will be including Mi MIX / Mi Note 2 / Mi 5 / Mi 5s / Mi 5s Plus / Mi Max 2 / Mi Max / Redmi 4/4X. Please stay tuned for further notice of the release date.
The third batch of supported devices for MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM will be including Redmi 2 / Redmi 2 Prime / Mi 3 / Mi 4 / Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm / Redmi Note 3 Special Edition / Redmi Note 4 MTK / Mi 4i / Redmi Note 2 / Redmi Note Prime / Mi 2/2S / Mi Note / Redmi 3/Prime / Redmi 3S/Prime / Redmi 4A. Please stay tuned for further notice of the release date.

There's nothing to indicate that MIUI 9 for out devices will be Marshmallow. You posted the link to the MIUI 9 Dev ROM, not the Global Beta ROM which does not indicate the RN3 will be any different.
@MikeyLee
As I already stated RN3 is not expected to get MIUI 9 Nougat roms!
Xiaomi Redmi devices generally only get 1 android version upgrade, which this device has already got with Marshmallow!
Edit: - Mi devices are reported to get at least 2 android version updates!
There is general consensus in the community of that fact. Resulting in the MIUI 9 version we will get will be Marshmallow based with back-ported N and maybe O features.
This discussion has already occurred here!
[MIUI] Xiaomi Mi 2/2S Confirmed to Receive MIUI 9 Update!
Currently on lollipop 5.0, so it definitely not getting nougat based MIUI 9!
Because there is no stable xposed for nougat yet, I will be glad if it is marshmallow based, since we will still get security patches.
As for linking to China Developer post, which is more than likely to get MIUI 9 before Global Developer.
The Redmi Note 3 SD came out 2016 February, Marshmallow was already about 4 months old, the device should of shipped with Marshmallow anyway stupid it came with Lollipop which was already over a year old, having no official Nougat update would massively put me off of Xiaomi, oh wait already put off with their incredibly slow updates and horrible MIUI
@LukeyWolf I agree with you it should have been released with Marshmallow but that is what you get with Budget category phones!

Xiaomi.eu is a custom ROM based on MIUI. Xiaomi.eu roms started off as a way to get a more "European" experience out of MIUI, which was predominantly Chinese. This involved better localization for non-Chinese languages, and making changes to make MIUI more global in nature. Xiaomi.eu is a custom rom, and as such, contains a fair few tweaks over the Official Global Stable. Ofcourse, due to its unofficial nature, you can not complain about Xiaomi.eu to Xiaomi.

All Xiaomi users suffer from a single problem, Firmware update. As there are many devices with no one to provide the newest firmware update every single release. And also developers who provide updates to devices may forget or be busy sometimes, so releases are provided later. Here is my simple solution:

A set of various script that automatically generates Xiaomi firmware flashable zip files every MIUI new update!
My scripts download MIUI official ROMs, both Developer and Stable, Global and China, extracts the firmware-update folder, generates firmware flashable zip with auto-written "updater-script", and uploads them automatically to many servers.
The scripts are completely automated, running on a Linux server every six hours.
Note:
Name's will be in the following manner:
fw_miui_HM5Plus_*.zip is Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus (vince) China firmware
fw_miui_HM5PlusGlobal_*.zip is Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus (vince) Global firmware
DownloadsYou can get updates always from various mirrors available on the website:

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Firmware? Is it a full ROM or OTA package?
Firmware is not a ROM nor OTA Package, it's a set of low-level drivers which helps the operating system do whatever it wants to do. It includes various things like Modem, Bluetooth, Bootloader, DSP and etc.
Why should I update the Firmware?
Firmware is provided from Xiaomi directly, and there are no sources for it to let developers build and edit it on their own like custom ROMs, so if you want to keep your device up to date always update your firmware!
Do I need updating the Firmware If I'm MIUI official or custom ROM user?
No, MIUI ROMs contain the firmware-update package which I extract and provide here.
What are the supported devices?
All Snapdragon and MTK devices including China-only devices.
Check the full devices list here
How to update firmware?
1- Download the package you want to flash. IT MUST BE NAMED WITH THE SAME CODENAME OF YOUR DEVICE.
2- Flash it using TWRP or any custom recovery. There's no need to wipe/format anything before or after the installation.
How to check the updated firmware?
Usually, the modem gets updated with newer firmware, you can check it in Settings > About > Baseband.

This is not the right place to post!
I think there's a thread in general section already.
If i may suggest:
1. Change log
2. Keep the update on the first post. i.e. it is easier to refer all the latest update in one place.
Aprreciate your work. Keep it up.

Your suggestions are welcome, but:
OP already has a static link to all builds so you just click and check latest.
For changelogs, I can't help because this firmware is directly taken from Official ROMs, and there's no changelogs for it
Any news about 86006 error

I am on this construction and I would like to try to install Unofficial Lineage, I read that I have to install even the oldest firmware before and that I can then restore with updated firmware. Where can I find the one currently installed on my phone in order to restore it?
I can not find in the front page link a little help would be welcome thanks.
Can I use this?

Differences of MIUI Stable & Weekly Beta
MIUI Weekly Beta - is the most relevant, innovative and up-to-date, as it receives all the innovations first. This firmware is was created for advanced users to test innovations. It is updated every week, usually on Friday, except for Chinese holidays and the presence of serious bugs, when developers delay the release of the update. However, do not be afraid, if you run into a mistake, most likely, next Friday it will be eliminated. And many users use the weekly firmware without worrying about bugs. The release name of the development firmware is the date of its release. For example, the latest firmware is now called MIUI 12 20.10.15, which means that it was released on October 15, 2020. The first figure is the year, the second is the month, the third is the day.
MIUI Stable - is the main assembly and is a kind of standard: it is stable, all functions are debugged and optimized in it, all the bugs that are found in the weekly firmware are fixed. It is recommended to install it, if you do not seek all the innovations and related bugs, This firmware not contains latest features as MIUI weekly beta. but you need a stable system without surprises. The name of stable firmware versions is not tied to the release date, but to the accumulated updates, so it is updated irregularly. Updates can come just in two weeks, and every three months.
Clean flash is recommended. If you move between stable and beta firmware.
