Has anybody successfully found a working google/pixel cam port for Exynos models? Please do share. Everything I'm downloading has the Camera has Stopped error.
+1 on this for snapdragon

Here is a link where you can find the best Camera mods for all the phones, use the Galaxy S9's sense Note 9 is not added yet, there is for the Snapdragon and Exynos version.
I tested the Exynos and works fine
Sorry, i am very noob here. Does this ACTUALLY IMPROVE overall photo quality? Does it have bugs? Would my photos magically disappear if i use a custom app?

Tried it. Still very unstable. Thanks though. I hope they improve this
There's a snapdragon version link in the first post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/themes/gcam-port-galaxy-s9-s9-t3763849
I've tried it on my Note 9 snapdragon version and it works for the front and back camera, but portrait mode doesn't work on either front or back (freezes up). It does seem quicker than the Gcam mod I had on my S8+, but that could be the snapdragon processor and 8gb or RAM I have...
It's also unstable as I tried to adjust one setting (re-enabling camera shutter sound) and it totally crashed the app and I had to uninstall and re-install, so best not to play with any settings on this version

I installed this on my NOTE 9 and everything works. I can even get AR Stickers to work - and take photos of them - but I can't take videos with AR Stickers - the video becomes massively grainy and you can't see anything - did you try and have any luck with that?

No, I just downloaded them from the OP - once downloaded I clicked and installed. Then I downloaded AR Core from GOOGLe PLay.
Like I said they work ok for taking photos - but not for videos -

I got the AR Stickers working and they worked for videos, after I recorded the video, I selected the video (bottom right corner) to view, at first it pops up very grainy and closes, then I open it again and it plays fine.
Are Gcam Ports always that slow to take the pic/process?? First Samsung since Note 4 so all new to me.... have had pixel and 2xl the last 2 years so i see how fast they do it just wondering if it gets better or not

Portrait mode does work - with a very slight lag but not the huge lag it used to have on my S9 Plus. As for which version - I flashed the one that was for the S9+ - (i don't recall the exact lable or even the link - I got there thru the link earlier in this thread from the person who first stated they had installed and got it working on the Note 9. it is important to download the setup screen shots and be sure to get settings setup exactly like those screen shots show.
Good Luck

A developer IDan is working on a Google Camera port for exynos version for the S9 and Note9. Currently using his latest V0.4 and HDR+ on back camera works good, everyone should try it and you guys should know hes just starting, so in time everything should be working.
Also any donations to him are welcomed.
Details are richer and colors are more natural compared to stock photos.
Also _______
Can the topic name be changed to Google Camera Port for Exynos model.

If you could find the settings screenshot that would be great. I couldn't find them and the gcam on my Note 9 is unstable and some do portrait...
Guys, im not sure if you realize, Gcam wouldnt take advantage of the second camera for low light capability. I've tested via HDR and the noise was just too much. Comparing to Samsung which could produce a good low light picture without much noises generated.

So I had a Moto Z before and came across this thread.. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/themes/camera-app-hdr-enabled-t3543988. The app did work, allowing for HDR+ mode flawlessly, so I thought I tried it for the S8. Miraculously it worked ONCE, then froze and I couldn't even use the stock camera app until I rebooted. Can a developer tinker into this app to see why it does not work stable enough for the S8? It would be amazing to get HDR+ for the S8 because Samsung's algorithm is not exactly up to par, it tends to over expose the picture a lot in bright daylight, and under expose in cloudy conditions.

I would like that too! Miss my pixel phone's camera
Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G950F met Tapatalk
Very much the same here. My former Pixel (GF stole it from me ) just took way better pictures. I'm pretty sure the HDR+ mode would lift the S8 into another class.
Yes the Samsung camera app tends to over expose a lot in bright daylight with hdr, very disapointing it could make some good pictues
Well for people with a snapdragon S8

Hope that they will port it to Samsung own processor too...
Yeah I'd really like hdr+ on my exynos model

Modded Google camera HDR+ worked fine on my s8+. The auto focus was buggy though. Sometimes it won't focus unless I tap the screen. Other than that it works fine.

you physically cant. It requires a part inside of the Snapdragon 820+ CPU. I forget the name of it.
Anybody trie dit on their snapdragon S8+ (Or S8)?
I doubt it will make an amazing difference, since the S8 is already quite good in that department but that could still be interesting. I suppose that on one hand you have Google's superior algorithms, on the other hand they are not fitted to S8 hardware and you probably lose OIS....

HDR+ works? I would be quite surprised.
Yes, it works. I'm not sure how "proper" (because I can not say that pictures are masterpieces) it works, but I can enable that feature, take shot, wait a bit ("hdr processing" message) and get slightly different photo. Process is same as on pixel/nexus. App is stable, no crashes.
Btw, on hdr+ photo info it states that photo is made on nexus 6, and on regular shots in same app - galaxy s8+

I have it and it works well. Google's processing has added a tiny bit more noise compared to Samsung but Google's colors are more realistic (which I prefer) while Samsung's are much too bright/vibrant

I noticed a more noisy image. I dont think its preferable.
My own opinion is that the Hdr is not working properly with this google camera.
You who had the Nexus phone could you take a photo and verify the noise?

It's really not that bad. I could attach comparison photos if you want.
Edit: I'm also using the updated mod (noise reduction) that allows 1080p60fps video
Edit 2: Took some more photos. In daylight to medium/dark lighting, Google's camera seems to take better pictures. I noticed that Google is able to add more detail to the clouds when contrasted with ex: large buildings/trees while Samsung's camera seems to overexpose images and leave the sky almost white.
But for nighttime photos, Google's camera definitely has much more noise. I guess it's a trade off.
Edit 3: Took even more photos with many different lighting/contrasts. Not sure which app I like the best. Sometimes Samsung photos are too bright (but can be partially fixed by darkening the photo) and sometimes the colors seem pretty natural. Samsung's camera has consistently sharper photos than Google. Also with higher contrast, the sky using Google camera is an unaturally deep blue, making the image look artifical/fake.
tested on my S8plus exynos.... But noisy

Ok thanks for the comparison. Good to know. Im not sarcastic.
What is more interesting yet is differance betwean Google Camera on nexus vs google camera on the s8+
If anybody could take identical pix on nexus vs s8+ and see if the photo from nexus have the same noisines as our s8+ have.

As far as I understand there are several versions, using different versions of the Google algos (Nexus 6, 5X, Pixel have different processing due to different HW)
This version works on my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Exynos version.. can you tell me where to find the follow up for this version in case there is an update .. I tried more than 50 versions of this application this is the first one to be working on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Exynos version thanks a lot

Most of the version are for Snapdragon . This is the only working version I found for Exynos .. now just we have to find a version which reduces notice and implements the HDR+ property
Hi guy's
I had to reset my phone because of the moisture detection message error (don't even ask nightmare)
Anyways I had the excellent ORIGINAL HDR + camera app, and loved it used it for most of my pictures but cannot find it now! I've tried seriously about 100 version from here of new modded ones but most crash and don't work or the ones that do don't get close to the over egged pictures I use to love using the original. The one I had official all I can remember is it had the option to turn on or off HDR+ mode lots of the original I've tried don't seem to have that option in top settings bar, also the app logo was the black one with blue camera centre if you get me.
Just checked on my photos I uploaded to Google photos on my lost Google camera app and is as below info

Outside picture effects on HDR on google camera were awesome for me
You know GCam is based on algorithm learning... In a day or 2 u will see the result... Also processing time decrease if u use zsl.
Hello,
I would like to ask if anyone has encountered the following issue:
When I try to make night photos with light gathering in Pro mode, the camera gathers too much light. Now I try the following settings: WB - Auto; Focus Auto/100; Shutter 4/8/16 seconds; ISO 100 in 48 MP mode. Now what I get with this configuration is too much light absorption. Pictures get really yellow and bright around any light sources. This makes taking pictures of car taillight trail for example impossible.
Now before you say to try different settings - I have. I also have the PRO version of the phone, and pictures are being way way better with the exact same settings. I will upload some examples as soon as I have them on my PC.
Has anyone encountered such an issue with the stock cam app?? Any way to fix it?? Any better cam app that might help out?? Can this be a faulty camera all together and should I contact the seller? (phone bought from China so you can figure how that will go).
Thank you very much in advance

but i used gcam and the camera of lightroom for normal usage and its been good so far
the images of stock camera felt lil bit unnatural to me
yeah! gcam and camera of lightroom would be good
the video recording was too much annoying for me mainly for the crop and noise in the video
and ive been using open camera for video recording which is producin 100 times better result than stock one

Thank you very much. Do I need the phone rooted to use those??Also can you provide links for the gcam / opencamera video recording apps, as well as any configuration you find good?
It just seems strange that 2 phones with presumably same sensor, can make such different photos with the same settings. Yes one is RN7 and the other is RN7P, but still they should have identical cameras.

It just seems strange that 2 phones with presumably same sensor, can make such different photos with the same settings. Yes one is RN7 and the other is RN7P, but still they should have identical cameras.

that is fundamentally incorrect. it's almost as if saying all 12mp sensors on every mainstream phone out there should be same as they output the same 12mp images.
rn7 has samsung isocell gm-1 sensor, which is unproven compared to the sony imx586 on the rn7p. there will be differences for sure.

Hmmm I thought both versions of the phones use the same Sony sensor. Was I wrong in assuming that? I'm pretty sure that's what I've red in the review of the phone.

china rn7, global rn7 and indian rn7s are the same.
Hi Note9 fam. I was contemplating selling my Note9 because GCam had stopped working since Android 10. But luckily, I've found a stable version (I can't stand the performance and quality of the stock Samsung camera).
PixelCam_7.3_V3.0 by jairo_rossi (https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1124/). The link was found originally from this list (https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/).
I tried about 9-10 different modded versions and this was by far the most stable. I'll list out below what works and does not work based on my testing. All you need to do is download the APK and install it. No other tweaks/mods required. I'm using an unrooted Note9 128gb, Snapdragon variant.
What works:
1. Photography (regular and portrait; both selfie and back cameras work flawlessly)
2. Videography (both selfie and back camera works flawlessly)
3. Night Sight (tried it in my room with all doors and windows closed) *Astrophotography is included but I have't had a chance to test it out
4. Panorama
5. Time lapse video
What does not work:
1. *Photos in 16:9 ratio (will force close and you won't be able to reopen unless you clear data/cache*
2. Slow Mo video (will force close but app will relaunch)
3. Preview after taking a photo (this will ONLY work if you have Google Photos; if you use the Samsung Gallery or any 3rd party gallery app, previewing after taking a photo does not work)
Hope that helps! Please feel free to add in your experience. All credit goes to jairo_rossi for giving all Note9 users a stable GCam version for Android 10!
Which of them in particular. They ate about six gcams of different dates. And can it work on os9 of note 9?
I've been using GCam version MGC_6.1.021_BSG_A on my Note9 snapdragon for well over a year and it takes considerably better pics than the stock camera.
Is this version a lot better than the Pixel 3 ports like the one I've been using?
Latest Urnyx05 version works great.. but astrophotograhy isnt working
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfil...5-v1.7-fix.apk
Can someone else try it?
Hello, testing jairo_rossi last update pixelcam plus 1.1 from 05/23
So far this is the best gcam for note 9 snapdragon i have tested.
In android 10, stock samsung camera got a huge improvement, very good night pics, compared to stock camera android 9. In pie, almost any gcam was better than stock. Now not any gcam is better than stock, most of the variants you got a very pixelated night pics, so gcam from jairo_rossi is a very very good! Some pics are a little dark vs stock, this can be improved.
Testig Astrophotography this night.

When enabled, the sky pics get very very pixelated, normal night shot is better. This can be by the high ISO used. May in the next update this can be improved.

doesn't work for me... The only one that works is the latest cam plus v1.1. Although it works it is quite slow and I have N960U(snapdragon)

That sucks I was looking for this to work
Try lastest Urnyx05.
I'm testing Urnyx now.
Jairovrossi is working in my note 9. Snapdragon, android 10. If your device is exynos Look for Exynos version. If you have android 9, look for a version that works in pie.
I haven’t tried Astrophotography but everything in my original post still stands for the version I downloaded, even after 2 software updates for the Note9. The stock camera quality is still subpar after the Android 10 update so GCam is a must have for me.

For normal pics?
I just testing night sight. Last version of jairorossi pixelcamplus v2.0 is much better, but stock night shot is still very very good, i found gcam is just a little better. Tomorrow going to test normal pics.
Some samples day outside, and night shot inside.
Stock night shot is very goog in android 10, almost no diferences, and in some shots quality is not subpar.

Which gcam are you using (dev, and ver.)? Also, are you using a config for the note 9?
Hello fellas. I, as many of you, wasn't ready to give up on the gcam port for this device, so I went looking for one of the modders that hasn't let me down on these matters.
This is the version I'm using (gcam 7.3) from Arnova8G2, and the only thing missing is the astrophotography. Aside from that it works great, even the slow mo, portraits and night sight.
Cheers mates.
I want a supper camera
FYI. I have an SM-N960U with U1 stock ROM flashed onto it. This camera app opens then crashes.
i got this GCAM APK And the night sight is the same as the night mode on Samsung Stock. Their is more noise on the GCAM And Astrophotography makes no difference. anyway to fix this
