Hello.
I got a strange signal issue with my Universal. The phone will only connect to the cellphone network every now and then. GSM and UMTS alike.
I've tried a few different SIMs, most of them won't change anything. Had one that worked fine (not my sim, and costly plan).
What happened was the following: Phone was working for forever, when the provider updated the sim. The phone wanted to reboot, so I did, and the problem started. I contacted a the service provider, and they had no clue, so I contacted HTCs workshop here. They told me that they had indeed seen this before, and that they had solved it by "ordering 3G compatible SIMs", so I did. Nothing changed.
After this, I remembered that I had another sim (same provider), that was not updated yet. I put that sim into the phone, and once again the phone was connected, and working fine for 2 days, when the update came again. After restart, same issue.
I've tried updating the radio and so on, but nothing changed.
Now, I haven't managed to figure out any more, and now wonder if anybody here has experienced anything similar or know anything about it.
I kind of doubt that it's the hardware, as the non-udated sim worked, but the updated ones don't. That is also supported by that sim that actually worked. (I asked what was special about that sim, nothing).
Any tips?
I recently bought a used Jasjar, and I have similar trouble. I think it's because the GSM frequency band used by the Jasjar (I think it's 850MHz/1900MHz) is not as prevalent here in the US.. I assume there are fewer towers in my area that support this frequency band. The Jasjar was intended for non-US markets, I think. As I drive around town, there are certain spots where I lose my signal completely.... which never happened with my previous phone (an HTC Wizard, which uses a different, "more prevalent in America" GSM frequency band).
The new SIM's you are using, probably point your phone to a newer network (a different set of cell towers/radios), which doesn't support these frequencies as well.
That is correct, Universal will only work on 3G in Europe or Asia.
For America only in GSM bands
Europe
I forgot to actually mention that I'm in Europe.
Won't give up before I figure this out. Love the phone.

I'm no cell phone expert, but the SIM is just a memory chip with info on it. It has nothing to do with the signal quality or radio in your phone.
Inside the SIM's memory is a serial # and some info about which networks it can connect to.
So, I am guessing your new SIM's are pointing your phone to a different network, that does not use the same GSM frequencies the Jasjar uses. Or, perhaps your provider has swapped out the radios in your nearby cell towers for "newer" radios that don't support the Jasjar's frequencies. Does your phone work in other parts of town?

Yeah, I was thinking the same when this happened, but no one changed any equipment here. Both providers run with the same equipment, and is the same as when it worked. Got that confirmed
same problem to me!
YEah! I have the answer, Its about the channels of signal transmission, The Unis are old devices, need a high channel spectrum in the GSM signal, the new devices are more faster DSP´s in their CPUs and the spectrum of the GSM signal service scan load more devices with less channel in use (more cheaper and more services) The UNI is an old device now you may need to accept that need more channels to work in a full capacity of signal, sorry!! UNI´s and other old devices soon gonna useless
My 32Gb Aluminium 6P had cellular connectivity issues right out of the box. But i did not discover it until 2 days later since i was on T-Mobile Wifi Calling network which was working fine.
I noticed the issue when I stepped out of my house and the phone would refuse to get any cellular reception whatsoever. I had to reboot it multiple times and search network manually for it to detect reception. And when it did (which did not last for long), it woudnt connect to LTE data, just an E/G/H or nothing.
Due to the fact that the phone desperately trying to detect reception all the time, the battery life was absolutely terrible and also caused a lot of heating.
Called up Google Support and they have issued a replacement 6P which i hope wont have any issues. :fingers-crossed:
Anybody else has a similar issue?
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a LG G2 D802 16GB from Amazon. Everything is working good, I only have one huge issue: the network... Every time the phone connects to 3G, it stays strong for a few minutes then the signal quality goes down until it disconnects and falls back to EDGE, which is very slow.
I'm on AT&T in the US. I bought the international one because I'm coming back to France in a few months. I had no problems with my Galaxy Note n7000 to connect to H+ before, and they share the same 3G bands. Both phones are running CM13.
I tried changing the SIM, flashing an older baseband, opening up the phone to try to improve the antenna contacts, nothing has fixed the issue. I have no problems with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS. I'm downloading a stock ROM to test it right now.
Should I change the speaker + antenna assembly? If I understood correctly this is where the mobile antenna is. Thank you.
I opened my phone again and used a multimeter. The black and white antenna connectors are good and the speaker/antenna assembly looks good too, what could be the issue?
i have a inetrnational d802 version too running on cm 12.1. Try typing *#*#4636#*#* in dialer and from there phone info or something(im from estonia, so mine is telefoniteave) its the first choice. From there, select network type lte/wcdma.
Its the only fix that i have found so far, but you will have to do it every time you restart your phone.
Hi guys,
i need an help.
After i changed my touchscreen+frame with an aftermarket part, my huawei p8 lite can't find 3G network operator. Detect just 4G band but can't lock it.
Any way to troubleshoot?
After i pressed with finger on down-left point of antenna appears 3G operator and lock for some time, but after i left it don't work anymore. Looks like some point of antenna is not connecting good, i tried to lift the copper pins that touch with antenna but without results.
Have a nice day!

Wi-fi Working good
Hey guys,
I've been using my Note 4 for a couple years and it was running smoothly before but now it started showing issue, I hope y'all can help me with these problems..
Problem 1: Dual-Band WiFi Connectivity Issue
My N910G could not connect or even find any 5GHz frequency WiFi connection(neither my home WiFi nor the others),
but it shows no issue connecting the 2.5GHz frequency. My home router is working perfectly fine and my other devices which supports 5Ghz band have no issues connecting to my home router so I don't think this is the router at fault. I've tried reset my N910G to factory setting, at the setup it miraculously connect to the 5GHz band without a problem but as soon as I turn the WiFi off or leave it after a while, it disconnected and it does not show any 5GHz after that.
Problem 2: N910G Poor Cell Signal Strength
Okay, now this is a bit tricky. Recently, I changed to a new cell company and sign up for a postpaid package with LTE data only, the sim card is new but as soon as I insert it into my N910G and reboot it. The signal strength of my phone only range from 0 to 2(which is from -80dBm and above) and rarely reaches 4 or 5(highest) but I still can connect to the 4G network, it's just the signal is very poor. At first, I thought it was the sim card at fault but I tried trying it out on another phone and it works just fine.
Can someone help me out with these two problems? Is it because of faulty hardware or software? Does flashing a new custom rom helps to solve these problems?
i have same proplem with 910f is reading sim card and ther'es no signal :'(

I know right. It's very frustrating.. :crying: My one can't even use 5GHz WiFi..
