I was on Renovate Ice 11.1 when suddenly i can't pull down the notification bar in portrait mode.
when i flip the phone on the side to landscape mode, it works pulling down from the long side of the phone.
But, when the phone it locked, this works just fine in portrait mode.
I've tried the *#0*# and the phone fails the touch test. I cant make it green on the top of my screen.
This is pretty weird, because, when the phone is locked, this works just fine, so the touch part on the top of the screen is good.
I've tried dirty flashing the Renovate 11.1 ROM, with no success, I've tried a clean flash with the 12.0 ROM, with no success, and I've downloaded the original ROM from Sammobile and Odin'ed on to my phone, but still the same problem.
If, the touch screen fails the "touch test", why does it work when the phone is locked?
Any good theories or suggestions?

Need help/advice.
I flashed from stock rotos rom jme. I had problem with flashing. Things like windows not recognising tab in download mode. Several times failed flashing in midle of flash process. At the end I flashed succesfully. And things are working normaly. But when I switch off and then on. I get at&t logo and then black screen, i get sound from samsung logo but still black screen. Buttons on/off the backlight few times and still black screen. Then I press sleep then wake and i get straight the locking screen and all fine till next boot.
It looks like the boot part does not initialize the screen propely as its has a white line across when its black.
And in recovery i cant see what I am selecting.
Any ideas?
update:
sys73r pointed me to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899196. I will test that after I solve my unstable USB connection. As flasshing boot with usb problem smells like brick factory.

The fix was already posted.
I rooted my phone and installed TWRP. I can flash MicroMod777's Extreme 1.0 ROM and it runs fine. However, if I try to install Blisspop, when it reboots after install, after the LG logo the screen turns black and stays black. If I press the volume buttons and blindly tap the screen, it makes sounds that suggests it booted fine and is on a setup screen, but I cannot actually see anything.
Anyone seen anything like this? Any ideas on how to fix this?
E: Forgot to mention, my model is a D801, which Blisspop afaik is compatible with.

I'll try to give as much details as i can. As tittle says my phone just stopped working properly. I haven't touched it before that happend. No root, no custom stocks. I used it as I got it. Everything worked perfectly fine, untill now. Phone boots up in download mode but not in recovery mode. Safe mode is not an option because I always get static snowing screen. When it also reboots, most of the time there is static snowing after that. I have no idea what to do. I've even tried to press it around the pulse sensor with no results.
I tried to fix it by myself by flashing firmware using odin, then using Samsung Smart Switch. I also tried repartition but to no avail. Do you have any ideas what could fix it? Is it possible? Cheers
My Friend gave me an S5 to fix. When you turned it on it would give some message about not loading the OS. I downloaded Odin and what I believe is the correct stock ROM SM-G900F O2 UK.
I managed to install the ROM fine however the screen has totally died. The phone wasn't dropped or anything. I can boot into Recovery and into the OS. Pressing the home button 3 times gives me audio description of the OS.
The screen does not even turn on to show the boot logo. I tried reinstalling the ROM (I had to get into recovery blind) but no joy. It's like a hardware issue however that seems too much of a co-incidence to have had it happen at the same time as flashing the ROM. The colour LED lights up and the side buttons light and vibrate.
Any ideas how to fix? All the blank screen stuff I've found via google the boot logo still shows.

im betting he's referring to the capacitive buttons flanking the home button
Yeah I'm sure on the the phone is a G900F, I'm referring the side buttons. Any ideas? Can a ROM flash kill the screen totally?
Hello today a screen replacement i ordered in aliexpress arrived and i did change it carefully (i did this process 2 times 1 in my phone and another in a cousin mi a1. No problems).
The thing is... after this i turn on the phone and the screen turns on but only until rom starts to load and then it comes black as if it wasn't turn on. The screen turns on also in fastboot mode but instantly shutdown when entering to recovery mode or normal boot as i said. The phone is working properly the rom loads and there is notification sounds and touch is working too.
If anyone can help me please. The only thing i can thing of is that the screen came with some strange malfunction.
EDIT: I flashed stock rom with flash_all and got the screen and everything working fine. I then tried again to flash a custom rom as i had before and screen failed to turn on again. Then i flashed stock kernel just to try if was it the cause and after this screen worked fine again but i lost wifi and probably there is other issues because of the stock kernel on a custom rom. I don't know if it may be because a different display driver or a kernel setting that may cause this malfunction. Hope someone can help me to solve this as i really want to use a custom rom.
