Hi!
I have a Samsung S8 G950W snapdragon running Android 8.0.0 latest build BRF5.
The problem is whenever I do some intense task like as playing PUBG or some power-hungry game the phone gets warm and then it crashes. Crashes means it just goes black (Straight turn off no Samsung Logo that we usually get when turning off phone manuallly).
So, when I turn it off right after I keeps crashing. The only solution is to wait for 5-10 minutes then start phone, let it stay locked for 2-3 minutes then unlock and use with low brightness along data or WiFi off. Then after use of 10-15 minutes I can use it normally with data or wifi on.
I'm getting this issue after Oreo update, never had anything like that before on Nougat.
My question is
Is anyone having or facing the same issue or is that me? Was someone able to solve this problem and find real reason behind this? Can it be an hardware issue or software glitch?
What I tried:
I have already tried several things before asking here,
1: I uninstalled many apps which I thought could be real reason for that.
2: I soft reset phone
3: I tried factory reset too (removing everything from internal storage)
4: Also tried formatting sdcard
I am running this phone without any modification. It is stock android.
If anyone has any solution kindly tell me!

hey guys
was using my nexus 4 5.0.1 (stock, bootloader unlocked, not rooted) with no issues this morning. then suddenly i can launch google music. the app launches and i get a white screen with nothing on it. so eventually the app crashes. then i try launching messenger, good play, and many other apps with the same result. my phone begins to get very slow and laggy, nearly non responsive. i restart my phone and i get no service. restart my phone again and a few apps like chrome will launch, and whatsapp aparently, but ive tried so many other apps that will not launch or hang on launch. any ideas? is it a failure of sorts or will a wipe fix the issue?
edit: i think its helpful to note this is a refurb phone. there have been times when my phone suddenly restarts (normal for android) and other times when the screen just goes off and i have to hold the power button till i get red blinks or sometimes i have to plug the phone into the wall for it to restart.
edit2: just restarted my phone connected to the wall. wifi wont even turn on. i waited 60s and it finally switched on. its like the phone has gone limp lol. it wont connect to my mac anymore either ("try reconnecting or restarting your device").
It sounds like your memory chip is failing. I would advise you to extract as much valuable data off of the device while you still can. Then we can troubleshoot to see what the problem really is without having to worry about important data loss.

hi
Recently purchased a CM 11 powered Yureka phone in India from Amazon. The phone does well but off late, hangs a lot (atleast 2-3 times a day, especially during gaming), keeps restarting on its own and system UI keeps crashing, the battery never charges to full capacity, the max it reaches is 99%.
Any fix to the problem or should i opt for a return?
restart problem
I am facing same problem. what you done to resolve ?
have you changed cpu frequencies or governors?
Yureka behaving strange
Apart from restarts automatically, it has one more problem. Sometimes wifi switched off automatically without my knowledge. It is serious problem because it costs me lot of 3G data being unaware and downloading anything.
It restarts mostly while playing games. Otherwise its ok. But sometimes when wifi switched off automatically or bluetooth switched on or off, screen rotation off etc without my knowledge is serious issue. I also installed antivirus to check but found everything ok.
Please share any solution.
You guys should try clearing cache from recovery
This is my first post on this forum. I searched around here for a solution, didn't really find one matching my problem. I am not a phone wizard or anything like that either. So I'll try my best explaining my problem.
First things first:
Phone: Note 4
Model #: SM-N910T
Android Version: 5.1.1
Rom: Stock Rom
Rooted: Rooted Once and used a custom Stock T Mobile Rom Once.
Here's the ROM I used at the time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...10tuvu1cog2-debloated-deodexed-stock-t3175406
Recently I So recently my phone out of the blue started lagging, freezing, and restarting itself. I didn't download any applications or anything like that for it to freeze up. I was currently then on the custom ROM I have mentioned above and it was the updated version. I have tried everything to my knowledge to try and fix the problem. I have tried going back to stock T mobile ROM (currently on stock rom now) through odin and stuff. After all that, it was still lagging, freezing, and restarting etc... Ran it through safe mode and the only problem in safe mode is that the lag is gone, but the restart is still there. Running in safe mode, if I would turn the screen off and back on to unlock my phone, there would be like 40% chance that it would restart after unlocking the phone and the phone would just restart normally. Rarely, whenever my phone would attempt to restart.. I would get a "Could not boot normally" message along with couples codes below and the image of android guy. Then I would have to take my battery out and attempt to restart the phone once again.. I've wiped the cache and everything in recovery mode, nothing helps at all. Also, the phone is in perfect condition. Hasn't been dropped, cracked, no water damage, or anything like that.
This place is my only hope to fix my phone before I will go out to buy another phone from the carrier.
Thank you all for taking your time to help me
u r not alone

Well I already got rid of my note 4 unfortunately before anyone could help me here so I had to upgrade my phone to note 5 and return note 4. While I still had my note 4, I realized something weird. While the phone was lagging and crashing etc.. When I had it plugged in for charge it would work perfectly fine. No lag, it wouldn't freeze up or restart (had it running perfect for 7 hours). It was like my phone was brand new again. As soon as I unplugged it from the charger, few minutes in and it was back to restarting and all that. I never knew why it did that.
Anyone know why this mightve happened?
Might be the battery though
I thought that too. I tried my brothers note 4 battery for awhile and it worked for a little bit and then it started doing the same thing even on his battery. Shrugs.

In the COH update iteration there is an annoying bug that affect fingerprint.
The bug causing the phone to restart, lagging & closing all apps randomly when the fingerprint is set.
May be this one is also the same.
Try to disable all fingerprint related settings.

I never used finger print scanning on my Note 4. Always disabled.
I've been having some problems with my Galaxy S5 recently after ~2 years and some change of owning it. I'm stock rooted on the original ANCG KitKat version.
The problem: If I power off my phone, it will cause it to go into a bootloop, not going past the first screen (Samsung Galaxy S5, powered by android). I haven't found a reliable way to fix it from the loop, but I usually just remove the battery, wait, and try again until somehow it just works and boots up. This is extremely problematic because sometimes my battery runs out and after charging I'll have to go through this game of chance again until my phone works.
The next problem also adds to this frustration as well. When I attempt to pick up a call, my phone will sometimes just not work and restart itself. This leads to lots of confusion and I can't call them back for some time because the phone is stuck in a bootloop.
In the few times that I do get my phone to actually boot up, everything works fine except sometimes my Wifi just doesn't work. It gets stuck on "turning on" where the notification drawer quick setting icon is dim green and never gets to the turned on full green state, eventually just turning itself off (no green color).
I haven't done a factory reset or any real troubleshooting yet, as I'm a bit worried I won't even be able to boot up the phone and I don't have the time yet to spend a full day fixing it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
The calling problem may be caused by the google dialer app not being set as the the default phone app but as for the other issues i have no idea a factory reset is a good start though
unfortunately I had the same problem but I have marshmallow but the factory reset helped with the not booting up and see a big difference with the battery
hi guys. my girlfriend has this A5 2016, and it is a complete piece of ****. it restarts on it's on, be it updating, under heavy usage or just in standby mode. it restarts several times in a row, sometimes going into that "optimizing applications" green screen before completing boot. sometimes it stays in this green screen for hours before i give up and reset it. sometimes it works, sometimes it goes back to the green screen. my girlfriend lost appointments a couple of times before learning that she can't rely on this POS phone.
as you can see, there isn't a clear pattern. is there a log in the system where I could check for the cause of all these crashes?
If your girlfriend didn't make any modification to it, prehaps her phone is fake
Maybe something was installed that doesn't work and makes the phone crash in the background or maybe the phone was shutdown while doing an update from the firmware. (it's a maybe, i am just guessing)
If you have a micro sd card (memorycard) in the phone you can remove it and see if the problem is still there. If problem is solved you need to format that card or maybe even replace it with a new microsd card
Also you can reset it to factory settings to remove everything you changed in the phone (after factory reset don't restore your apps in google play without very good looking if the apps are working ok)
If that doesn't solve the problem you can install TWRP recovery and do a full wipe & after that flash the stock firmware with Odin. If that still doesn't solve the problem you need to bring it back to the store where you bought it
