Does anyone use the discord application in gp?
In my gp, the microphone in the discord gets a little strange in roms based on the lineage ... The microphone is cutting the audio and echoing during the voice call in the discord!
My friend said that it has to correct or soften in the build.prop but until today I could not!
I can not stand to use ordinary roms like Slimsammy because of this problem! Please, somebody help me!

Hi
OS = Cyanogenmod 13
Android = 6.0.1
open Gapps = Yes
Whatsapp voicemail volume of myself is very low even if i speak really loud directly into the mic.
I belive this is a software issue so i did some research before i posted here.
I found out that theres a file in the folder /system/etc/snd_soc_msm or smth that contains variables for every sound related **** but im too dump to figure out what variable is for this special mic input volume
bump.
anyone please
What if dirt is stuck in the microphone hole?
nope checked that
Welcome to the CM world, They couldn't get the right driver for the mic? or Samsung didn't let them to have it? all AOSP based ROMs have the same issue with I9505 , If you tried GPE you will find the mic is just like the Stock Samsung S4 so my guess Samsung didn't let anyone to have it except if they want to.
Samsung isn't very open with their stuff. Look at the Exynos chips. No documentation for the devs.
Anyway, I don't have any problem with the volume. At least I never noticed a difference between the stock rom, gpe rom, cm based roms and aosp roms.
Hi there everybody. First time posting anything in any forums. Please excuse any irregularities that I may show (deviating from the norms and such).
ISSUE BACKGROUND
So I recently bought a LeEco Le Pro 3 (LEX727) second hand and I've run into an issue with the microphone during calling. I can hear the person calling fine, but the caller cannot hear me. I have checked that it is not a sim issue as I've tested call with two different sims (one local and one international sim). Currently it is running on LineageOS version 15.1-20180312-NIGHTLY-zl1. It is currently rooted via Magisk.
In system/etc/usf/form_factor_mtp.cfg I found out that there are two mics:
- top right mic
- bottom 90 degree mic.
I confirmed the top right mic is working as Google Now and recording apps picks up my voice. Using the MicTester app, I also confirmed it is indeed the top mic is functioning fine as the sound wave increases in amplitude as I input sound closer and closer to the top mic (as opposed to the bottom one).
I feel it is not a software issue as I have flashed various roms to the device, resulting with the same issue. Roms I have flashed includes:
- AICP (Oreo)
- Stock EUI
- Resurrection (Oreo)
- LineageOS (Oreo)
- Lineage OS (Nougat)*
*note: the phone came with LineageOS in Nougat. Same mic issue
Flashes were attempted with factory reset only and with complete wipe of internal storage (this was the latest attempt)
Also attempted to use MicFix module for Magisk. Still no mic
Also tried muting/unmuting during calls. Still no mic.
Also tried toggling loudspeaker on and off. Still no mic.
Hence, I feel that it is a hardware issue. To strengthen that opinion, there is a one solitary dent on the phone, near where the mic would be. Could be a completely busted mic or disconnected mic.
Also calls works fine via a connected wired earphone with inline mic.
CURRENT PURSUED SOLUTION
To remedy this issue, I wanted to reroute the mic paths for calls. Instead of using the bottom mic, I want to use the top mic instead. So could I get some assist in editing the mixer_paths.xml file of this phone to achieve that?
I found there are a few file with the name mixer_paths
system/etc/usf/mixer/mixer_paths_mtp.xml
System/vendor/etc/mixer_paths_tasha.xml
System/vendor/etc/sound_trigger_mixer_paths.xml
System/vendor/etc/sound_trigger_mixer_paths_wcd9330.xml
There is also this file:
System/vendor/etc/audio_tuning_mixer_tasha.txt
Can anyone help me figure this out with me?
Also, if there is a better way to solve this or that maybe the direction of editing mixer_paths is not quite right please do tell.
Note: I am not adept at codes. I have done a semester of matlab and c++ and that's it. Not really code savvy.
Any assist is very appreciated. Have been troubleshooting this issue for a few days now. Can't seem to be able to solve this
Hmm... I don't know if you'll get the help you need here. You should also try posting to reddit.com/r/AndroidDev, or maybe the general XDA Q&A forum?
What you might find easier to do is just replace the mic entirely. The mic is located at the bottom of the phone, on the charging port module itself. Replacements are available on AliExpress, but they might be missing some features(?). A few other users have the same problem as you. I encourage you to read through this sub-forum.

I'll try with ur suggestion to post this elsewhere. I'd rather not replace the microphone just yet because I'd like to try a non-open-my-phone-apart solution. Not the most dexterous of hands.
use a headphone/bluetooth mic till u fix it
I have a different device but the same issue. Main mic is not good, gives nothing but hisses.
Tried using RuleBot(info.kfsoft.autotask) from play store to automatically enable loudspeaker (which forces microphone to switch) when there's a call. I will update later if it works.

Hi, did you ever manage to get this working
I would like to preface this by saying I love all the Custom ROM's available, especially the Android 10 ones. But, I've noticed one problem shared by all the ROM's I've tested so far (almost all). It's that the mic quality is simply horrible on every single one of them. The first thing I do when I download a Custom ROM is to test the mic using the Google Recorder app and so far, no custom ROM has even come close the loudness and quality of stock. I wouldn't mind if the mic quality was bad, but that's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that the mic VOLUME is extremely low. I have to shout while calling just so the other person can hear me. How do I fix this problem? The same problem cropped up a lot on Pie ROM's too. I've tried editing the mixer_paths.xml but I don't really know where to look.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me. Cheers.

Use kernel with mic gain and increase it to your liking.
Hello guys and gals
I've been trying a lot of custom ROMs for our beloved 9T, and as is usual they all have their little bugs and quirks, some more some less.
However, one problem I noticed affects ALL custom roms for our device (well, the ones I tried at least) is that the microphone audio from any wired (3.5mm jack) headset has a VERY LOW VOLUME. Whenever I record a voice note in Whatsapp or any other app, or when I have a meeting with Google Meet, or even just recording my voice with a Voice Recorder app, it's extremely quiet, unless I talk right into the mic.
This was not the case on MIUI, so it's clearly a custom ROM issue. I wanted to know a couple of things:
1) I'm not crazy right, external mics DO have low volume on custom ROMs, yes? Or is this some issue specific to my device?
2) Any workarounds/solutions you can suggest?
By scouring the forums and searching on google, I think the problem is some misconfiguration in the /vendor/etc/mixer_paths_idp.xml file, however I have no clue which values to modify, since from what I read the values you should change are different depending on the device.
Any help or suggestion on this matter would be appreciated.
The subject should say it all. I have two PH-1s which are in remarkable condition for their ages, but need a ROM that works well with WhatsApp and Telegram calls using the speaker.
Lineageos 18 seems to have this issue, and working through other threads, I can't identify a ROM that has it fixed. Thank you.

This is partially fixed on DivestOS, as mata is my personal daily driver.
The situation is:
- phone call audio is garbled until you toggle speaker for the first call after booting
- loud speaker volume cannot be adjusted
- microphone however works
I've spent many hours trying to narrow down this issue to no avail. It is a sad bug, because otherwise this is largely a great device.
Here is the upstream issue report:
Microphone issues (noisy, low volume) on speaker mode (#2209) · Issues · LineageOS / issues / android · GitLab
Expected Behavior Microphone audio should be clear when on speaker mode. Current Behavior

Seems no derived from PHHussons' GSI ROMs, like Corvus, Octavi, DotOS have such issues. Actually the first too are nearly OEM quality.
This ROM seems to have fixed most issues that I faced in the past, including the mic bug. Unofficial LineageOS 18.1
